Book of Hours does not have a verified universal cheat code for opening rooms. Progress instead comes from meeting each room’s aspect requirements with the books, skills, soul elements, items, and assistance you develop as you restore Hush House. If you are stuck, use the progression advice below; the final section lists a few optional hidden-item secrets.
How do you unlock rooms in Book of Hours?
Book of Hours is a narrative crafting RPG from Weather Factory, released on Steam on August 17, 2023. You restore Hush House, an occult library, by studying books, developing skills, crafting esoteric items, helping visitors, and choosing a personal history. The game is single-player and combat-free. Its nine Wisdoms and nine Elements of the Soul are among the systems that shape progression. Steam’s official store page describes the game and its core systems.
Room access is part of that broader loop, not a separate password puzzle. Challenges ask you to meet aspects; you build your options by finding and reading books, advancing skills and soul elements, and using suitable items or assistance. The exact recipe can differ by challenge, so do not assume one resource or tactic will work for every room.
How to meet room aspect requirements
- Check the challenge’s aspects. Treat the displayed requirements as the target, rather than trying unrelated items at random.
- Build your available options. Open rooms you can access to find books and resources, then study books to develop skills and soul elements.
- Use appropriate help and items. Match your available assistance and resources to the aspects the challenge needs; a single fixed solution is not established for every room.
- Look up a specific recipe if needed. The Steam Community guide “How to Meet the Aspect Requirements: a Comprehensive Recipe Guide [UPDATED]” says it covers room unlocking, book reading, ink crafting, skill upgrades, writing history, and completion, and that it was updated for House of Light. Consult the relevant entry and check that it matches your game version and DLC before relying on exact values.
The guide is a community-authored reference, not an official universal solution. Its detailed recipes should be treated as the author’s guidance for the version covered.

What to do when you are stuck
If you cannot satisfy an aspect
Pause the room attempt and expand your options: search accessible rooms for books and useful resources, study books to progress skills, and consider whether another suitable assistant or item can help. This is a practical way to work through the game’s connected progression systems, not a guarantee that every challenge follows the same recipe.
If an item or card will not work at a workstation
Workstations in Hush House support activities such as studying books, crafting, breaking down some items, and evolving soul elements. A community-maintained workstation reference describes how the available actions depend on the station’s principles and input slots. Check that the location supports the action and accepts the item or card you are trying to use; compatibility at one station does not mean it will work at another. Exact slot details may vary by game version.

Are there cheats in Book of Hours?
The available evidence does not establish a universal room-unlock cheat code. Avoid relying on unverified claims about console settings or save editing as a way to bypass room requirements. Hidden clicks do exist, but they reveal particular items rather than providing a general shortcut through progression.

These are secrets for finding specific items, not evidence of a cheat that opens rooms or bypasses aspect requirements.
