The model is classified as a 60 cm slideout hood, but nominal cabinet width alone does not establish fit. Bosch Australia’s sheet specifies an installation niche 162 mm high × 526 mm wide × 290 mm deep. It also lists a 175 cm supply cord and outlet diameters of 150 mm or 120 mm. Confirm the actual cabinet opening, duct arrangement and appliance E-Nr against the exact installation manual before ordering or cutting cabinetry.

Bosch Australia specifies minimum clearances of 430 mm above an electric cooktop and 650 mm above a gas cooktop. These are market-specific values from that document, not a substitute for the appliance’s applicable manual or local installation rules. Bosch cautions that catalogue diagrams are guidance and the installation manual contains full details; have a qualified installer check the site.

The Australian specification gives lower maximum airflow for recirculation than for ducted use. If your kitchen has no practical route to an outside vent, confirm the accessory and installation requirements before buying rather than assuming the hood can be used in recirculation without extra parts.

Noise, controls and lighting: what is established?
Bosch Home Appliances Ukraine lists 67 dB(A) sound power at the third extraction setting for DFM064W50, a regional product listing without the A suffix. That is a manufacturer-published figure, not an independent measurement of every DFM064W50A variant or a guarantee of the sound level in your kitchen. Duct design, installation and room conditions can affect perceived sound; the available evidence does not establish real-world noise results for this exact Australian model.
The Australian specification identifies three mechanical power settings. The cited specification material does not establish enough detail here to make a meaningful assessment of lighting performance or day-to-day controls beyond that. Compare any alternative using the same airflow mode and a comparable noise measurement basis.

Cleaning and replacement parts
Bosch describes the aluminium metal grease filter as washable and dishwasher-safe. Bosch Germany recommends monthly cleaning on its regional product page; follow the maintenance instructions supplied with your exact unit, because regional product codes and documentation can differ.
For replacement parts or accessories, use the complete E-Nr from the appliance rating plate, not just the DFM064W50A family name. Bosch’s general DFM/DFL manual explains how to identify the E-Nr and advises using the exact product number when buying accessories. Bosch’s US support page provides a model-specific parts lookup for DFM064W50A/01, but that does not establish a replacement-filter part number or compatibility in other markets.

Verdict: is the Bosch DFM064W50A any good?
On paper, it is a plausible choice if you want a 60 cm cabinet-integrated slideout hood, your niche matches Bosch Australia’s stated dimensions, and you can provide ducting or obtain the correct recirculation kit. Its specifications are clear enough to assess fit and installation planning, but they do not establish how well it clears cooking fumes in a particular kitchen, how noisy it will feel in use, or how it compares in independent testing. Choose it on verified installation compatibility and local parts support, not on airflow figures alone.
