The BlendJet 2 is currently subject to a recall with no remedy available. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says BlendJet is no longer in business and instructs owners of affected units to discard them—not donate or resell them. That safety status matters more than the blender’s advertised portability or battery life.

Is the BlendJet 2 recalled?

Yes. The CPSC announced the recall on December 28, 2023, covering about 4.8 million units in the United States, in addition to about 117,000 sold in Canada. Its notice identifies risks of overheating, fire, and blade breakage. The notice reports about 329 blade-break reports, 17 reports of overheating or fires associated with property-damage claims of about $150,000, about 49 reports of minor burns, and one laceration report. These are figures reported by the CPSC, not independently verified totals. The notice was updated May 13, 2025.

The CPSC’s current recall-status notice states: “The firm is no longer in business and the recall remedy is no longer available. Discard this product. Do not donate or resell.” Follow that current instruction rather than relying on older replacement information on the manufacturer’s recall page. Read the CPSC recall notice and current remedy status.

How to check your unit

The manufacturer’s recall page says the serial number is on the base and provides a recall-check tool. Use it to identify a unit if needed, but do not assume a remedy is available because the page still contains historical recall-process and replacement details. The newer CPSC notice controls current remedy status. BlendJet’s recall information and checker.

What the BlendJet 2 offers on paper

The manufacturer describes the BlendJet 2 as a portable blender for smoothies, shakes, mixed drinks, and similar recipes. Its published specifications are useful for understanding the product, but they do not change the recall instruction.

Specification Manufacturer-published information
Jar capacity 16 oz (475 mL)
Dimensions 9 × 3 in (230 × 76 mm)
Weight 1.34 lb (0.61 kg)
Battery and charging 4,000 mAh battery; USB-C charging port
Blade Six-point stainless-steel blade
Charge and blend claim “15+ blends per 1 hour charge,” as advertised by BlendJet; not an independently measured result

These specifications and the battery-life claim come from the manufacturer’s BlendJet 2 product page. The available information does not establish independent results for blend quality, noise, durability, or real-world battery life, so this review does not treat the advertised blend count as a tested runtime.

How long does a BlendJet 2 charge last?

BlendJet advertises “15+ blends” from a one-hour charge. Its user guide, however, says to charge for about 1.5 hours for a full charge and also claims 15+ blends. Those are manufacturer statements, not independently verified battery-life results; actual runtime is not established here. The guide describes a blend cycle of 20 seconds. How to clean and use it, according to the guide

The guide’s operating instructions are straightforward, but they are not a substitute for the CPSC’s current discard direction for affected products.

  • Add liquid before solid ingredients.
  • Leave room at the top of the jar rather than filling it completely.
  • Blend using a 20-second cycle.
  • Clean immediately after use.
  • Do not charge the blender when it is wet, put it in a dishwasher, or submerge it.

Should you buy or keep a BlendJet 2?

No. This is not an ordinary buying decision: the CPSC says the recall remedy is unavailable and tells consumers to discard affected products, not donate or resell them. Do not buy a replacement base as a workaround; a replacement part does not resolve the recalled product’s safety status.

If you are choosing a different portable blender, check the specific model’s current recall and safety status, whether its manufacturer still provides support, capacity, charging method and stated runtime, cleaning requirements, and size and weight. Those are useful comparison criteria; no alternative model has been verified or tested here.
