In Bluehost, open Security, choose the domain, click Manage, then select Site Cleanup in the Complete Security panel. The page shows the cleanup request’s status, the latest scan results, file-handling details, and—after manual removal—analyst feedback.

Open the report in your Bluehost dashboard

  1. Sign in to your Bluehost dashboard and click Security in the left navigation.
  2. Find the domain you want to check and click Manage on its row.
  3. In the Complete Security panel, click Site Cleanup. The button displays the current cleanup status.

These steps apply to Bluehost Malware Protection’s Site Cleanup report, not to security reports in other hosting dashboards. Bluehost’s official guide was updated August 28, 2026.

Security Analyst Feedback Report

This report contains recommendations and required actions identified during manual malware removal. It may be farther down the page, so scroll within the dashboard if it is not immediately visible.

Understand the Site Cleanup status

  • Requested: Bluehost has received the request, and it is waiting for a malware-removal professional to pick it up.
  • In Progress: A professional has started reviewing the infected site. Feedback follows the analysis and cleanup.
  • Rejected: Bluehost could not process the request. Its examples include DNS or domain reachability or configuration problems, HTTP 4xx or 5xx responses, analysis tools blocked by a web application firewall such as Cloudflare, and a file path that does not exist.
  • Superseded: A newer submission replaced this request—for example, if a duplicate was submitted before the first request was processed. Bluehost says it will take only the latest request.
  • Completed: Cleanup is finished, and feedback about the work performed and next steps has been added.

How long manual malware removal may take

Bluehost says manual malware-removal requests may take up to 48 hours for its Security Analysts to review the website and remove identified malware. This is an estimate for manual requests, not a guaranteed timeline for every Site Cleanup case.

What to do if malware signs remain

If signs of malware persist or return after a completed manual removal, first carry out the recommended actions in the Security Analyst Feedback Report. Then contact Bluehost by phone or chat and ask for another manual malware review. Bluehost’s guide lists chat as available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and phone as available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to midnight Eastern Time; check Bluehost’s current support information because schedules can change.
