Bing’s homepage quiz is often described as a daily feature that appears on the Bing image of the day. That description comes from Microsoft’s 2016 documentation, when Bing showed a graduation-cap icon on the homepage and used it to launch a three-question quiz.

That exact experience cannot currently be verified as a universal feature. The live Bing homepage is titled “Search – Microsoft Bing” and, in the current page retrieved for this guide, does not expose a text label, button, or menu item called “Homepage Quiz,” “Daily Quiz,” or simply “Quiz.” Availability may depend on your market, account, browser session, or a temporary Microsoft promotion.

What the Bing homepage quiz was

Microsoft’s official June 2016 description presented the homepage quiz as a short way to explore the daily Bing image. Users hovered over a graduation-cap icon on bing.com, saw the first question, and answered a total of three questions. Bing then displayed a score that could be shared.

Microsoft also described access to quizzes from previous days, a Friday Weekly Trends Quiz in the Popular Now carousel, and separate Rewards quizzes available twice a week. Those details belong to that 2016 product announcement; they are not current instructions that Microsoft still guarantees.

Can you still open a daily quiz from Bing’s homepage?

There is no current, universal click path that can be confirmed from Bing’s live homepage. In particular, the commonly repeated instruction to “hover over the graduation cap” should be treated as a historical path, not a guaranteed feature.

If you want to check whether the feature is available in your own Bing session, use this procedure:

  1. Open https://www.bing.com/.
  2. Check the image area and the controls around the search box for a quiz card, graduation-cap icon, or other interactive prompt.
  3. Hover over or select the prompt only if it is visibly present. Do not assume that an icon described on older websites still exists in the current interface.
  4. If a quiz opens, complete it in the Bing page or panel that appears. The number of questions and any points should be taken from that live interface.
  5. If no quiz prompt appears, do not keep looking for a hidden “Daily Quiz” menu. The feature may not be available in your market or current account experience.

How Microsoft Rewards fits in

Microsoft’s current Rewards site says members can earn points by completing quizzes and daily activities. It does not, however, identify a current feature named “Bing’s Homepage Quiz” or provide a homepage-quiz button path.

To check current activities, go to rewards.bing.com and sign in with a Microsoft account. The current Rewards navigation includes:

Section What to check
Dashboard Your points balance, progress, and available account activity.
Earn Current earning activities, which can include quizzes and daily tasks.
Redeem Available rewards and redemption options.
About Program information, eligibility details, and current rules.
Refer and Earn Referral-related opportunities where available.

A Microsoft account is required to join Rewards. Opening the current Earn or Dashboard destinations without an authenticated session redirects to Microsoft consumer-account sign-in.

Do not confuse search limits with quiz limits

The current Rewards FAQ lists limits for qualifying Bing searches, not for homepage quizzes:

Rewards level Searches per day Points per qualifying search
Member Up to 5 5
Silver Up to 10 5
Gold Up to 20 5

These figures should not be quoted as a daily quiz question limit. Microsoft does not use this FAQ information to establish a fixed number of homepage-quiz attempts or questions.

How to find claimable Rewards points

If you see a monthly points claim on the Rewards website, complete the claim there:

  1. Open https://rewards.bing.com/ and sign in.
  2. Look at the top-right area of the page for a blue “Ready to claim” box.
  3. Select the box to open the right-side details panel.
  4. Follow the claim action in that panel and confirm that the points were added.

Opening a Rewards flyout from Bing is not necessarily enough. The current claim process must be completed on the Rewards site.

Why the quiz may not appear

Several explanations are more likely than a browser fault:

  • Regional availability: Microsoft says earning methods, rewards, and features vary by market.
  • Account state: Some Rewards activities require you to be signed in with the Microsoft account enrolled in Rewards.
  • Changed interface: Bing’s homepage layout and promotional modules can change without preserving older icons or labels.
  • Temporary activity: A quiz may be part of a campaign or limited-time experience rather than a permanent homepage control.
  • Different product surface: A quiz may appear under Rewards’ Earn area rather than directly on bing.com.

Microsoft also applies point-earning limits, and not every feature is available in every market. Therefore, a missing quiz does not automatically indicate that your browser, account, or computer is broken.

Practical troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that you are using the official domains bing.com and rewards.bing.com.
  2. Sign in to your Microsoft account, then reload both pages.
  3. Check the Earn section of Rewards instead of relying only on the homepage.
  4. Try a normal desktop browser if you are viewing Bing inside an embedded browser or another app.
  5. Disable extensions that hide page elements, block scripts, or alter the new-tab page.
  6. Check your account’s market and the eligibility information in the Rewards site.
  7. Do not install an extension or enter Microsoft credentials into a third-party page merely because it advertises a “Bing Homepage Quiz.”

What to expect if the quiz appears

The historical Microsoft version was short and image-led: three questions followed by a score. A current quiz, if offered in your account, may use different wording, question counts, scoring, or Rewards treatment. Read the live instructions rather than relying on a fixed number copied from an older guide.

Also distinguish entertainment from earning. A quiz shown on Bing is not automatically a Rewards activity, and a Rewards activity is not necessarily displayed on the Bing homepage. Only the current Rewards interface can confirm whether a particular task awards points.

Bottom line on Bing’s homepage quiz

The Bing homepage quiz is a real historical Microsoft feature, but the old graduation-cap instructions are not a verified universal route today. Open Bing and look for an explicit quiz prompt; if none appears, sign in at Microsoft Rewards Earn and check the activities available to your account. Treat market availability, account requirements, and the live page—not third-party promises—as the authority.

FAQ

Is Bing’s Homepage Quiz still available?

It may be available to some users or markets, but a universal current homepage quiz cannot be verified from Bing’s live page. The graduation-cap entry point is documented by Microsoft in 2016, not as a current guaranteed interface.

Where is the Bing Daily Quiz button?

The current Bing homepage retrieved for this guide does not show a button or text label named “Daily Quiz,” “Homepage Quiz,” or “Quiz.” If the feature is offered to you, it should appear as an explicit homepage prompt; otherwise check the Microsoft Rewards Earn page.

Do I need a Microsoft account?

You need a Microsoft account to join Microsoft Rewards. Bing itself can be used for searching without Rewards, but account sign-in may be required for account-specific activities and points.

How many questions are in the Bing homepage quiz?

Microsoft’s historical 2016 version had three questions. Microsoft’s current Rewards information does not establish a fixed question count for a current homepage quiz, so do not assume every version has three questions.

Does every Bing quiz award Microsoft Rewards points?

No automatic guarantee should be assumed. Microsoft’s Rewards FAQ mentions quizzes and daily activities, but the current interface and activity details determine whether a particular quiz awards points.

Are Bing search limits the same as quiz limits?

No. Microsoft currently lists up to 5 qualifying searches per day for Member, 10 for Silver, and 20 for Gold, with 5 points per qualifying search. Those are search limits, not homepage-quiz limits.

The Bottom Line

Use the live interface as the source of truth: Bing’s old three-question graduation-cap quiz is documented history, not a currently verified universal feature. Check Bing for an explicit prompt, then check Rewards > Earn for account-specific quizzes and activities. Availability and points vary by market and account.
