Choose Bluey: The Videogame if you want a Bluey game to play now or want the clearest option for a larger local group: its publisher says it supports up to four players locally. Choose Bluey’s Happy Snaps if taking photos, exploring Brisbane-inspired locations, and decorating a scrapbook sounds more appealing—and you are willing to wait for its announced October 15, 2026 release. As of October 13, 2026, Happy Snaps had not launched, so there is no hands-on basis for calling it the better game or value.
What is the main difference?
The games are built around different activities. Bluey: The Videogame is an available adventure with exploration, quests, collectibles, and show-inspired minigames. Bluey’s Happy Snaps is an announced camera-and-scrapbook game: explore, photograph characters and places, then decorate a scrapbook with collected stickers and decorations.

If you want active minigames and a confirmed option for up to four local players, lean toward The Videogame. If the photo-taking and creative collecting loop is the draw, consider Happy Snaps once it is available.

The publisher says The Videogame supports up to four players in local co-op. That is the firmer choice if several people want to play together on one system. Its activities include show-inspired games such as “Keepy Uppy,” “Ground is Lava,” “Magic Xylophone,” and “Chattermax Chase,” alongside exploration and quests. These details describe publisher-promoted features; they are not a claim about how much content every player will experience.

Happy Snaps is confirmed for two, not four
Happy Snaps’ official overview says a second player can join. The reviewed official material does not establish a four-player mode, so do not assume it will suit a larger group in the same way. If two-player participation is enough and a shared photo-and-scrapbook activity appeals, it may be the more relevant fit after release.

Pick The Videogame for minigames and adventure
Outright Games describes an interactive sandbox adventure spanning settings such as the Heeler home, the Creek, playgrounds, and the beach. The mix of exploration, quests, collectibles, and minigames is aimed at families who want to move through activities rather than build the experience around a camera or scrapbook. Pick Happy Snaps for photos and collecting
In Happy Snaps, Bluey and Bingo find Dad’s old camera and explore the family home and places around Brisbane. Announced locations include the ferry to The Park, South Bank, and the lookout seen in “The Sign”; the publisher also mentions wildlife such as lorikeets and koalas. Players take photos, decorate scrapbooks, and uncover surprises. Bluey’s official overview advertises “hundreds of stickers and decorations,” without giving a more exact count. The Videogame is the option to get if you want to play now. Happy Snaps was announced for October 15, 2026, two days after the evidence current date of October 13, 2026. Check its current storefront before purchasing, since a scheduled release date does not establish that the game has launched in your region or that a particular edition is in stock.

Happy Snaps also lists Nintendo Switch 2; the cited platform information for The Videogame does not list Switch 2.
