The best wall-mounted TV depends on what you value once the screen is on the wall: picture quality, reflection control, sound, gaming features, a frame-like appearance, connection access, price and whether the bracket actually fits. TechRadar’s guide updated June 9, 2026 names Samsung’s QN900F its overall pick for a premium wall installation. Samsung’s 2026 The Frame is the appearance-first choice, while LG’s US-listed 55-inch 2026 OLED evo AI G6 is the flush-wall OLED option. Use the model, size, year, weight and VESA pattern—not screen size alone—to choose the mount.
Quick picks for a wall-mounted TV
| Best for | Model | What the published information establishes | Main qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium all-round picture and large sizes | Samsung QN900F | 2025 8K QLED television with mini-LED, Tizen, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG; available in 65, 75 and 85 inches. | TechRadar’s overall pick, not a universal ranking; it is expensive, lacks Dolby Vision, has little native 8K content to display and is not the slimmest set. |
| Art-display appearance | Samsung The Frame (2026 standard model) | Designed to sit flush like a picture frame and supplied with a Slim Fit wall mount, according to Samsung. | Choose it for the room-facing design as well as image quality; ambient reflections, art features and available sizes still need checking locally. |
| Wireless connections with a framed look | Samsung The Frame Pro | Uses a Neo QLED 4K screen and a separate Wireless One Connect Box, according to Samsung. | Wireless transmission does not remove the need to plan power, ventilation and the exact regional package. |
| Flush OLED and gaming | LG OLED evo AI G6 | LG’s US product page lists a 55-inch 2026 model with a supplied flush wall mount, gallery design, reflection-minimizing technology and gaming features. | “Up to 3.9x brighter” is LG’s manufacturer claim, not an independently measured comparison; the listed details are US-specific. |
These are different solutions rather than four versions of the same winner. The QN900F prioritizes premium large-screen performance, The Frame prioritizes an attractive inactive screen, Frame Pro prioritizes a cleaner connection arrangement, and the G6 prioritizes a flush OLED installation. Availability, names and included accessories can vary by country.
What makes a TV good for wall installation?
A wall television has two jobs. It must produce a convincing picture from your normal seat, and it must remain practical after the stand is removed. A model can have excellent contrast yet be a poor wall choice if its connectors are inaccessible, its bracket does not support its weight, or reflections dominate the room.
Picture, room light and reflections
Compare the actual screen size with your viewing distance, then examine the room’s windows, lamps and glossy surfaces. A bright room can make reflection handling more important than a higher resolution. TechRadar’s QN900F review praises its reflection handling, but the guide also notes that Dolby Vision is absent. Check the HDR formats supported by the sources you actually use rather than assuming that the largest resolution automatically gives the best value.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How the screen looks when it is off
Wall mounting leaves a large rectangle visible for much of the day. The Frame’s picture-frame design addresses that visual problem directly. A conventional television may look fine when powered on but show a plain black panel when switched off. Decide whether artwork, a very thin profile or a conventional black screen matters more before comparing processing features.
Sound and connection access
Wall placement changes how easily you can reach HDMI ports, power sockets and network cables. Check the connector direction and whether your chosen bracket leaves enough clearance to insert cables. Also decide whether the television’s built-in speakers are sufficient or whether a soundbar or receiver will sit below it. A premium picture does not guarantee room-filling sound.
Samsung QN900F: the premium large-screen pick
TechRadar’s June 2026 guide names the QN900F its overall wall-mount TV choice. That is an editorial verdict from that guide, not a claim that it suits every room or budget. The 2025 series combines 8K resolution with a QLED panel and mini-LED backlighting, runs Samsung’s Tizen platform and lists HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG support. The available sizes identified in the guide are 65, 75 and 85 inches.

The case for the QN900F is strongest when you want a large, premium display and value the guide’s reported picture quality, sound and reflection handling. The trade-offs are important: native 8K programming remains scarce, Dolby Vision is not supported, the set is not Samsung’s slimmest design, and the price is high. Upscaled content can still look good, but buying an 8K panel solely for a large library of native 8K films is difficult to justify while that content remains limited.
Before ordering, identify the complete model code, diagonal size and sales region. Samsung’s UK compatibility chart maps the 2025 QN900F in 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes to the WMN-B50EB Slim Fit mount. That mapping is a regional compatibility reference, not proof that the same mount is stocked or packaged identically elsewhere.
The Frame and Frame Pro: when the wall is part of the design
The Frame standard model
Samsung describes its 2026 standard The Frame as a television intended to sit flush like a picture frame and says it includes a Slim Fit wall mount. This makes it a natural starting point when the screen must blend with artwork or a carefully decorated wall. The decision still involves ordinary television questions: how much glare reaches the panel, which sizes are sold in your country, how much image performance you require and where the cables will run.

The Frame Pro
Samsung describes The Frame Pro as using a Neo QLED 4K display with a separate Wireless One Connect Box. Moving connection hardware away from the panel can make a clean installation easier, but it does not make the installation cable-free: the television and the box still need power, and wireless transmission has to work in the intended room. Confirm exactly what is included in your regional package before treating the arrangement as a guaranteed solution.
Samsung executive Shane Higby described The Frame as meeting demand for “customization and seamless integration in their spaces.” That is promotional positioning, not independent evidence about buying behavior, so use your own room and viewing priorities to judge whether the design premium is worthwhile.
LG OLED evo AI G6: a flush OLED option
LG’s US product page lists a 55-inch 2026 OLED evo AI G6 with a supplied flush wall mount, a flush-fit gallery design, reflection-minimizing technology and gaming features. Those details make it relevant to buyers who want OLED characteristics and a deliberately close-to-the-wall presentation without sourcing a separate bracket.
LG advertises the G6 as “up to 3.9x brighter” through its Brightness Booster Ultra feature. Keep the qualification attached to that number: it is a manufacturer claim, not a third-party measurement against every competing television. The product page’s listed installation promotions had an end date of July 19, 2026 and should not be treated as current offers. Check the live US page or your local LG site for present contents, prices and availability.

Start with the viewing position
Measure the wall and mark the intended screen center at seated eye level. Compare the real diagonal size, not the box dimensions, with your seating distance and the visual scale of the room. An 85-inch panel can dominate a small wall even when the viewing distance is adequate; a 55-inch panel can look lost on a broad feature wall.

Do not buy resolution in isolation
Resolution matters alongside content, distance and processing. The QN900F’s 8K panel is most defensible for readers who want a premium large screen and accept that native 8K material is limited. For many viewers, HDR performance, reflection control, motion handling, gaming latency and the way the screen fits the room will have a larger day-to-day effect than moving from 4K to 8K.
Match features to devices
List every source that will connect: game consoles, a computer, a disc player, a set-top box and audio equipment. Check the television’s supported HDR formats against those devices. The QN900F’s lack of Dolby Vision may matter if a major source in your setup depends on that format; it may matter less if your content is primarily HDR10, HDR10+ or HLG.
Verify mount compatibility before purchase
Screen size is only one input to a safe mount choice. Use this order of checks for any television, including a model that is advertised as wall-mountable.
- Record the complete television identity. Write down the model code, diagonal size, model year and sales region. Similar names can use different brackets or hole patterns.
- Use the television maker’s compatibility chart. Samsung’s support guidance specifically asks shoppers to identify model, size and year, then match the set to a specific mount. Its UK chart lists the 2025 QN900F sizes against WMN-B50EB; check the equivalent chart for your country.
- Read the VESA pattern from the television documentation. VESA is the horizontal-by-vertical spacing of the mounting holes in millimetres. Do not infer it from the diagonal measurement.
- Compare the bare television weight with the bracket limit. Use the weight stated for the set without its stand when that is how the manufacturer reports it, and leave the bracket within its rated capacity.
- Check the wall and fasteners. Identify studs, masonry, concrete, plasterboard or another construction before selecting anchors. A bracket rated for a heavy television does not make an unsuitable wall safe.
- Confirm clearance and cable direction. Check the rear connector layout, power outlet position, ventilation space specified by the television maker and whether the bracket blocks a port.
- Choose fixed, tilt or full-motion movement. Select movement for a real viewing need, not because it sounds more flexible; moving arms increase depth and require careful cable slack.
Why the VESA and weight numbers matter
Sony’s 2026 compatibility chart illustrates the issue with an 85-inch BRAVIA 9 II K-85XR90M2: it lists a 400 × 400 mm hole pattern and approximately 48.2 kg (106.2 lb) without the stand. Those figures are for that specific model and demonstrate why “85-inch mount” is not a sufficient specification. Sony also warns that some charted models are not sold in every region.
Pick the mount type for the room
| Mount type | Useful when | Trade-off to check |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed | You want the closest, simplest profile and the seating position is directly in front. | Rear ports and cables are harder to reach after installation; glare cannot be corrected by movement. |
| Tilt | The screen is mounted above eye level or you need to angle it away from ceiling or window reflections. | It still does not swing toward a side seat and adds a little depth. |
| Full motion | Seats are spread across the room or you need to turn the screen toward different positions. | The arm extends farther, needs controlled cable slack and transfers more leverage to the wall and fasteners. |
An older Philips SQM5226/00 sheet provides a useful example of how detailed a mount specification can be: fixed design, stated support for 26- to 70-inch televisions, hole patterns from 200 × 100 through 400 × 400 mm, a 35 cm arm extension and 3.9 cm wall distance. Those figures describe that older product only; they do not establish current availability or compatibility with your television.
Installation sequence that prevents common failures
For a large or heavy screen, an uncertain wall, concealed wiring or a difficult lift, a qualified local installer can reduce risk. No single bracket or installation method is safe for every wall.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Plan the finished position. Mark the screen center, top and bottom edges, viewing height, outlet location and the route for signal and network cables. Account for a soundbar or cabinet before drilling.
- Locate reliable fixing points. Use the wall construction and the mount maker’s fastener requirements to determine where the bracket can carry the load. Do not substitute random anchors because they are convenient.
- Attach the wall plate level. Transfer the mount’s hole spacing to the wall, drill only after confirming measurements and use a level. A small error becomes obvious across a wide screen.
- Prepare the television side. Remove the stand, attach the supplied vertical rails or mounting hardware and use only screws of the length and thread specified for the television and bracket.
- Lift and secure the set. Large panels generally require two people or professional handling. Engage every locking mechanism, then test that the television cannot lift off the rails accidentally.
- Connect cables before final positioning. Attach power, HDMI, network and audio leads with enough slack for the selected tilt or movement. Avoid tight bends and keep cables from being pinched against the wall.
- Check movement and stability. If the mount tilts or swings, move it slowly through its range while watching the cable path and wall fixings. Stop if the wall flexes, the bracket sags or a connector is under tension.
- Test the complete system. Turn on every source, verify HDR output, check audio, inspect for glare from normal seats and confirm that ventilation and outlet access remain practical.
Room-by-room buying decisions
Bright room with side windows
Prioritize reflection control, a mount that can tilt or turn slightly and a screen position away from direct window reflections. The QN900F guide specifically praises reflection handling. Do not assume any glossy panel will look the same in your room; test the planned wall at the time of day when glare is worst.

Compare the inactive appearance, wall distance and visible cable route. The standard Frame’s supplied Slim Fit mount and picture-frame intent directly address this use case. The G6’s US-listed supplied flush mount and gallery design target a similar close-to-wall result with an OLED panel.
Gaming room
Check the console or PC’s resolution, refresh-rate and HDR requirements, then verify which HDMI ports support them. The G6 product listing identifies gaming features, but the cited information does not establish a complete port specification, so consult the current regional technical sheet.
Open-plan room with several seats
Consider viewing angles, glare from multiple directions and whether a full-motion mount is worth the extra projection from the wall. Plan sound separately: a television that sounds acceptable from one seat may need a soundbar for a larger open space.
Common mistakes and fixes
The bracket holes do not line up
Stop before forcing screws. Recheck the complete model code, VESA dimensions and whether the rails are oriented correctly. If the pattern is outside the bracket’s published range, replace the bracket rather than drilling new holes in the television.
Recommended Free Tools
The screen sits crooked
Check the wall plate with a level, then inspect whether one rail is fully engaged and whether the mount has a final leveling adjustment. Do not compensate for a badly positioned plate by over-tightening one side.

Glare remains after mounting
Try the viewing position at different times of day. A tilt mount can help when the screen is high, while blinds or a different wall position may be more effective for side-window reflections. Resolution upgrades will not remove a bright reflection.
Ports or the power socket are inaccessible
Disconnect the television safely and review the connector direction, bracket depth and cable bend radius. A right-angle or shorter cable may help if it meets the manufacturer’s requirements; otherwise reposition the bracket before the installation is finalized.
The picture works but sound is weak
Check the television’s audio output setting, the soundbar or receiver input and the cable format. If the room is large or reflective, plan external audio rather than expecting a thin wall-mounted panel to fill it unaided.
A promised accessory is missing
Compare the box contents with the exact regional product page and order code. Included mounts and wireless boxes can differ by model year and country; do not assume that an accessory shown in another market is included in yours.
Price, availability and regional checks
No current prices are established here, and television prices, stock, promotions and mount bundles change quickly. The QN900F is positioned as an expensive premium model by the cited guide. A supplied mount on The Frame or the US G6 can reduce accessory shopping, but it does not make installation free. Budget separately for a compatible bracket when one is not included, suitable fasteners, cable work and professional labor if the wall or screen weight warrants it.
Samsung states that mount availability varies by country. Sony similarly warns that some charted models may not be sold in every region. Before checkout, open the manufacturer’s page for your country, confirm the exact suffix and year, verify what is in the box and check return rules for a heavy television and bracket.
A practical decision path
- Choose the visual priority. Select a conventional premium screen, an artwork-first Frame design, a Frame Pro connection layout or a flush OLED presentation.
- Set the size from the room. Measure the wall and seating position before comparing 55-, 65-, 75- or 85-inch options.
- Match formats and devices. List your sources and check HDR, gaming and audio requirements; do not pay for a format your equipment cannot use.
- Confirm the installation data. Record model, year, region, VESA pattern, weight, wall type, bracket range and cable clearances.
- Choose the mount and installation method. Fixed, tilt and full motion solve different problems. Use professional help for heavy sets or uncertain walls.
- Recheck the live regional listing. Confirm stock, current price, included mount, wireless box and any promotion immediately before buying.
Bottom line
For a premium, large-screen wall installation, the 2025 Samsung QN900F is the named overall pick in TechRadar’s June 9, 2026 guide, provided you accept its price, absent Dolby Vision and limited native 8K material. Choose the 2026 standard The Frame when the powered-off appearance is central, Frame Pro when its separate Wireless One Connect Box suits your layout, and LG’s US-listed 55-inch OLED evo AI G6 when a supplied flush mount and OLED gallery design fit your priorities. Whichever screen you choose, the safe purchase is the one whose exact model, regional specification, weight, VESA pattern, wall and bracket have all been verified before drilling.
