The Bosch ART 26-18 LI is a compact 18 V grass trimmer with a 26 cm cutting width, but it uses replaceable plastic Durablade elements rather than a conventional nylon line spool. That makes it worth considering for routine grass trimming and lawn edges only if compatible replacement blades are available where you live. Bosch’s manual is the best guide to its specifications and safe upkeep; owner reviews are mixed and anecdotal.
What the ART 26-18 LI is
Bosch’s 2016 original-instructions manual lists the ART 26-18 LI as an 18 V trimmer with a 26 cm cutting width. The model belongs to article-number family 3 600 HA5 E.. Bosch Power Tools’ manual and downloads page covers the ART 26-18 LI along with related ART 23-18 and LI+ models.
The defining difference from a typical line trimmer is the cutting element: the ART 26-18 LI uses replaceable plastic Durablade blades, not a nylon line spool. In practice, that avoids managing a spool of line, but makes the availability, fit and ongoing cost of replacement blades important parts of ownership.
How well does it work?
Available user feedback is divided. ProductReview.com.au showed a 2.8 rating from seven reviews on its captured page; comments include praise for light handling and garden results as well as complaints about blade wear, replacement cost or supply, awkward handling and trimming close to hard edges. Those are individual experiences, not controlled performance or durability tests. ProductReview.com.au’s ART 26-18 LI+ page labels the LI+ discontinued.

Castorama’s French listing showed 2.8/5 from five reviews, with comments dated 2018–2019. Some purchasers liked the result; others reported blade breakage or retention problems and wished for line-style trimming. Castorama marks the product no longer offered there. Blade upkeep and safe operation
Bosch’s manual includes blade inspection and replacement procedures and calls for Bosch-approved cutting elements. Verify that replacement parts are specified for the exact ART 26-18 LI and blade type; owner reports of supply difficulties or confusion are reasons to check, not proof that parts are universally incompatible.

- After switching the trimmer off, wait for the blade to stop completely before restarting or handling it; it continues rotating briefly after shutoff.
- Inspect the cutting element and replace it using the manual’s procedure and approved parts.
Should you buy one now?
Availability is the central qualification. ProductReview.com.au labels the LI+ discontinued, and Castorama says its ART 26-18 LI listing is no longer offered in France. Those signals do not prove that every regional market has stopped selling the tool, but they make it prudent to confirm local stock and compatible blade supply before committing.

The ART 26-18 LI may suit someone who wants an 18 V tool for ordinary grass trimming and lawn edges, prefers its compact 26 cm format, and can readily source the correct Durablade elements. It is a less comfortable choice if you expect nylon line, regularly trim against hard edges, or cannot confirm replacement-blade availability. The accessible information does not support an objective comparison with alternatives on runtime, cutting performance or complete-tool balance; compare those details using the exact kit and local consumables on offer.
