Use your strongest upgraded weapon for Anna, not the Claymore. The Claymore is found in the Village Church after Anna, the Bride Drowned in Tears, is defeated, so it cannot help with that boss. Start Till Death by examining the wreath at Anna’s arena altar, collect the Red Ribbon from the grave beyond the church, then return the ribbon to the wreath and inspect it again after resting at a lantern. Completion awards Tomorrow’s Promise and 3,000 Catalysts.
For upgrades, Saber, Rapier and Claymore all reach level 10 and use the same escalating blade-material pattern. Pick the moveset that fits your timing rather than assuming the Claymore is automatically best, and save the single Quintessential Blade Material until you are certain which weapon you will keep.
What the Till Death quest requires
Till Death becomes available only after Anna, the Bride Drowned in Tears, has been defeated in Cursed Hollow. The quest does not begin from a conventional menu marker. Its first interaction is the wreath at the altar in Anna’s arena.

- Defeat Anna in Cursed Hollow. Bring the weapon that is already strongest and most comfortable in your inventory; the Claymore is not available yet.
- Inspect the wreath. After the fight, interact with the wreath at the arena altar to start Till Death. This records the first journal step.
- Reach the Village Church. Continue through the chapter until you enter the church section. Take the Claymore inside the church, then leave through the back exit.
- Follow the outside path. Stay on the exterior route and choose the right-hand dead end. Watch the blue memory there and pick up the Red Ribbon at the grave.
- Return to the wreath. Go back to Anna’s arena and place the ribbon on the wreath.
- Rest and inspect again. Rest at a lantern, then examine the wreath a second time. This final inspection completes the quest and grants its reward.
These interactions make up the quest’s four journal steps even though the physical route has several separate actions. If the wreath does not complete the objective immediately after you place the ribbon, the lantern rest is the required transition; inspecting the wreath before resting will not finish the quest.

Finding the Red Ribbon without missing the turn
The Red Ribbon is not in Anna’s arena and is not inside the church. You can reach it only after taking the Claymore from the Village Church and exiting through the rear.
The exact route
- Enter the Village Church during the chapter progression after Anna.
- Interact with the Claymore and add it to your inventory.
- Use the back exit rather than retracing the church entrance.
- Follow the outside path until it branches toward a dead end.
- Take the right-hand dead end.
- Watch the blue memory at the grave, then interact with the grave to collect the Red Ribbon.
The blue memory is a useful confirmation that you are in the correct branch. If you reach a different dead end without seeing it, backtrack to the exterior junction and take the right-hand option. The ribbon pickup is a separate interaction after the memory, so check the grave itself rather than assuming the scene awarded the item automatically.
Which weapon should you use against Anna?
Use the best-upgraded weapon you already own. Anna is fought before the Claymore becomes available, making a Claymore recommendation for the boss mechanically impossible. Your practical choice is the Saber or Rapier you have invested in, whichever has a moveset that lets you maintain damage while avoiding her attacks.

The table describes decision criteria rather than a developer ranking. No official damage tier list is published for these three weapons. A lower-level weapon with a familiar moveset can outperform a nominally stronger but unfamiliar one because missed timings cost more than a small upgrade difference.
How to prepare before entering Cursed Hollow
- Upgrade the weapon you can execute consistently, rather than holding all materials for the future Claymore.
- Carry enough healing resources to survive failed attempts; Tomorrow’s Promise cannot be earned until after Anna.
- Do not spend a Quintessential Blade Material in anticipation of the church pickup. The material is the level-10 requirement and is the scarcest item in the shared progression.

The sequence totals six Crude Blade Materials, six Pure Blade Materials, three Distilled Blade Materials and one Quintessential Blade Material for a single weapon. Those totals are arithmetic from the level-by-level requirements; the available sources and any broader material economy are not established here. Because every listed melee weapon caps at level 10, the meaningful choice is your moveset and resource timing, not a different maximum level.
Should you upgrade the Claymore immediately?
Take the Claymore during the church route, but delay the final-tier investment if you are undecided. Use it unupgraded or lightly upgraded against regular encounters to learn its reach, recovery and attack commitment. If its rhythm suits you better than the weapon used against Anna, you can transition while keeping the Quintessential Blade Material in reserve. If you prefer the Saber or Rapier, there is no quest requirement to switch simply because the Claymore is a story pickup.
Tomorrow’s Promise: what the reward changes
Tomorrow’s Promise is an Amber that changes the Ferrofluid Flask from an immediate heal into health regeneration over time. It is therefore a sustained-recovery option, not a stronger version of an instant emergency heal.
When regeneration is advantageous
- Use it when an encounter gives you enough space to survive while the effect ticks.
- It can fit a cautious rhythm in which you disengage, activate the Flask and return after recovery has accumulated.
- It becomes more attractive when your defensive habits prevent interruption and you are not drinking the Flask at one hit from defeat.
When an instant heal is safer
- Choose an instant-heal setup for fights with constant pressure, short attack windows or unavoidable burst damage.
- Regeneration cannot rescue you quickly if the next hit lands before enough health returns.
- Do not treat the Amber as a universal upgrade: its value depends on whether the arena permits time between attacks.
Duplicate copies and rank
A duplicate copy of Tomorrow’s Promise raises its rank. No numerical healing rate for each rank is officially published, so compare the effect by the time you can safely remain alive rather than assuming a specific percentage or duration.
Strong Amber choices for a general build
A launch-build community analysis using Steam build 25907482 and data dated October 13, 2026 rated five Ambers as the strongest general options. These are guide assessments, not an official developer tier list. Their usefulness depends on the way you deal damage, take risks and use the Ferrofluid Flask.

Choosing by damage output
Warrior’s Fury is the clearest documented burst-damage option because its rank-III effect has a defined eight-second duration and +30% value. It is strongest when the encounter supplies a reliable kill cadence. Glass Soldier offers persistent melee damage rather than a timed kill window, but its fragility makes every defensive mistake more costly.
Choosing by survivability
Iron Grip addresses a specific failure: being hit out of the Flask animation. Tomorrow’s Promise can also support survivability, but only when regeneration has time to work. Dominatus supplies recovery through critical attacks, so it favors an offensive defense—staying alive by attacking accurately—rather than a retreat-and-heal plan.
Choosing by critical frequency
Dominatus should be considered only if your weapon and habits produce regular critical attacks. A theoretical critical opportunity is not the same as reliable healing during a boss attempt. If your build does not generate crits consistently, Iron Grip or Tomorrow’s Promise offers a more predictable recovery plan, subject to the time available in the encounter.
Choosing by Flask safety
Pair a regeneration-based Flask with Iron Grip when interrupted healing is the main reason attempts fail. The pairing solves the interruption problem, but it does not turn regeneration into an instant heal; you still need enough health and space to wait for the effect.
Build recommendations for common playstyles
Aggressive kill-chain build
Use the weapon whose attacks let you finish ordinary enemies quickly, then consider Warrior’s Fury. The rank-III +30% damage effect lasts eight seconds after a kill, so route planning matters: trigger it shortly before a dangerous target rather than wasting the entire window on travel.

High-risk melee build
Glass Soldier is appropriate only when you are comfortable with the increased fragility. Keep your weapon upgraded through the material tiers you can justify, but do not let the damage bonus encourage trades you would normally avoid. A faster kill does not compensate for repeatedly losing attempts to one mistake.
Critical-attack sustain build
Dominatus rewards a build that produces critical attacks as part of its normal rhythm. It is not a substitute for learning enemy patterns: missed or non-critical attacks provide no documented healing benefit.
Healing-under-pressure build
Iron Grip is the defensive choice when Flask interruption is the defining problem. Combine it with either an instant-heal arrangement for emergencies or Tomorrow’s Promise when the arena gives you time to regenerate.
Amber-amplification build
Perfect Copy is most valuable after you have several Ambers worth raising. It is a multiplier-style choice, so its payoff depends on the ranks of the other effects rather than on a standalone damage or healing number.

- After collecting the Red Ribbon, return to Anna’s arena in Cursed Hollow.
- Interact with the wreath and place the ribbon.
- Travel to a lantern and rest.
- Return to the wreath and inspect it again.
- Verify that the journal records completion and that Tomorrow’s Promise and 3,000 Catalysts have been awarded.
The reward is fixed by the quest route: Tomorrow’s Promise plus 3,000 Catalysts. The Claymore itself is obtained earlier in the church sequence and is not the quest-completion reward.

Troubleshooting the most common problems
The quest did not start at the wreath
Confirm that Anna has been defeated first. The wreath interaction becomes relevant only after the Cursed Hollow boss encounter; visiting the altar beforehand does not begin Till Death.
I cannot find the Red Ribbon
Check that you took the Claymore from the Village Church, exited through the back, and selected the right-hand dead end outside. The ribbon is at the grave after the blue memory, not in the church interior.
The ribbon is placed but the quest is still active
Rest at a lantern after placing it, then inspect the wreath again. The second inspection is the completion trigger.

The three weapons share the same level-10 ceiling and material sequence. Continue with the weapon whose moveset you can use effectively; reserve the Quintessential Blade Material before committing to a different level-10 choice.
Tomorrow’s Promise feels weaker than my old Flask
That is expected when you need emergency healing. Tomorrow’s Promise trades immediate recovery for regeneration over time. Use it only in encounters where you can remain alive while the effect ticks, or switch to an instant-heal setup for sustained pressure.
