Titan’s integration with Squarespace gives businesses a way to create custom-domain email alongside a Squarespace website or domain. The service, called Essential Email by Titan, is hosted by Titan—not by Squarespace—and includes an inbox, calendar and contacts. Squarespace also offers Google Workspace for customers who need a broader collaboration suite.
What the Titan–Squarespace partnership provides
Squarespace documents Titan as one of its integrations for professional email at a custom domain. A customer can associate an address such as name@yourcompany.com with a domain used on Squarespace, while Titan operates the mail service behind that address.
The arrangement separates website hosting from email hosting. Squarespace can host the site and manage the domain relationship, but the mailbox itself remains external. Squarespace’s help documentation states: “Your email is always hosted externally, even though your site is hosted by Squarespace.” An existing custom-email provider can also remain in use; moving a domain or website to Squarespace does not by itself require moving mail.

Squarespace labels the integrated purchase flow “No technical setup required.” That describes the normal product path in Squarespace; it does not mean every domain situation is identical. Existing DNS records, a third-party registrar or a nonstandard mail setup may still require administrative work.
How this differs from hosting a Squarespace website or domain
Website hosting
Website hosting stores and delivers pages, images and other site content to visitors. It does not automatically create mailboxes for the domain.

Domain registration and DNS
A domain is the address used by both a website and email. DNS records tell the internet where web traffic and mail should go. A domain connected to Squarespace can therefore point web traffic to Squarespace while mail records point to Titan or another provider.

Email hosting stores messages, handles delivery and provides the inbox, calendar and contacts. Under this integration, Titan supplies that service. Paying for a Squarespace site or domain alone should not be treated as a subscription to email hosting.
Essential Email by Titan versus Google Workspace
Squarespace presents Google Workspace as an alternative for customers who need more than a mailbox and personal productivity tools. Its product page lists Google Workspace as starting at $7 per user per month, also a point-in-time displayed price that can change by plan, region and billing conditions.

Choose Titan when the requirement is a branded mailbox with the listed calendar and contacts, especially if keeping the setup and cost focused on email. Choose Google Workspace when shared files, meetings, real-time document work or Google’s additional collaboration features are central to how the organization works. The prices do not establish that one service is faster, more reliable or better for every business.

What setup may involve
Using Squarespace’s integrated purchase flow
- Use a domain associated with the Squarespace account.
- Select Essential Email by Titan and choose the mailbox address and user quantity.
- Complete the subscription through the Squarespace account, where Squarespace says billing is managed.
- If replacing an existing mailbox, use the documented IMAP migration option and preserve the old service until mail and historical data have been checked.
When DNS records need attention
Titan’s support documentation for Squarespace domains lists the MX hosts mx1.titan.email and mx2.titan.email, along with an SPF TXT record. These records direct incoming mail to Titan and authorize sending. Do not add or replace records blindly: first identify the domain’s current mail provider, remove conflicting MX entries only when the migration is intentional, and follow Titan’s current SPF instructions exactly. Squarespace’s no-technical-setup description applies to its integrated route, while manual DNS changes may be necessary in other configurations.
Migration and account decisions to make first
- Count users: pricing is per user, so shared addresses and aliases should be mapped before ordering.
- Inventory existing mail: record the current provider, mailbox names, forwarding rules and any applications that send mail.
- Plan the cutover: IMAP can move existing messages, but DNS propagation and new-message delivery should be monitored after records change.
- Protect continuity: keep access to the old provider until incoming mail, outgoing mail, calendars, contacts and historical messages are confirmed.
What the partnership does—and does not—mean
The partnership expands Squarespace’s email choices; it does not turn Squarespace website hosting into native Squarespace mail hosting. Customers get a supported path to Titan’s custom-domain service, with Squarespace account billing and an advertised simplified setup, while Titan remains the external email host. Google Workspace remains available when the business needs a larger collaboration platform.
