There is no evidence here to name five best VPNs for UPlay—or to claim any were tested for a smooth connection. UPlay is legacy terminology for Ubisoft Connect, and Ubisoft’s own guidance points players first to service-status checks and current-client troubleshooting. A VPN may add routing overhead, and Ubisoft prohibits using one to bypass regional restrictions.
What “UPlay” means in 2026
Ubisoft Connect is Ubisoft’s current player-services ecosystem and desktop app associated with the older Uplay name. It supports games and account-related player features. Ubisoft’s support site and service notices use Ubisoft Connect terminology.
Why this is not a tested list of five VPNs
No comparative VPN test results establish which five services perform best with Ubisoft Connect, and there are no documented measurements of connection quality, latency, jitter, packet loss, or session stability. There are also no verified provider prices or server-network details to compare. Naming winners or saying they were tested would therefore be unsupported.

A smooth connection depends on the specific route and conditions, so a provider’s general marketing claims are not a substitute for comparable tests.

Check Ubisoft Connect before changing your VPN
If you see “A Ubisoft service is not available at the moment,” Ubisoft says the error occurs when Ubisoft Connect PC cannot connect to Ubisoft Services. Ubisoft recommends checking for service degradation or an outage before local troubleshooting. Some such errors can also result from an outdated client; Ubisoft recommends installing the newest version.
- Check service status: Look for current Ubisoft service degradation or outage information before troubleshooting your own connection. Follow Ubisoft’s guidance for the specific error at Ubisoft Help.
- Update Ubisoft Connect PC: Make sure the desktop client is current. Ubisoft identifies an outdated client as a possible cause of some service-unavailable errors and recommends installing the newest version.
- Continue with the exact error’s support steps: If services are available and the client is current, use Ubisoft’s instructions for the error you see rather than assuming that VPN routing is the cause.
Ubisoft’s VPN restrictions and regional limits
Ubisoft’s Terms of Use prohibit circumventing security controls such as regional restrictions through a VPN or proxy. Do not use a VPN to evade a game, store, or service region restriction. Ubisoft also warns that cross-region purchases can be region-locked. It recommends purchasing from its own store, Ubisoft Connect PC, or approved digital distributors; keys from unapproved sellers may be invalid or revoked. Rules can also depend on the activity. The 2026 BLAST R6 rulebook restricts VPN software for the competition it governs. That event-specific rule is not evidence of a blanket ban on VPN use across every Ubisoft game or in casual play. Players in that competition should consult the official Rainbow Six esports materials and the applicable rulebook.

- VPN provider, subscription plan, app or software version, and test date.
- Tester location, ISP, and access type, plus the game-server region used.
- Baseline results without a VPN and the VPN protocol and endpoint used for each test.
- Repeated latency, jitter, and packet-loss observations, along with Ubisoft Connect login success and game-session stability.
Those details help distinguish a provider-specific result from effects caused by the tester’s location, ISP, game-server region, or a temporary service problem. Without them, a claim that a VPN is one of the “best VPNs for UPlay” or guarantees a smooth connection is not substantiated.
