For close-range pushes, use the Super-45; the MP43 is the low-cost alternative. At mid range, the T-21 gives the best budget balance, while the M4 is the premium all-round choice. For long sightlines, choose the SVD or BMR-308 when you want semi-automatic follow-up shots, or the AMR when one powerful bolt-action hit matters most.
WARDOGS currently does not have a documented conventional perk-slot system. The practical “perk combinations” described by current guides are weapon, optic, ammunition, armor, magazines, medical supplies, and class gadgets. Treat the setups below as guide-based recommendations for the current early-access build, not tested or official best-in-slot loadouts.
Quick recommendations by distance
| Engagement distance | Primary recommendation | Alternative | Why it fits | Purchase price cited by 2026 guides |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Close | Super-45 | MP43 | The Super-45 is built for aggressive room and objective pushes; the MP43 preserves cash. | Super-45: $2,600; MP43: $400 |
| Mid | T-21 | M4 | The T-21 is an economical all-round rifle; the M4 is the higher-cost assault-rifle option. | T-21: $600; M4: $2,800 |
| Long | SVD or BMR-308 | AMR | SVD and BMR-308 support semi-automatic follow-up shots; the AMR emphasizes powerful bolt-action single shots. | Individual prices are not established in the cited guides. |
| General-purpose reach | Galil | Choose according to recoil control and squad role | It can cover longer lanes when you can manage its recoil, without committing to a dedicated precision rifle. | Price is not established in the cited guides. |
These choices come from role-based 2026 guides rather than independent range or time-to-kill testing. Prices and available attachments can change, so check the live vendor and attachment menu before spending match currency.
What “perks” currently means in WARDOGS
The available guidance does not establish a named perk tree, perk slots, or a permanent perk-selection screen. Instead, a useful build is assembled from the weapon and the equipment you can buy or bring into a round. That distinction matters: you should not plan around a specific perk combination that the current interface may not offer.
#1 Best Overall
GamesRadar reported that Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said custom loadouts were planned, but the timing was unconfirmed. His stated reason for delaying a fixed setup was that the team wanted players to keep trying different weapons rather than settling on one configuration while balance data was being collected. Until that feature arrives, treat each purchase as an in-match decision and expect the balance to move during early access.
Close-range combinations
Super-45: the aggressive room-entry setup
The Super-45 is the strongest current recommendation for players who take point in rooms, stairwells, and objectives. KeenGamer and MMOExp list a fire rate of about 1,200 rounds per minute, and KeenGamer lists a $2,600 purchase price. It uses .45 ACP ammunition. That combination of high firing speed and close-pressure role favors short, decisive engagements rather than long peeks.
- Primary: Super-45.
- Optic: Use a dot sight if the current attachment menu offers one; a low-profile sight keeps the weapon usable when entering a room without adding unnecessary magnification.
- Support purchases: Carry extra magazines because a fast-firing weapon can consume ammunition quickly during a push. Keep three to five bandages available before leaving spawn, following PC Gamer’s recommendation.
- Armor: Buy armor before optional upgrades when your remaining cash is limited; surviving the first exchange is more valuable than a marginal sight preference.
- Gadget: Select a gadget that matches the entry route. An RPG adds anti-vehicle or explosive utility, while a hammer is more useful when the squad needs to breach or repair through an objective route.
Use the Super-45 by closing distance under cover, committing to the first target, and withdrawing to reload rather than holding the trigger through an entire room. Its recommendation is about pressure, not versatility: it gives up useful reach compared with a rifle, so do not force it into open sightlines.
MP43: the $400 close-range fallback
The MP43 is the budget close-range option at $400 according to KeenGamer. Choose it when buying a more expensive primary would leave you without ammunition, armor, or a needed gadget. The point of this combination is economic balance: a cheap close-range gun can be more effective than an expensive weapon if the remainder of the kit lets you heal, reload, and reach the objective.
- Pair the MP43 with spare magazines and the same three-to-five-bandage baseline.
- Prioritize armor if the remaining cash allows it.
- Use a dot sight only after essential supplies are covered.
- Stay closer to teammates than you would with the Super-45, because the MP43 is being selected for affordability rather than a documented performance advantage.
The MP43 is therefore the sensible choice for an early-round or low-cash push, while the Super-45 is the dedicated aggressive purchase.
Mid-range combinations
T-21: the economical all-round rifle
The T-21 costs $600 in KeenGamer’s 2026 guide. It is the default mid-range recommendation when you need a rifle that can participate in varied fights while preserving money for ammunition, armor, and gadgets. Its value is not just the sticker price; the lower purchase cost leaves room for the support items that keep a squad operational after the first engagement.
- Buy the T-21 as the primary when most fights are expected across short-to-medium sightlines.
- Choose a low-magnification red dot or holographic sight for faster target acquisition without turning the rifle into a narrow long-range build.
- Reserve money for ammunition and armor before adding optional equipment.
- Add a class gadget based on the squad’s missing capability: binoculars for information, a hammer for construction or breach utility, or an RPG when anti-vehicle power is required.
The T-21 is the best starting point for players who do not yet know how a round will develop. It supports a mixed role without consuming the budget that a premium rifle would require.
M4: the premium mid-range choice
The M4 is listed at $2,800 by KeenGamer and MMOExp. Select it when you can afford the higher entry cost and want a stronger all-round assault-rifle option for repeated medium-distance fights. The evidence supports its positioning as the premium choice, but not a universal damage or accuracy ranking, so do not treat the price as proof that it wins every duel.
- Optic: A red dot or holographic sight keeps the M4 suited to short-to-medium lanes.
- Economy: Do not buy the M4 by stripping away ammunition, armor, or medical supplies; its advantage is wasted if the rest of the kit cannot sustain a fight.
- Team role: Use it as the rifle that connects an entry player and a longer-range teammate, rather than trying to replace a dedicated precision rifle on extreme sightlines.
Choose the M4 over the T-21 when your squad has enough cash for support equipment and you expect to spend much of the round taking or defending medium-range angles. Choose the T-21 when the same money is needed for survival or utility.
Long-range combinations
SVD and BMR-308: semi-automatic follow-up control
The SVD and BMR-308 are the long-range choices when you want reach without relying on a single bolt-action shot. Current guidance describes both as capable of semi-automatic follow-up fire. That makes them suitable for players who can maintain a sightline, correct their aim after the first shot, and keep pressure on a target that survives the opening hit.
Rank #3
- Use a magnified optic only when the attachment menu and the map’s sightlines justify it; magnification can slow target acquisition in closer fights.
- Carry enough ammunition for repeated follow-up shots rather than planning around one hit per target.
- Bring armor and bandages because a long-range player may still be exposed to counter-fire while holding an angle.
- Coordinate with a teammate who can cover a flank or provide close protection; a precision rifle is vulnerable when an opponent closes distance.
Between the two, the available evidence does not establish a definitive winner. Select the rifle whose recoil, sight picture, and available attachments you can control in the live build.

AMR: maximum single-shot emphasis
The AMR is described as a powerful bolt-action option. Its role is different from the SVD and BMR-308: you are trading faster follow-up handling for the impact of a well-placed single shot. It suits a player who is comfortable waiting for a clear target and relocating after firing rather than trying to sustain automatic pressure.
- Take a protected firing position with an exit route before exposing yourself.
- Use the sightline to identify a high-value target instead of firing at every distant movement.
- After the shot, cycle the action and reassess whether the same angle is still safe.
- Keep a close-range teammate or secondary plan nearby; the AMR should not be expected to solve a room entry.
The AMR maximizes single-shot power in the current descriptions, but no cited source provides a universal damage threshold or a tested hit-to-kill result. Verify how armor and hit locations behave in the current patch.
Galil: general-purpose reach with recoil control
The Galil remains a general-purpose rifle that can reach long range when the user controls its recoil. It is the flexible choice for a player who expects both medium and longer lanes and does not want the narrower handling pattern of a dedicated precision weapon.
Use a sight that gives enough clarity for the map without forcing excessive magnification, fire in controlled bursts when recoil begins to move the sight off target, and let a teammate with a more specialized rifle handle the farthest angle. The Galil’s recommendation is conditional on your recoil control, not a claim that it outranges the SVD, BMR-308, or AMR.

Equipment that functions like a perk package
Magazines and ammunition
PC Gamer recommends extra magazines as part of a practical field setup. This is especially important for a fast-firing close-range weapon, but mid- and long-range players also need enough ammunition for missed shots, suppression, and follow-up fire. Buy the reserve before cosmetic or marginal attachments when your starting cash is tight.
Bandages and armor
Carry three to five bandages before leaving spawn, the quantity PC Gamer recommends. Bandages turn a temporary retreat into a recoverable fight, while armor improves the chance of surviving the next exchange. The correct order depends on the vendor’s live prices, but neither should be treated as an afterthought to the primary weapon.
Optics
Use a low-magnification red dot or holographic sight for short-to-medium sightlines. A simple dot sight is also specifically recommended in PC Gamer’s equipment guidance. Move to a magnified optic only when your role is genuinely long-range; excessive magnification makes room entries and sudden flank fights harder.
Class gadgets
Current guidance names binoculars, a hammer, and an RPG as examples of class gadgets.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Binoculars: Reveal enemy positions to the team and can generate XP, money, and assist cash. They are most valuable when your squad lacks information and someone can safely observe rather than shoot.
- Hammer: Choose it when the team’s plan depends on construction, repair, or breach utility.
- RPG: Bring it when the squad needs anti-vehicle capability or explosive pressure. Do not buy it automatically if another teammate already covers that role and the money would be better spent on ammunition or armor.
Because these gadgets occupy the role that players often associate with perks, build around the squad’s missing function instead of stacking identical options.

Cost and purchase planning
| Item | Guide price | How to use the figure |
|---|---|---|
| MP43 | $400 | Lowest-cost close-range purchase cited; leaves the most room for supplies. |
| T-21 | $600 | Economical mid-range rifle that preserves money for ammunition, armor, and gadgets. |
| Super-45 | $2,600 | Close-range pressure weapon; budget for extra magazines and medical supplies. |
| M4 | $2,800 | Premium mid-range assault-rifle option; buy it only when support gear remains affordable. |
| FAL | $6,500 | Price reported by KeenGamer and MMOExp; the cited material does not assign it a specific close-, mid-, or long-range recommendation. |
The FAL’s $6,500 figure is included because both named 2026 guides report it, but the available evidence does not support assigning it a range-specific “best” label. Check the current vendor rather than assuming these figures are permanent.
How to select a build before each round
- Identify the first fight. If the plan starts with a room or objective push, select the Super-45 or the cheaper MP43. If the opening route contains mixed lanes, start with the T-21 or M4.
- Count the squad’s long-range coverage. Add an SVD, BMR-308, AMR, or recoil-controlled Galil when no teammate can hold a distant sightline. Do not duplicate a role if the team instead needs entry pressure or information.
- Reserve survival money. Set aside funds for ammunition, armor, and three to five bandages before buying an optic or expensive primary.
- Assign the missing gadget. Use binoculars for reconnaissance, a hammer for construction or breach work, and an RPG for anti-vehicle needs.
- Match the optic to the map. Red-dot or holographic sights suit short-to-medium lanes; magnification belongs on a deliberate long-range role.
- Recheck the live menu. Confirm the price, ammunition, and attachments in the current vendor and attachment screen because early-access balance changes can invalidate an older purchase plan.
Common mistakes and corrections
Buying the expensive rifle first
A high-cost primary does not compensate for having no armor, ammunition, or healing. If the purchase leaves the rest of the kit empty, step down to the T-21 or MP43 and keep the support equipment.
Using a close-range gun on open lanes
The Super-45 and MP43 are selected for pressure in confined spaces. When the route exposes you to long sightlines, switch to a mid- or long-range rifle or let a teammate with the appropriate weapon lead that section.
Recommended Free Tools
Adding magnification to every rifle
Magnification is useful only when it matches the engagement distance. A red dot or holographic sight is faster for short-to-medium fights and is the current recommendation for those lanes.
Treating a guide recommendation as a tested ranking
The current choices are role-based recommendations, not independent testing. No cited material establishes universal damage, recoil, or time-to-kill supremacy. Use the live attachment menu and your own recoil control as the final check.
Assuming custom loadouts already exist
Custom loadouts were reported as planned, with no confirmed delivery timing. Until the feature is available, expect to rebuild the combination through the in-match purchase system and continue checking for interface or balance changes.
Bottom line for the current build
Start with the Super-45 for a committed close push, the MP43 when cash is scarce, the T-21 when you need the most economical mid-range flexibility, and the M4 when the squad can afford its premium price without sacrificing supplies. Use the SVD or BMR-308 for semi-automatic long-range follow-up shots, the AMR for deliberate high-power bolt-action fire, and the Galil when you can control recoil across mixed distances. Build the rest of the kit from magazines, three to five bandages, armor, an appropriate optic, and the gadget your squad is missing.
