The Bosch 500 Series B36FD52SNS is a 36-inch, standard-depth French-door refrigerator with 26 cu. ft. of manufacturer-listed capacity, external water and ice dispensing, and Home Connect app features. Its published specifications make it worth considering if those features and its storage layout suit your kitchen, but the fit needs careful checking: Bosch’s depth figures use different measurement definitions. The available information does not establish hands-on performance, reliability, or how it compares with competing refrigerators.
What the Bosch B36FD52SNS offers
Bosch identifies the B36FD52SNS as a 500 Series, stainless-steel, 36-inch, standard-depth French-door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. Its documented feature set includes an external water and ice dispenser, bottle fill, QuickIce Pro, anti-fingerprint finish, UltraClarityPro filtration, MultiAirFlow, and Home Connect. The specification sheet also lists VitaFresh Plus, SuperFreeze, automatic defrost, a water-filter replacement indicator, and Wi-Fi-enabled control through the Home Connect app. These are manufacturer-listed features; they do not establish how well the refrigerator performs in everyday use.
Bosch’s US product listing showed a price of $3,399 and an “Out of Stock” status when accessed on October 7, 2026. Price and stock are changeable listing details, so check current availability before making a purchase decision.
How much storage does it provide?
Bosch lists 26 cu. ft. of total capacity, divided into 18 cu. ft. for the refrigerator and 8 cu. ft. for the freezer. The fresh-food compartment has two humidity-control drawers, a full-width chiller drawer, four adjustable shelves, and one fixed shelf. The freezer uses a two-tier drawer layout.

The listed capacity and layout describe the manufacturer’s specifications, not a measurement of usable space after shelves, bins, or food are in place. Consider the arrangement of drawers and shelves against the foods and containers you store most often.
Will it fit a 36-inch opening?
Bosch lists a required cutout of 70 inches high by 36 inches wide by 25 inches deep. The refrigerator itself is 35 5/8 inches wide and 70 inches high, rising to 70 5/8 inches with the leveling legs fully extended. Those figures mean a nominal 36-inch opening is not enough on its own to confirm a safe installation: check the opening’s height and depth, clearances, door swing, and the delivery route as well.

Depth is especially important because Bosch’s published figures differ by measurement definition. The product page gives an overall depth of 32 1/8 inches, while the September 2026 detail sheet lists 35 7/16 inches with doors and handles and 29 5/16 inches without them. Do not treat any one of these as a universal cabinet-depth figure. Use the exact installation instructions and measure the intended location, including protrusions and required clearances, before planning cabinetry.

Ice, water filtration, and replacement items
Bosch rates ice production at 12 lb per 24 hours, based on filling 8-ounce glasses, and lists storage capacity of 2.8 lb. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of the amount available in every household or set of conditions.
The specified replacement UltraClarityPro water filter is BORPLFTR55. Bosch says the filter reduces more than 99.9% of sediment that may be found in water and ice, including chlorine and chloramine; this is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent test result. Confirm compatibility with the exact model revision before buying a replacement. Bosch also lists the FreshProtect starter kit FPETHKT50, refill kit FPETHRF50, water-filter bypass 10013297, and 90-degree door stopper 10012733 as model accessories.

Energy use and sound rating
Bosch lists energy consumption of 702 kWh per year and says the refrigerator is ENERGY STAR certified. The annual figure is a manufacturer specification, not a prediction of your utility bill; your cost depends on your electricity rate and actual use. Bosch also lists a maximum sound level of 40 dBA. Neither figure is an independent measurement of energy use or noise in a home.
Warranty and support
Bosch lists a one-year limited warranty covering parts and labor. Its specification sheet directs owners to the Use & Care manual or Bosch’s website for the complete warranty terms. Bosch’s model-specific support page provides manuals, parts, and owner resources.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
The available product information establishes Bosch’s listed configuration, features, dimensions, energy figure, sound rating, warranty summary, and named replacement items. It does not establish real-world temperature consistency, lived-in kitchen noise, long-term reliability, owner satisfaction, or a fair comparison with another model. Bosch’s September 2026 specification sheet also says specifications may change without notice, so confirm current details with the manufacturer before purchase.
For a meaningful comparison with another refrigerator, check the measured depth with doors and handles, cutout and ventilation requirements, refrigerator/freezer capacity split, ice production and storage, replacement-filter cost, energy use, sound rating, app requirements, warranty terms, and current price and availability.
