The best universal remote for a Hisense TV is the one explicitly compatible with your television’s full model number and operating system. Hisense sells TVs running Google TV, Android TV and Roku TV, and a remote that works with one platform or model can fail on another. Start by identifying the model and platform, then choose between a model-specific Hisense replacement, a cable or satellite provider remote you already own, or a universal remote whose code list names your TV.

No single remote is established as the best choice for every Hisense television. The practical shortlist below is organized by compatibility and control needs rather than an unsupported performance ranking.

Find your Hisense TV model and platform first

Look for the complete model number on the rear label, original packaging or the television’s settings screen. A partial name such as “U6” or “Roku TV” is not enough: the suffix identifies a different product family, remote protocol or operating system. Record the exact model before ordering.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Next, identify the software platform. The home-screen branding or Settings > About page usually distinguishes Google TV, Android TV and Roku TV. Menu names vary by model, so use the wording shown on your set. Platform matters because pairing, app control, voice features and shortcut buttons are not uniform across Hisense televisions.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  • Google TV: Look for a Google TV home screen and Google account settings. A Bluetooth-and-IR replacement may be appropriate when its listing names your model.
  • Android TV: Android TV sets may support the Hisense Remote NOW app and, on supported models, Alexa integration. Android TV and Google TV are related but should not be treated as interchangeable for remote compatibility.
  • Roku TV: Hisense’s quick setup guidance directs owners using a cable or satellite remote to the provider’s instructions and Roku’s universal-remote code resource.

Keep the model number and platform beside you when checking a product listing, programming a provider remote or contacting support. Compatibility claims that omit either detail are incomplete.

Why the platform distinction matters

Two televisions with similar screen sizes can use different menus, app stores and wireless protocols. A remote may power both sets through infrared yet lack the navigation, home, voice or shortcut commands needed by one of them. Conversely, a Bluetooth handset may pair only with the television families named by its manufacturer. Treat “works with Hisense” as a starting claim, not proof that every button works on your set.

Which remote type fits your situation?

Choice Best fit What the documented option provides Checks before purchase or setup
Hisense T266510 replacement Owners of a listed Google TV model who want an OEM handset Bluetooth and infrared connectivity; Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and Google Play shortcut buttons; two AAA batteries required; 90-day Hisense warranty Confirm that your exact model appears on the live Hisense listing; the listing is not an all-Hisense replacement
Existing cable or satellite remote Households that already have a provider remote and need power, volume, input and navigation from one handset Programming instructions and codes supplied by the provider; Hisense lists provider-specific code resources Use the exact remote model and the TV model; a code for one provider remote is not guaranteed to work with another
Third-party universal remote Replacing a lost handset or consolidating several devices Capabilities depend on the individual remote’s code library, infrared/Bluetooth support and device controls Verify the manufacturer’s compatibility list, required setup or pairing, button coverage and return terms
Phone app Temporary control while the original remote is missing Hisense lists the Hisense Remote NOW app; Android TV and Roku TV owners may also use their platform’s app Confirm the app, TV platform and network requirements for your exact model

Think of this as a decision based on what you already own. A provider remote can cost nothing extra, but it may not expose every smart-TV command. An OEM handset is simpler when your model is explicitly listed. A third-party universal remote makes sense when you need to operate a sound system, disc player or set-top box as well, but its device library and setup burden vary by product. A phone app is useful while waiting for delivery, provided the television is already connected and discoverable.

OEM option: Hisense T266510 Google TV remote

The clearest model-specific choice in the available official information is Hisense’s T266510 remote. The store listing names these supported models: 43H6570G, 50H6570G, 55H6570G, 65H6570G, 75H6570G, 58H6570G, 70H6570G, 85H9G, 55H9G, 50H6510G and 60A6G. Treat that list as the boundary of the documented compatibility claim; do not infer support for every Hisense television or every model in a similar series.

The T266510 uses both Bluetooth and infrared. Bluetooth can avoid line-of-sight limitations after pairing, while infrared can control compatible functions in the conventional way. The listing identifies shortcut keys for Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and Google Play. It specifies two AAA batteries, which are not included, and a 90-day Hisense warranty.

When indexed, the official listing displayed a price of $29.99 and an add-to-cart control. Price, inventory and included accessories can change, so verify the live listing before relying on that figure. The sensible buying rule is simple: purchase this remote only when the full model number on your TV appears on the current listing.

What the T266510 does not establish

The listing does not establish that the remote works with all Hisense TVs, all Roku models or all Android TV models. It also does not make every voice feature available on every compatible set. Use the model list for compatibility, then check your television’s manual for pairing and voice requirements.

Cost, batteries and warranty checks

The indexed $29.99 price is a snapshot, not a promise. Confirm the current price, stock status, shipping cost and whether batteries are still excluded at checkout. Budget for two AAA batteries if you do not have them. Read the warranty terms and return window together: a 90-day manufacturer warranty does not necessarily match a retailer’s return policy, and neither guarantees compatibility when the model number was not listed.

Using a cable or satellite provider remote

If you already have a provider-issued remote, it may be the least expensive replacement. Hisense advises owners to consult the cable or satellite provider’s manual for programming instructions. Its support FAQ provides code resources for DIRECTV, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Communications and Dish Network. Those are provider-specific code lists, not a universal code that works with every remote and every Hisense television.

  1. Write down the exact Hisense TV model and identify whether it is Google TV, Android TV or Roku TV.
  2. Record the provider remote’s model number. Remotes from the same provider can use different programming procedures and code libraries.
  3. Open the provider’s manual or official code resource and select the television manufacturer category for Hisense.
  4. Follow that remote’s documented setup sequence and enter the listed code or run its code search. Do not substitute a sequence from a different remote.
  5. Test power, volume, mute, input, directional navigation and the streaming controls you actually use.
  6. If only some functions work, repeat the process with the next code supplied for that remote model. If no code works, use a Hisense replacement or a universal remote whose compatibility page explicitly includes your model and platform.

For a Hisense Roku TV, the quick setup guide points users to the provider manual and Roku’s universal remote code resource. Roku’s code information is therefore the appropriate reference for a Roku television, while the provider’s own manual remains necessary for the remote’s button sequence.

Common provider-remote pitfalls

A successful power test does not prove full compatibility. Some codes map only power and volume, while input switching, home, back, directional navigation or app shortcuts remain inactive. Test the functions you use before discarding the original handset. Also check whether the provider remote is locked to a particular set-top box mode; switching it to TV mode may be required by that remote’s own instructions.

How infrared and Bluetooth affect setup

Infrared (IR)

IR remotes send commands to a sensor on the television and normally require the handset to face the set. They are easy to replace and often work without a pairing step, but a cabinet door, an obstruction or a weak angle can prevent commands from registering. Most basic power, volume and input functions are designed around IR.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth remotes must be paired with the television before their wireless functions work. They do not require a clear line of sight once connected and can support richer navigation or voice input on models designed for it. Pairing instructions differ by television and remote, so use the model’s manual rather than guessing a button combination.

Dual-protocol remotes

The T266510 listing specifies both Bluetooth and IR. That combination is useful when the television supports Bluetooth pairing but still needs IR fallback for particular commands. It does not remove the requirement to verify the exact model; dual connectivity is not proof of universal Hisense compatibility.

Pairing preparation

Have fresh batteries installed, keep the handset close to the television during pairing and make sure the TV is powered. If the original remote is missing, use the set’s physical buttons to reach the relevant menu where possible. Do not assume that an IR code-programming sequence will pair a Bluetooth remote; they are different setup processes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Voice control is model dependent

Do not select a remote solely because it has a microphone icon. A Hisense manual states that Alexa control applies only to supported Android TV models and requires setup with the Alexa app or an Echo device, an Amazon account and a Hisense account. Features can vary by model, country and region.

Before buying, check three separate items: whether your television supports the relevant voice service, whether the replacement remote contains the required microphone hardware, and whether pairing or account linking is documented for your model. A remote can operate power and navigation correctly while offering no voice control on a different platform.

What to do when the original remote is lost

Use the TV’s physical buttons

Hisense says owners can use the power and side buttons on the television to change volume and move through channels. This is a short-term solution, not a full replacement: on-screen navigation, text entry and app-specific controls may be limited.

Use the Hisense Remote NOW app

Hisense lists the Hisense Remote NOW app as a mobile control option. The app available to you depends on the television platform and model, and the phone and TV may need to be on the same network. Confirm those requirements before assuming the app can discover a television that has never been connected to your network.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use a platform app

Hisense identifies platform apps as additional possibilities for Android TV and Roku TV owners. Install the app that matches the television’s platform, follow its discovery and pairing instructions, and confirm that the TV is powered and connected. A platform app is not interchangeable across Google TV, Android TV and Roku TV.

Order a replacement

For permanent use, match the replacement to the full model number. An OEM remote is not automatically compatible with every Hisense set; the T266510 listing demonstrates why model-by-model verification is necessary.

Buying checklist for a universal Hisense remote

  • Exact model: The listing should name your complete model number, not merely the Hisense brand or series.
  • Operating system: Confirm Google TV, Android TV or Roku TV. Do not assume a remote advertised for one platform supports another.
  • Transmission method: Check whether the remote is IR, Bluetooth or dual-protocol, and whether pairing is required.
  • Essential buttons: Confirm power, volume, mute, input, directional navigation, home, back and menu functions.
  • Streaming shortcuts: Shortcut labels are useful only if they match the services you use; they do not guarantee compatibility with every app version.
  • Voice: Verify model support, microphone hardware, account requirements and regional availability.
  • Power: Check battery type and whether batteries are included. The T266510 requires two AAA batteries, not included.
  • Warranty and returns: Compare the stated warranty and the retailer’s return policy. The T266510 listing specifies a 90-day Hisense warranty.
  • Price and stock: Treat displayed prices and inventory as time-sensitive. The indexed $29.99 T266510 price is not a permanent price promise.
  • Existing equipment: If you already use a cable or satellite remote, check its provider code resource before buying another handset.

Questions to answer before checkout

Save a photo or note of the model label, platform and current remote before ordering. Then verify that the replacement’s compatibility page names the same model, not merely a similar-looking series. Check whether the listing describes Bluetooth pairing, infrared operation or both; whether the buttons include input, home, back and navigation; and whether voice or app shortcuts are actually supported on your set. Finally, confirm battery type, warranty coverage, return terms, current price and stock. These checks prevent the most common mistake: buying a remote that turns the television on but cannot navigate its smart-TV menus.

Troubleshooting after programming or pairing

The remote does nothing

Install fresh batteries, point an IR remote directly at the TV sensor, and remove objects blocking the sensor. For Bluetooth, repeat the model-specific pairing process. Confirm that the remote is in TV mode if it has device modes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Power works but volume or input does not

That usually indicates a partial code match or a remote configured for a different device profile. Re-run the provider’s code procedure with the next Hisense code for the exact remote model, then test each required function separately.

Navigation works but shortcut keys fail

Shortcut buttons are not universal commands. Check that the remote listing promises those keys and that the television platform supports the corresponding apps. You may still need the TV’s home screen to open services that are not represented by a dedicated button.

The phone app cannot find the TV

Confirm that the phone and television use the same network, the television is powered, and the app matches the platform. If the TV is not connected to a network and the original remote is missing, use the physical buttons or a compatible replacement to complete network setup.

Voice setup fails

Check model and regional support first. On supported Android TV models, complete the Alexa app or Echo setup and link both the Amazon and Hisense accounts as required by the manual. A voice-capable remote cannot add Alexa support to a television that lacks the required feature.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose your provider remote when

You already have a compatible cable or satellite handset and mainly need consolidated power, volume, input and navigation. Follow that provider’s manual and code list rather than relying on a generic code found for another remote.

Choose another universal remote when

Your exact model is not on the OEM list, you need to control multiple devices, or the provider remote lacks the buttons you use. Select a product only after its manufacturer documents your model and required protocol.

Use an app as a stopgap when

The physical remote is missing and the TV is already networked. Match the app to the television platform and verify discovery requirements before depending on phone control.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to use your Hisense TV without a remote?

Hisense USA lists three practical options: use the TV’s power and side buttons, order a replacement or universal remote, or download the Hisense Remote NOW app. Android TV and Roku TV owners may also have a matching platform app. App availability and network requirements depend on the exact model and platform.

What are the codes to program my remote to the TV?

Use the code list and programming sequence for the exact cable, satellite or universal remote model. Hisense’s support information points to provider-specific resources for DIRECTV, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Communications and Dish Network. Roku TV owners should also consult Roku’s universal-remote code resource. A code for one provider remote is not guaranteed to work with another.

Is the Hisense T266510 compatible with every Hisense TV?

No. Hisense’s listing names specific supported models, including several H6570G, H9G, H6510G and 60A6G models. Check the live listing for your complete model number. The listing does not establish compatibility with every Hisense, Roku or Android TV set.

Do I need Bluetooth pairing for a Hisense replacement remote?

Only when the remote and television use Bluetooth functions. The T266510 listing specifies both Bluetooth and infrared, so some commands may use IR while wireless functions require pairing. Follow the instructions for your exact TV and remote rather than assuming an IR code procedure will pair Bluetooth.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Will a microphone remote give my Hisense TV Alexa control?

Not automatically. Hisense says Alexa control applies to supported Android TV models and requires the Alexa app or an Echo device, an Amazon account and a Hisense account. Support and features can vary by model, country and region.

What should I check before buying a universal remote for Hisense?

Confirm the full TV model number, operating system, IR or Bluetooth requirements, essential buttons, voice support, battery type, warranty, return policy and current price. If you already have a provider remote, check its official code resource first.

The Bottom Line

Identify the full Hisense model number and operating system before buying. Use the T266510 only for models listed by Hisense, program a provider remote from its own manual, and treat voice control and app features as model- and region-dependent.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
