The best VPS in Ireland depends first on whether you need the server physically in Ireland or simply want a provider serving Irish customers. For a confirmed Dublin location and a low listed entry price, Host Cloud is one option to examine; for a larger listed configuration, Hosting Ireland publishes a 2-CPU, 4-GB plan. LetsHost and WebWorld also identify Irish data-centre locations. These are provider-published details, not independent performance rankings. Confirm the live plan, location and total cost before ordering.
What “VPS in Ireland” means
A provider can sell to Irish customers while hosting a virtual server elsewhere. If location matters, confirm the data-centre location for the specific VPS plan—not just the provider’s address—and ask whether the instance receives an Irish IP. A Dublin server may be relevant to audience proximity, an Irish IP requirement or a data-location policy, but location by itself does not establish GDPR compliance. The provider, processing activity, contracts and workload also matter. Cybernews makes the same distinction in its guide updated September 10, 2026.

Other names in the 2026 comparison
Cybernews’ guide, updated September 10, 2026, also includes Contabo, Cloudways, Amazon Lightsail, ScalaHosting, Blacknight and Vultr. It assigns options to different use cases and reports its own hands-on evaluation. Its awards and rankings are that publisher’s judgments, not independently verified results here. The available provider-location evidence does not establish that every name in its broader shortlist offers a server in Ireland; check the exact region before treating one as an Irish VPS. How to compare plans before you buy
Match the location to your requirement
Ask where the specific instance will run and whether the plan includes an Irish IP. If nearby European hosting is acceptable, compare it separately rather than calling it an Ireland-based server. A provider’s Irish customer base or billing address does not prove the VPS is hosted in Ireland.
Compare equivalent resources
Read the plan’s CPU or vCPU allocation, memory, storage capacity and type, and bandwidth or port limits together with the price. The two published snapshots above are not identical configurations: Host Cloud lists 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 20 GB NVMe, while Hosting Ireland lists 2 CPU, 4 GB RAM and 50 GB storage. Do not infer that the lower listed monthly amount is the better value without accounting for the resource difference, billing term and add-ons.
Decide who will administer the server
Root access gives you control, but also leaves operating-system updates, security configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting to you unless the provider’s management service covers them. Ask what “managed” or “support” includes, whether it costs extra, and whether assistance covers applications and restores or only the VPS platform. Host Cloud labels managed care optional; Hosting Ireland describes self-managed service with optional advanced support. LetsHost lists optional management services.

Check backup and recovery arrangements
Determine whether backups are included, how often they run, how long they are retained, whether restores incur a fee, and whether you can download or independently retain copies. The provider pages reviewed distinguish optional backup services from hosting itself, so do not assume a VPS plan includes recoverable backups.
Calculate the full cost and exit terms
- Confirm the billing period, renewal rate and whether a displayed amount is promotional.
- Include VAT, management, backup and support add-ons in the total. WebWorld explicitly says its displayed prices exclude VAT.
- Review bandwidth conditions, cancellation requirements and the refund policy for the VPS plan. WebWorld says it does not provide a 30-day VPS money-back guarantee; Host Cloud’s page lists one, subject to its terms.
- Save the plan details and terms shown at checkout so you can compare the actual purchase with the advertised page.
How to interpret “best” rankings
Cybernews says its 2026 comparison weighs proximity at 30%, resources and reliability at 25%, price and value at 20%, setup and support at 10%, data protection and jurisdiction at 10%, and Ireland-specific suitability at 5%. Those percentages describe that guide’s methodology, not a universal standard. Its hands-on testing and ratings should be understood as Cybernews’ reported assessment; they are not measurements reproduced for this article.
For a practical shortlist, start with the requirement that could rule a provider out—physical location, operating system, management, or cost ceiling—then compare the remaining plans on equivalent resources and recovery terms. The published snapshots are useful starting points, not a normalized ten-provider price ranking: renewal pricing, billing periods and complete configurations are not established consistently across the shortlist.
