There is no single best Yandex Disk alternative for everyone. Google Drive suits people who work in Google tools, OneDrive fits Microsoft 365 users, Dropbox offers a straightforward file-sharing plan with recovery features, and Proton Drive is a candidate for people who prioritize end-to-end encryption. These are use-case matches, not independently tested rankings; choose based on how you work, what storage you need, and which security and recovery controls matter to you.
How to choose a Yandex Disk replacement
Start with the job you need the service to do. A tool that integrates with the documents you already use may be more convenient than one with a larger advertised storage allowance. Likewise, a privacy-focused service may be a better fit than a broad productivity suite if end-to-end encryption is your priority.
- Documents and collaboration: Consider whether you want to work within Google tools or Microsoft 365.
- Storage and price: Compare the capacity, billing term, currency, and country-specific plan page. The figures below are snapshots from vendor pages accessed in 2026, not guaranteed current quotes.
- Privacy: Distinguish a provider’s description of its encryption from an independent assessment. Proton describes Drive as end-to-end encrypted; that is a vendor claim, not a cross-provider audit.
- Sharing and recovery: Check transfer limits and how long deleted files can be restored.
- Backup: Decide whether you need automatic access across devices, a separate copy of important files, or both.

These plans are not a like-for-like value ranking: their billing terms, currencies, regions, and included features differ. The cited sources also do not establish comparable performance, a cross-provider independent security audit, complete migration, or availability in every country. Check each provider’s current local plan page before deciding.

Yandex Support advises backing up important data such as photos, documents, videos, and music so it is not lost if something happens to a device. An external hard drive is one possible local-copy option, but the right capacity depends on your files. Neither the cited guidance nor the provider pages establish a guaranteed, complete transfer workflow between these services.

- Verify the result. Check that the expected folders and files appear in the new account and can be accessed before removing anything from Yandex Disk.
- Keep the original until verification is complete. Do not delete the old copy simply because an upload appears to have finished.
