Think of Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus as access passes, not ownership. A game can leave a catalog or be unavailable in your country even when the service itself continues. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: the best fit for Xbox and Windows
Xbox Wire’s July 27, 2026 announcement describes the Xbox PC experience as including “some of the biggest names in the Ubisoft catalogue,” specifically naming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Skull and Bones and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It also refers to fan favorites spanning the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, The Crew and Watch Dogs franchises. The same announcement identifies Ubisoft+ Classics content as available with Game Pass Ultimate on PC and console.
That makes Ultimate the most direct substitute when your main goal is trying several Ubisoft series from an Xbox console or a Windows gaming PC. You use one platform subscription rather than starting a separate Ubisoft catalog membership, and the service is designed around downloading supported games to the device. The announcement is a catalog statement, not a promise that every game in either franchise is included at all times.
What Ultimate is good for
- Sampling a series: You can move between available Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry entries without purchasing each one first.
- Xbox and Windows continuity: It is the natural option if you play on both supported Xbox hardware and a Windows PC.

Ubisoft’s official Ubisoft+ Classics information says the service works on PlayStation consoles and can be obtained directly through the PlayStation Store or as part of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Ubisoft’s announcement about Far Cry 6 documents that game joining the Classics library and discusses Assassin’s Creed titles in the same catalog context.
For a PS4 or PS5 owner, Extra is the straightforward catalog tier to investigate. Premium adds the platform’s streaming capability: PlayStation’s official catalog information says Premium members can stream Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games to PS4, PS5 or PC. Streaming is a convenience for supported titles and connections; it does not turn a catalog game into a permanently owned copy.

The table does not mean every Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry game is streamable, downloadable or offered in every country. Those attributes belong to the individual listing. Premium’s streaming option also depends on the quality and stability of your connection, so downloading is usually the more predictable route when a supported download is available.

- On your PS4 or PS5, open the PlayStation Plus area and select the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the strongest Xbox and Windows starting point. Xbox’s announcement names Assassin’s Creed Shadows and says the catalog spans the Assassin’s Creed franchise. On PlayStation, Ubisoft+ Classics through Extra or Premium is the relevant catalog route; Ubisoft’s Classics materials reference Assassin’s Creed titles alongside the Far Cry 6 addition.
Do not interpret those statements as a promise that every mainline game, remaster, expansion or premium edition is included. Search for the exact title and edition, then confirm the platform and territory labels. If you want Assassin’s Creed Mirage permanently, Ubisoft lists it for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, making an individual copy an option independent of catalog rotation.
