Nothing in Boltgun 2’s collectible list is permanently missable. The 2026 completion checklist from 100% Guides records 174 Secrets and 33 Purity Seals, and says both categories count toward trophies and achievements. You can return to completed missions with Level Select, collect what you skipped, and finish the replayed mission so the new completion state is saved.
The important exception is campaign branching: the route you do not choose remains locked during that campaign. To enter the other branch and its optional chapters, you must begin another campaign, choose the alternate path, and then use Level Select for cleanup.
At a glance: what can and cannot be missed?
- Secrets: 174 in the full completion checklist.
- Purity Seals: 33 total, with one in every level listed by the checklist.
- Trophy and achievement credit: both collectible categories count toward completion.
- Permanent collectible missables: none, according to the 2026 100% Guides checklist.
- Replay method: completed missions can be revisited through Level Select.
- Campaign branches: the unchosen route is unavailable in the current campaign and requires another campaign to unlock.
That distinction matters. You do not need to restart a campaign because you walked past a hidden wall or overlooked a Seal. You may need a second campaign, however, if your goal is to see every branch-specific mission and collect items located there.

The checklist separates Boltgun 2’s collectible hunt into two tracked categories. Secrets are hidden discoveries placed around missions, while Purity Seals are a separate collectible with one listed for each level.

Use the count shown for each mission as your practical target rather than trying to remember every item during a first run. A level can be completed for story purposes while still showing unfinished collectible progress.
Are any collectibles permanently missable?
No. The 100% Guides checklist states: “Nothing is missable, and everything can be collected through the Level Select menu.” In practice, that means a missed Secret behind a destructible wall, an overlooked Seal on a ledge, or an item in a side room can all be recovered after the story has advanced.
When you replay a mission, do not assume that merely touching the collectible is enough to update the campaign record. Finish the relevant level after collecting the missing item so the completion state has a chance to register. If the level has a completion counter, check it after returning to the menu before moving on to another mission.
How to replay a level and clean up missed items
- Open the campaign’s Level Select menu. Choose the completed mission that shows incomplete Secret or Purity Seal progress.
- Review the mission counter before launching. Note which category is incomplete so you can focus on the missing item type instead of searching the entire map without a plan.
- Re-enter the level and sweep optional spaces. Check side rooms, elevated platforms, destructible surfaces, switches, and doors that were previously inaccessible or easy to overlook.
- Use the automap while searching. Compare explored areas with the remaining-objective information and look for parts of the layout you never entered.
- Collect the item, then complete the mission. Reaching the exit or completing the mission objective is the safest way to record the updated collectible state.
- Confirm the counter after the mission. If the number did not change, replay the level again and verify that you collected the correct item rather than one already registered.
This approach is faster than restarting the entire campaign. It also lets you divide cleanup into short sessions: one mission, one counter, and one verified result at a time.
How campaign choices and alternate paths work
Boltgun 2 uses campaign choices to create alternate routes. The available path is selected during the relevant playthrough, and the chapters on the other route remain locked for that campaign. You cannot switch to the unchosen branch midway through the same run.

To reach the other route, start another campaign and make the opposite choice. Once that branch has been opened, its missions can be replayed through Level Select just like missions from your first route.
Windows Central reports that alternating chapters can be selected only once per playthrough. It also notes that the choices can unlock secret optional chapters containing additional hidden collectibles. Therefore, a completionist should treat branch access as a campaign-planning issue, not as an ordinary missed-item problem.
A practical completionist plan
First campaign: progress normally
Choose either branch on your first run. Collect Secrets and Purity Seals when they are directly in your path, but do not stop the campaign every time you suspect that a hidden room exists. The no-missable rule means you can preserve momentum and return later with a focused cleanup route.
Record missions whose counters are incomplete, especially if you finish a level without exploring every visible section. The automap and level counters provide a better memory aid than trying to remember a fleeting doorway several hours later.
Second campaign: take the other branch
Start a new campaign and choose the route you did not select the first time. Play far enough to unlock its branch-exclusive missions and any optional chapters connected to those choices. Collect items there as convenient, but keep the same mission-by-mission notes you used on the first run.

Final cleanup: use Level Select
After both routes have been opened, return to Level Select and work through the incomplete counters. Handle one branch at a time so you do not confuse a missing item from the first route with one that exists only in the second. Finish each replayed mission and verify the counter before selecting the next level.

Where Secrets are commonly hidden
The level entries in the 100% Guides checklist show recurring patterns. These are search clues, not a guarantee that every level uses every pattern:
Destructible walls and cave surfaces
A secret may be behind a wall that looks like ordinary scenery until you test it. In “Welcome To The Wilds,” the checklist points to a waterfall area and a destructible cave wall. When a route appears to end abruptly, inspect nearby surfaces rather than assuming the map is complete.
Under platforms and on elevated ledges
Vertical spaces are easy to miss during a fast run. Look below bridges and platforms, then check ledges that require a jump, a route around the back of an arena, or a higher approach from a neighboring room.
Side rooms and concealed switches
Some Secrets are not placed directly on the critical path. “Festering Bog,” for example, includes a hidden switch behind boxes. Search corners, stacked objects, and rooms that do not contain an obvious combat encounter.

Skull-triggered doors and other gated entrances
“Munitions Mayhem” includes doors opened by skull triggers. If a sealed entrance has a distinctive activation object nearby, identify what activates it before leaving the area. A door that looks decorative may lead to the collectible route.
These examples are tied to specific missions and do not replace a full level-by-level checklist. For exact locations and screenshots, use the complete 100% Guides checklist while keeping the mission counter open in the game as your progress check.
Using the automap and Navigation Guide together
The official announcement describes a new automap that tracks explored areas and remaining objectives. The Navigation Guide points toward the next objective. They serve different purposes during a collectible sweep:
- Automap: use it to identify rooms and corridors you have already entered, then look for unexplored gaps or branches.
- Remaining-objective information: use it to distinguish an unfinished mission task from a purely optional search area.
- Navigation Guide: use it when you have lost the critical path or need to reorient after exploring a side route.
- Counter check: use the level’s completion information after the mission, because a fully explored-looking map does not by itself prove that every Secret or Seal was collected.
A good rhythm is to follow the Navigation Guide until the next objective is clear, pause before leaving a major arena, and use the automap to inspect side spaces. This reduces backtracking without turning every room into an unstructured search.

Common progression mistakes and how to avoid them
Restarting the whole campaign after a missed item
There is no need to do this for Secrets or Purity Seals. Level Select is the intended recovery route. Restart only when you specifically need to choose the other campaign branch.

Assuming an unfinished counter means the item is in the current route
After a branch choice, verify that you are searching the correct version of the campaign. Route-exclusive missions and optional chapters may contain collectibles that cannot appear in the other branch’s level list.
Leaving immediately after picking up a collectible
Complete the replayed mission and then inspect the counter. This gives the game a clear opportunity to record the pickup and prevents uncertainty about whether the item was saved.
Relying only on the objective marker
The Navigation Guide is for the next objective, not a complete collectible detector. Secrets can sit away from the critical route, so combine objective guidance with automap exploration and the level checklist.
Counting route missions twice
Keep separate notes for the first campaign, the alternate campaign, and final cleanup. This is especially useful when an optional chapter appears only after a branch decision and contains its own hidden items.
Platforms and release format
Auroch Digital’s official FAQ lists the initial platforms and clarifies the release format. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is confirmed for shortly after the other platforms, but the FAQ does not provide a specific launch date in the information available here.
| Platform or format | Status stated by the official FAQ |
|---|---|
| PC | Available |
| PlayStation 5 | Available |
| Xbox Series X|S | Available |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Confirmed to launch shortly after the other platforms |
| Physical edition | No physical version planned at the time of the FAQ; the game is digital-only |
The FAQ describes Boltgun 2 as a brutal, fast-paced sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, starring Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. The digital-only status does not change the collectible rules: your campaign progress, branch access, and Level Select cleanup work from the installed game version on your platform.
What you need for full collectible completion
- Reach both campaign routes by playing a second campaign and selecting the alternate branch.
- Unlock and inspect branch-specific or optional chapters.
- Use the mission counters to identify incomplete Secrets and Purity Seals.
- Replay incomplete missions through Level Select.
- Search destructible surfaces, vertical spaces, side rooms, switches, and gated doors.
- Use the automap for explored-area coverage and the Navigation Guide for objective orientation.
- Finish every cleanup mission and verify that its counter updates.
Following that order separates the only campaign-wide requirement—seeing the alternate branch—from ordinary collectible cleanup. Missing an item is a replay task; missing a branch is a second-campaign task.
