Big Walk is not currently available on Xbox. House House lists Windows and Mac (through Steam and the Mac App Store), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 as its platforms, and its FAQ says no other platforms are planned at this time. The game launched on August 4, 2026, so this status is dated October 16, 2026 and could change later.

If you want the closest confirmed Xbox substitute for a planned two-person session, A Way Out is the clearest match: it is a cooperative action-adventure for two people with local or online split-screen play and an Xbox One release. Overcooked 2 and Peak are often mentioned alongside Big Walk in broad co-op recommendations, but their current Xbox editions, pricing, and subscription availability should be checked in the Xbox Store before you buy.

What makes a good Xbox alternative to Big Walk?

Big Walk is designed around conversation, cooperation and shared discovery rather than solo play. House House describes it as “a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking” and as a hand-crafted adventure intended to be played from start to finish with friends. Its stated player range is two to 12 people online.

That combination matters when choosing an Xbox replacement. A game can be labelled “co-op” yet still feel wrong if it is mainly a reflex test, assumes one player can carry the team, or has no way for two people to stay involved. Compare candidates on five practical axes:

  • Communication dependence: Do players need to discuss clues, coordinate actions or make decisions together, or can one person do most of the work?
  • Activity mix: Is the emphasis on puzzles and exploration, or on combat, precision and time pressure?
  • Group size: Does the game support exactly two players, a larger online party, or both?
  • Co-op format: Is play online-only, local split-screen, couch co-op, cross-platform, or a combination?
  • Structure: Does it encourage open-ended wandering and social experimentation, or guide you through a directed story campaign?

Big Walk is multiplayer-only, requires at least two players and does not offer couch co-op, according to GamesRadar. That means an Xbox player should decide first whether the important part is the conversational, exploratory mood or simply having a cooperative adventure to complete together.

Is Big Walk on Xbox?

No. As of October 16, 2026, Big Walk is not listed for Xbox. House House’s official FAQ names Windows and Mac via Steam and the Mac App Store, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The same FAQ says that no other platforms are planned at this time.

This is a platform statement, not a promise that Xbox support can never arrive. Platform plans can change after launch, so check House House’s current FAQ and the Xbox Store if you are reading this later. There is no documented Xbox edition to purchase or install at the date above, and the available information does not establish Xbox backward-compatibility support.

At-a-glance comparison

Game Xbox status in the available documentation Co-op details established How it fits a Big Walk fan What to verify
Big Walk Not listed for Xbox Online, two to 12 players; multiplayer-only; no couch co-op The reference point: communication, puzzles, discoveries and a wide-open world Whether House House adds Xbox support after October 16, 2026
A Way Out Xbox One release documented Two-player cooperative action-adventure; local or online split-screen Best confirmed choice for two friends who want a complete, directed story The current Xbox storefront edition, regional price and any subscription inclusion
Overcooked 2 Current Xbox listing not established here Not stated in the available documentation Named by GamesRadar in a broad co-op recommendation context; consider it only after checking the Xbox listing and deciding whether its activity mix suits you Xbox platform, edition, player limit, local/online modes, price and Game Pass status
Peak Current Xbox listing not established here Not stated in the available documentation Also named by GamesRadar in a broad co-op context; treat it as a candidate to investigate rather than a confirmed Xbox recommendation Xbox platform, edition, player limit, co-op format, price and Game Pass status

The table separates confirmed facts from items that need a live storefront check. Microsoft’s Xbox Store has an action-and-adventure category with a cross-platform co-op filter; use that catalog to confirm the exact edition and region before purchasing any candidate.

Best confirmed two-player substitute: A Way Out

Why it is the safest recommendation

A Way Out is documented as a cooperative action-adventure with local or online split-screen co-op and an Xbox One release. It is therefore the only option in this comparison with both a stated Xbox platform and clearly documented two-person cooperation. If your plan is “two friends, one campaign, finish it together,” it answers that need directly.

The split-screen design also solves a common problem with online recommendations: both players remain part of the same scene and can see the other player’s situation. Local play is available when you are together, while online split-screen supports friends in different locations. Those are materially different from Big Walk’s online-only model, so choose A Way Out when shared-screen or story-led play is more important than a large, free-roaming group.

  • Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.

  • Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
  • Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.

Where it differs from Big Walk

  • Scale: A Way Out is for two players, not Big Walk’s stated two-to-12 online range.
  • Structure: It is a focused action-adventure with a directed story, whereas Big Walk is described as a wide-open, hand-crafted adventure built around wandering, discoveries and conversation.
  • Local play: A Way Out supports local split-screen; Big Walk has no couch co-op.
  • Tone and pacing: The available description identifies A Way Out as an action-adventure. If your priority is low-pressure exploration and talking, confirm that its action-oriented structure is acceptable before choosing it.

Who should choose it

Pick A Way Out if you have exactly two players, want a start-to-finish campaign, or need local couch play. It is less suitable if your group has three or more people or if the defining requirement is an open-ended social world rather than a directed narrative.

Overcooked 2: a candidate for highly coordinated co-op

GamesRadar names Overcooked 2 alongside Big Walk and Peak in a broad co-op recommendation context. That makes it worth checking for readers who enjoy games where talking and timing are central, but the available material does not establish its current Xbox edition, player count, local modes, online modes, price or Game Pass status.

Do not treat a general recommendation mention as proof that a particular Xbox version is available in your region. Search the Xbox Store by the exact title and inspect the product page for the platform label, edition, controller requirements and multiplayer description. If the listing does not match your intended setup, it is not a practical Big Walk replacement for that session.

Questions to answer before buying

  • Does the listing say Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or both?
  • Are the modes you need local, online, or both?
  • Is the listed player range appropriate for your party?
  • Does the store page identify cross-platform play, or would every participant need an Xbox copy?
  • Is the displayed price a recurring subscription benefit, a one-time purchase, or a time-limited promotion?

These checks are especially important because Big Walk’s appeal is not simply that it is multiplayer. Its identity depends on conversation, teamwork and discovery. A candidate that is technically co-op but dominated by time pressure or reflexes may be a poor fit even when its store page is correct.

Peak: investigate it as an Xbox possibility, not a confirmed pick

Peak is another title GamesRadar mentions in the same broad co-op recommendation context as Big Walk. However, the available documentation does not establish an Xbox listing, edition, player count or co-op format for Peak. It should therefore remain a watch-list candidate until the Xbox Store confirms those details.

Use the same five-axis test you would apply to any alternative: how much communication is required, whether exploration outweighs reflex play, how many people can join, which local or online modes are supported, and whether the structure is open-ended or campaign-led. A game can resemble Big Walk in one dimension and differ sharply in the others.

Choosing by your actual group

Two players on one Xbox

Start with A Way Out because local split-screen is documented and Big Walk does not offer couch co-op. Confirm that the Xbox edition shown in the store is compatible with your console generation before purchase.

Two players in different locations

A Way Out is again the documented option, because online split-screen co-op is explicitly described. For Overcooked 2 or Peak, do not assume online support from the fact that they are discussed as co-op games; verify the individual Xbox product page.

Three to 12 friends

Big Walk’s stated online range is two to 12, but it is not available on Xbox. A Way Out cannot fill this role because its documented format is two-player. For a larger Xbox party, use the Xbox Store’s cross-platform co-op filter and check each title’s maximum player count rather than relying on a generic “multiplayer” label.

A group that wants exploration more than action

Big Walk is explicitly framed around puzzles, discoveries, talking and a wide-open world. A Way Out is an action-adventure with a directed story, so it is a structural substitute, not a one-for-one mood match. For any other candidate, read the store description for the balance between exploration, puzzles, combat and time pressure before committing.

A group that needs local and online flexibility

A Way Out has both local and online split-screen documented. Big Walk is online-only and has no couch co-op. For other games, verify each mode separately: “online multiplayer” does not imply local play, and “co-op” does not identify whether the game uses split-screen, shared-screen or separate displays.

How to verify an Xbox recommendation before you buy

  1. Open the Xbox Store listing. Use the action-and-adventure category and its cross-platform co-op filter as a starting point, then search the exact title.
  2. Check the platform badge. Confirm whether the listing is for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or both. Do not infer compatibility from a PC, PlayStation or Switch listing.
  3. Read the multiplayer section. Record the minimum and maximum players, whether play is local or online, and whether split-screen is specified.
  4. Check cross-platform language. If friends use different systems, look for an explicit cross-platform statement; otherwise assume that every player may need a compatible Xbox version.
  5. Check the edition and region. Prices, bundles and availability can vary by country and can change over time.
  6. Check subscription status at checkout. Game Pass inclusion is a live commercial detail, not a permanent property of the game.
  7. Confirm the refund and add-on terms. This is useful when a listing has several editions or optional content and your group needs the same version.

Perform this check immediately before publication, purchase or a group play session. The Xbox catalog is the authoritative place for current Xbox platform, edition, price and subscription information.

Common mistakes when replacing Big Walk on Xbox

Assuming “co-op” means two-player story co-op

Some games use co-op for optional modes, large parties or competitive activities. Big Walk is intended to be played cooperatively from start to finish, while A Way Out is documented as a two-player cooperative action-adventure. Look for those specific terms instead of relying on a genre tag.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Assuming a PC or console listing transfers to Xbox

Big Walk’s Windows, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms do not create an Xbox license. A title mentioned in a cross-platform article still needs a current Xbox Store listing. Platform availability must be checked title by title.

Overlooking local multiplayer

Big Walk has no couch co-op. That is decisive if two people plan to share one television. A Way Out’s local split-screen support makes it a better fit for that setup, while any other candidate needs an explicit local-mode confirmation.

Ignoring party size

A two-player campaign cannot serve a group of five, and a large-party game may not provide the intimate coordination two friends want. Write down the number of players before comparing games, then verify the store’s stated limit.

Buying on an old price or subscription assumption

Prices, bundles and Game Pass inclusion are changeable storefront data. Check the current Xbox page in your region immediately before purchase instead of relying on an older article or a search snippet.

Bottom line for Xbox players

There is no Xbox version of Big Walk listed as of October 16, 2026, and House House’s FAQ says no additional platforms are planned at this time. For two Xbox players who need a confirmed alternative, A Way Out is the strongest documented choice because it supports local or online split-screen co-op and has an Xbox One release. It trades Big Walk’s open-ended, conversational exploration for a directed action-adventure campaign.

Overcooked 2 and Peak may be worth investigating if their current Xbox listings match your group, but the available information does not establish their Xbox editions or multiplayer specifications. Verify every candidate in the Xbox Store, especially platform generation, player limit, local or online mode, regional price and Game Pass status.
