For a premium, camera-focused Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the clearest pick in the available reviews. For a lower price class, compare the Xiaomi 17T Pro, especially if you want a 5x telephoto camera. The Xiaomi 17T is another useful reference point: Xiaomi’s global specifications list a stabilized 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 6.59-inch 120Hz display and a 6500mAh typical-capacity battery. These are attributed recommendations and manufacturer specifications, not results from a shared hands-on test.
Xiaomi’s lineup, prices and packages vary by country, so check local availability, warranty and specifications before buying.
Which Xiaomi phone should I buy?
Start with what matters most: camera capability, local price, size and display, battery and charging, or support where you live. The shortlist below covers Xiaomi-branded models; Redmi and POCO phones are outside its scope.

|---|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi 17 Ultra | Premium, camera-focused use | TechRadar’s roundup, last updated 17 July 2026, ranks it as its top Xiaomi phone. Its review and Android Central’s global-model review discuss its camera strengths. | Current local price, regional model and warranty. TechRadar’s review-time starting price was £1,299 / AU$1,799 in those markets; it is not a universal or necessarily current price. |
| Xiaomi 17T Pro | A lower price class with an interest in telephoto reach | TechRadar’s review discusses its 5x telephoto camera and trade-offs in its price class. | Current local price and whether its camera and other features justify the difference from alternatives in your market. |
| Xiaomi 17T | A concrete specification-led comparison | Xiaomi’s global specifications list a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 12MP ultra-wide, alongside a 6.59-inch 120Hz display. | Confirm local specifications, package contents and price. Manufacturer specifications do not establish real-world image quality or battery life. |
The 17 Ultra’s top placement is TechRadar’s editorial judgment, not a universal result. The available evidence does not establish a common test protocol across these models, so the shortlist should not be read as a single lab ranking.

What is the best Xiaomi phone for camera quality?
Xiaomi 17 Ultra: the premium camera choice
TechRadar’s current Xiaomi roundup puts the 17 Ultra first, and its individual review describes it as a camera contender. Android Central’s review of the global model reports a 200MP telephoto with continuous optical zoom from 3.2x to 4.3x. That description applies to the global model; Android Central distinguishes it from a Leica Edition limited to China, so do not assume the two versions share identical specifications.
Choose it if camera capability is your main priority and its local price fits your budget. TechRadar listed a review-time starting price of £1,299 in the UK and AU$1,799 in Australia; those figures describe the reviewed markets and time, not a current global price.

Xiaomi 17T Pro: compare its 5x telephoto
TechRadar’s review discusses the 17T Pro’s 5x telephoto and trade-offs in its price class. Its review period was one week, with first testing in May 2026. Treat this as a credible alternative to investigate, not proof that it offers better value: compare current local prices and the complete camera systems before deciding.
Xiaomi 17T: published hardware, not a camera verdict
Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP periscope telephoto described as 115mm-equivalent, and a 12MP ultra-wide for the global 17T. These figures tell you what hardware the manufacturer specifies, but they do not establish how the phone performs in everyday photos, video, low light or zoom comparisons.

Which Xiaomi phone is best value?
There is no established universal value winner in the available evidence. Value depends on the price and storage tier offered in your country, along with the features you will use. The 17T Pro is worth comparing if you want telephoto capability at a lower price class than the premium flagship; that does not make it the best value at every local price.
- Compare the current local price for the same storage tier, rather than relying on a review-time price from another market.
- Include any cost of a required accessory. Xiaomi says the 17T box does not include a power adapter and recommends a Xiaomi 67W adapter or above.
- Check the local warranty, service availability and network-band compatibility before treating a lower price as a better deal.
What do the Xiaomi 17T specifications tell you?
Xiaomi’s global specification page describes the 17T as a mid-range comparison point, but its listed figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results.
