The Blendtec Designer 650 is a feature-rich countertop blender on paper, with a listed 1,560-watt motor, touchscreen controls, eight manual speeds and a WildSide+ jar. But the official product page does not resolve whether every listing is the exact CTB1 configuration, and its own cycle count is inconsistent. Treat the specs below as Blendtec’s claims, then verify the controls, package contents, voltage and seller for the specific unit before buying.
What the Designer 650 CTB1 offers
Blendtec’s US product page describes the Designer 650 family as a residential countertop blender with a 1,560-watt motor, sealed capacitive touchscreen, eight manual speeds plus pulse, and an illuminated timer. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent measurements of blending performance. Blendtec describes uses including smoothies, whole-fruit juice, ice cream, soups, sauces, batters and frozen drinks; those are also vendor claims rather than tested results.
The page lists dimensions of 7 inches wide, 15.5 inches high and 9.25 inches deep, a weight of 9.8 pounds, and electrical requirements of 110/120 volts and 15 amps. Confirm the rating label and dimensions for the exact unit, particularly if buying outside the US or from a marketplace listing. Blendtec’s Designer 650 product page is the source for these family-level specifications.

How many settings and cycles does it have?
The manual controls are listed as eight speeds plus pulse. Preset-cycle information is less clear: Blendtec’s feature copy describes six tasks or cycles, including batters and ice crush, while its detailed specifications list five: Smoothie, Ice Cream, Whole Juice, Hot Soup and Clean. The product page does not explain the discrepancy or establish that every current listing is the CTB1 configuration. Check the buttons on the unit or its manual rather than relying on a definitive preset count inferred from the family page.

What comes in the box, and which jars fit?
Blendtec identifies a WildSide+ jar and vented gripper lid as included. The company describes the jar as BPA-free copolyester and says it is compatible with all its consumer blenders. Verify that the particular CTB1 listing includes both pieces; marketplace package contents were not established by the manufacturer’s family page.
Blendtec also advertises up to 25% increased blending efficiency for frozen ingredients and says its blunt blade is 80% thicker and ten times stronger than other blades. These are the company’s claims, not independently validated comparisons. If considering a separately sold jar or specialty accessory, check Blendtec’s compatibility information for the exact blender rather than assuming every jar fits.

What does the warranty cover?
Blendtec’s US/Canada warranty schedule lists eight years of parts and eight years of labor for the original Designer 650. The terms apply to qualifying residential products bought from Blendtec or an authorized dealer in the United States or Canada; commercial use is excluded, and the company says use exceeding 3,000 cycles in a year is presumed commercial. Separately purchased jars are listed for three years of parts and labor.

Is the Blendtec Designer 650 worth considering?
It is worth considering if its touchscreen, manual speed range, listed jar and stated warranty align with your needs. The available evidence supports describing its specifications and warranty terms, but not ranking its real-world blending, noise, durability or value against other blenders: no independent comparable tests or verified current price were established. The exact CTB1 listing, seller status and included contents also need confirmation.
