A player searching for a pure vertical shooter should check the genre description before purchasing. Luna Nights is a Metroidvania; New World is an action RPG that combines bullet-hell stages with role-playing progression; and Scarlet Curiosity is a 3D action RPG. All three use Touhou characters or concepts, but none should be treated as a standard mainline shooter.
“Bullet hell” describes encounters in which the screen can fill with patterned projectiles. Who should choose another game
Pick something else if you dislike platforming or want a character-build system to be the main reason you play. New World offers more explicit RPG customization, while Scarlet Curiosity presents its action in 3D. Those choices are not upgrades over Luna Nights; they are different structures for the same broad Touhou-inspired appeal.
Switch release and language details
Nintendo lists the Switch release date as December 17, 2020. The digital release supports English, French, German, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Check the eShop listing for your region before buying, because language availability and storefront details can vary by territory.

How its structure differs
Nintendo labels Touhou: New World a “bullet hell action-RPG adventure.” XSEED describes it as combining “the stage-filling bullet hell genre synonymous with ‘Touhou Project’ and the exhilarating battles of an action RPG.” Those descriptions establish the game’s central trade-off: you get Touhou-style projectile pressure alongside RPG decisions.
Instead of learning only movement and attack timing, you also have to understand skills, spell cards, stat upgrades and customizable builds. That extra layer can make the game more attractive if you enjoy experimenting, but it increases the number of concepts a newcomer must absorb during the opening sessions.
Why an RPG fan may prefer it first
Choose New World when visible character growth is part of what motivates you. A build-oriented game lets you think about how your upgrades and abilities support your preferred approach. The same customization that attracts RPG players can overwhelm someone who wants to start immediately. Players who are comfortable moving a character through a 3D environment may find this presentation more natural than a flat, traditional shooter view. You still need to manage projectile threats, but distance, camera orientation and positioning are interpreted in a three-dimensional space.

Select Scarlet Curiosity if you want Touhou themes without committing to a side-view exploration game. It is also a sensible choice when complex menus and extensive build experimentation are less appealing than direct movement and attacks.
Important expectation-setting

The €89.99 figure and the reported contents describe that Spanish collector release at the time of the report, not a permanent worldwide price. Stock, resale pricing, language packaging and regional distribution can change. Verify the current seller, territory and included items before paying a collector premium.

Simple inputs reduce the number of buttons to learn; they do not remove projectile patterns or the need for precise movement. Scarlet Curiosity is described as having simple, responsive controls, but it remains a 3D bullet-hell action RPG.
Changing too many things after a defeat

Paying a collector price without checking the edition
