If Bobara is showing old weather, the wrong place, or no alerts, check settings in this order: location access and Precise Location, notification permission and Bobara’s own alert controls, Background App Refresh, the widget’s selected location, then the app and device. These settings solve different failure modes, so changing them in sequence identifies whether the problem is location, alerts, a stale background task, or local app data.
What Bobara needs in order to follow your weather
Bobara is an entertainment app from Lotus Apps, LLC in which Momo’s onsen mirrors local conditions, including rain, snow, wind, and thunderstorms. Its App Store listing also describes Apple Watch support, a watch complication, Home Screen widgets, and Night Stand Mode. The listing requires iOS 18.0 or later. Lotus Apps describes the experience this way: “When it rains where you are, it rains here too. Snow as well. I like both.”
For that behavior to work, four separate parts of iOS have to cooperate:
- Location Services tells Bobara which place to use. Precise Location matters when the app needs the device’s actual position rather than an approximate area.
- Notifications controls whether iOS may deliver alerts. Bobara may also have its own switches for the types of weather it displays or announces.
- Background App Refresh permits eligible apps to update while you are not actively looking at them. iOS schedules this work; it is not a guaranteed, user-selectable refresh interval.
- The widget’s location is independent of where the phone is now. A widget can remain fixed to a saved city until you edit it.
A failure in one layer can look like a failure in another. For example, a widget pinned to a saved place can appear to be a location-permission problem, while a correct forecast with no alert is usually a notification-setting problem.

1. Give Bobara usable location access
Start with the permission that determines where Bobara thinks you are. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Bobara.
- Make sure the main Location Services switch at the top of the iOS Location Services screen is on.
- For Bobara, select the most permissive background-capable option that iOS offers. If Always is available, it is the option designed for an app that needs to react when you are not using it. If iOS offers fewer choices, select the most capable option shown rather than denying access.
- Turn on Precise Location when that switch appears. With it off, iOS can provide an approximate area, which may put the app in the wrong town or delay a change when you travel.
- Reopen Bobara after changing the permission and allow it time to obtain a new reading.
Apple’s weather guidance uses the same combination—background-capable location access and Precise Location—for more accurate current-location notifications. Bobara is not Apple’s Weather app, but the operating-system permission is the same control that determines whether a third-party app can use your position.
Choosing Always and Precise Location has a privacy and battery cost: iOS may allow location checks when Bobara is not on screen. If you prefer tighter privacy, use the least access that still meets your needs and open Bobara manually when you want a current reading. That choice can prevent dependable background behavior; it is not evidence that the app itself is broken.

2. Turn on both kinds of notifications
A weather alert requires permission from iOS and, where provided, an enabled alert category inside Bobara. Check both.
Allow alerts in iOS
Go to Settings > Notifications > Bobara. Turn on Allow Notifications, then enable the alert placements you actually want, such as Lock Screen, Notification Centre, banners, sounds, or badges. If Allow Notifications is off, no in-app switch can override that decision.
Check Bobara’s own alert controls
Open Bobara and inspect its notification or weather-alert settings. Enable each category you expect to receive. The labels are controlled by the app, so do not assume that enabling one category automatically enables every type of rain, snow, wind, or thunderstorm alert.

Apple’s documented current-weather flow similarly requires notification permission and location access before features such as Severe Weather and Next-Hour Precipitation can be enabled. Those labels belong to Apple’s Weather service; use Bobara’s own labels for Bobara alerts.
Interpret a notification-only failure
If Bobara shows changing weather when you open it but never alerts you, location and data retrieval are probably functioning. Concentrate on the two notification layers, then revisit the background settings in the next section. If the display is also stale, notification permission alone will not fix the underlying refresh problem.
3. Enable Background App Refresh and test without Low Power Mode
Background updating is controlled at two levels. Open Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
- Confirm the global Background App Refresh switch is on.
- In the app list, turn on the switch for Bobara.
- Temporarily turn off Low Power Mode while you diagnose the issue. Low Power Mode can reduce or defer background work, making weather appear stale.
Close Bobara, leave the phone connected for a while, and then check again. iOS decides when background work runs based on system conditions, usage patterns, power, connectivity, and its own limits. Neither Background App Refresh nor the Bobara listing promises a precise refresh interval, so a delay by itself does not establish an outage.
Background App Refresh and location access can use additional battery, especially when you travel or keep several apps eligible to update. Once Bobara is working, you can test whether a less permissive location choice or a disabled background switch meets your needs; doing so may make the onsen and its widgets less timely.

4. Correct a widget that is showing the wrong place
A widget can be deliberately tied to a saved location and therefore remain unchanged when you move. Editing the phone’s location permission will not change that selection.
- Touch and hold the Weather or Bobara widget on the Home Screen.
- Choose Edit.
- Tap the location field and select My Location for the device’s current position, or choose the intended saved place.
- Tap outside the widget to save the change, then wait for it to redraw.
If the widget has no Edit option, remove it and add it again from the widget gallery, then select the desired location during setup. The important distinction is whether you want a moving current location or a permanent city. A saved place is useful for a home town or travel destination, but it will look “wrong” if you expected it to follow the phone.
5. Refresh Bobara, update it, and restart the device
After permissions and background settings are correct, clear a local app or system state before taking the more destructive reinstall step.
- Fully close Bobara: open the app switcher, locate Bobara, and swipe it away. Open it again and check whether the weather changes.
- Install any available app update: open the App Store, tap your account picture, review available updates, and update Bobara if it appears. An update can contain compatibility or refresh fixes that settings cannot supply.
- Restart the iPhone or iPad: power the device off and back on, then open Bobara once the system has finished starting.
Closing and reopening tests whether the app can fetch current data when it is active. Updating tests whether the installed build is the problem. Restarting clears temporary operating-system state. Because each step tests a different layer, do them in that order rather than repeatedly force-closing the app.

6. Offload or reinstall only after the local checks
If Bobara still shows stale conditions after the settings, update, and restart checks, reinstalling is the final local remedy. It replaces the app bundle and its local cache, but it can also remove locally stored preferences depending on the method you choose.

Try offloading first
On iOS, open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Bobara, choose Offload App, and confirm. Offloading removes the app itself while retaining its documents and data where iOS can do so. Reinstall Bobara from the same screen or from the App Store, then open it and review location, notification, and background settings again.
Delete and reinstall when offloading fails
Use Delete App from the Bobara storage screen, confirm, and download Bobara again from the App Store. Deleting can remove local settings and cached data, so expect to grant permissions again and recreate any in-app choices. If the problem is caused by corrupted local data, a clean install can restore normal behavior; if it is caused by denied permissions or an iOS restriction, reinstalling alone will not.

Understand the trade-offs before leaving every setting enabled
The most reliable configuration is not always the one with the lowest battery or privacy impact. Choose based on how much automation you want.

Compatibility details that can explain unexpected behavior
Bobara’s App Store listing requires iOS 18.0 or later. If the device cannot run that version, the supported behavior described for the current app cannot be assumed; update the operating system when the device permits, or verify compatibility on the listing before troubleshooting settings.

The listing advertises Apple Watch support, a watch complication, Home Screen widgets, and Night Stand Mode. These surfaces depend on the iPhone app having usable weather and location data. Fix the iPhone’s permission and refresh path first. A watch complication or widget may continue displaying its last available value until the phone app can obtain new data; that does not prove the watch hardware is at fault.
When the problem may be outside your device
There is no authoritative Bobara outage notice identified in the available official information, so treat a failure as a local permission, refresh, widget, or app-state issue first. If several devices show the same failure after a clean install and correct permissions, record the iOS version, Bobara version, device model, selected location, and the time of the failed update before contacting the developer through the app’s or App Store’s support route. Do not infer a universal outage from one stale widget, and do not infer a fixed refresh schedule from a single delayed update.
A practical decision path
For the quickest diagnosis, stop as soon as the symptom is resolved:
- Wrong place: inspect Bobara’s Location Services entry and Precise Location, then edit the widget’s selected location.
- No alerts: enable iOS notifications and Bobara’s own alert categories.
- Stale only in the background: enable both Background App Refresh switches and test with Low Power Mode off.
- Stale even after opening: close and reopen Bobara, update it, and restart the device.
- Still broken: offload and reinstall; delete and reinstall only if offloading does not help.
This order starts with reversible settings, preserves app data as long as possible, and gives each step a distinct diagnostic result. It also avoids spending battery or losing local settings before you know which layer is failing.
