For a dependable starting point, use the game’s published recommended tier: Windows 11, 16GB of RAM, a six-core/12-thread processor such as an Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, and a GeForce RTX 3060 8GB or Radeon RX 6600 8GB. Start at 1920×1080 with the default or high-quality preset, then lower resolution or the most demanding options in small steps if frame pacing is uneven. The published requirements do not include a per-setting guide or measured FPS table, so no setting combination can honestly guarantee a particular frame rate.

Recommended starting point

The safest way to configure Stupid Never Dies is to treat the recommended hardware as a baseline rather than a promise. The game’s Steam/GPTRACK50 listing specifies Windows 11, 16GB of memory, a six-core/12-thread CPU, and either a GeForce RTX 3060 8GB or Radeon RX 6600 8GB as the recommended class. Begin at 1080p, select the game’s default or high-quality preset if one is available, play a representative section, and judge smoothness by frame-time consistency. If motion feels uneven, reduce resolution or the heaviest visual options before turning every option to its lowest value.

That procedure is an evidence-based starting strategy, not a benchmark result. No dated, reproducible FPS measurements or official per-option recommendations are published for this game. Exact support for DLSS, FSR, XeSS, a dynamic-resolution option, or particular shadow and effects names is also not established. If an option is absent in your build, do not attempt to force it through a configuration file or assume that another upscaler is supported.

Published PC requirements

The following values come from the current Steam/GPTRACK50 store listing. “Minimum” describes the hardware tier the publisher lists for starting the game; it does not mean that every scene will feel smooth at high quality. The recommended tier is the more useful target for a stable 1080p setup.

Component Minimum listed Recommended listed What it means for tuning
Operating system Windows 11 Windows 11 Use a fully updated 64-bit Windows 11 installation and confirm that the game is launching on the intended GPU.
CPU Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 Six cores/12 threads, exemplified by Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Lower settings cannot remove a CPU bottleneck. Monitor CPU utilization and frame-time spikes when crowded scenes stutter.
Memory 16GB RAM 16GB RAM Close unnecessary applications and check that the system is not paging to disk while the game runs.
Graphics processor GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, or Radeon RX 580 8GB GeForce RTX 3060 8GB or Radeon RX 6600 8GB Compare GPU class and VRAM first. The listing does not attach an FPS figure to any of these cards.
Graphics API DirectX 12 Ensure the GPU and Windows installation support DirectX 12. This is an API requirement, not a performance target.
Storage 22GB available space Keep more free space than the stated allowance so Windows and the game can create temporary files and updates.

Can your PC run Stupid Never Dies?

Check the operating system and API

Windows 11 is the only operating system listed. Confirm your edition is up to date, then press Windows key + R, enter dxdiag, and inspect the System and Display tabs. The Display tab should show a DirectX 12-capable graphics device. If the game refuses to start, an unsupported operating system or graphics driver/API problem is more likely than a graphics-quality setting.

Check the processor

A Core i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500 is the listed minimum. The recommended examples—Core i5-11600K and Ryzen 5 5600X—both represent six cores and 12 threads. A newer processor with a similar or greater thread count may be suitable, but model names alone do not establish identical performance. If your CPU is below the listed minimum, lowering resolution may not fix pauses caused by simulation, streaming, or other CPU work.

Check memory and free storage

The listing specifies 16GB of RAM for both tiers and 22GB of available storage. Before launching, close browsers with many tabs, recording tools you do not need, and large background downloads. Verify free space on the drive containing the game, not merely on another disk. The 22GB figure is an allowance for the installation; preserving additional headroom helps avoid an operating-system or update-related space crunch.

Check the GPU and VRAM

The minimum choices include 8GB cards such as the GTX 1070, RTX 3050, and RX 580. The recommended choices are the RTX 3060 8GB and RX 6600 8GB. If your card has less VRAM, texture quality and resolution may need to be reduced even when its raw processing power appears adequate. Use your GPU control panel or an in-game overlay to watch VRAM use while testing a demanding area.

Step-by-step settings workflow

  1. Prepare the system. Confirm Windows 11, DirectX 12 support, 16GB of RAM, and at least 22GB of free space. Install the current driver supplied for your GPU and close avoidable background workloads.
  2. Start at 1080p. Set the game to 1920×1080 if your display is 1080p or higher. Use the display’s native resolution when possible; if the native resolution is substantially higher, begin at 1080p to establish a consistent baseline.
  3. Choose the default or high-quality preset. The listing does not document the preset’s exact contents, so treat it as a starting point rather than a tested recommendation. Record which preset you used so that later changes are easy to reverse.
  4. Test a repeatable scene. Walk through an area that reliably produces the most movement, effects, or visible detail. Test for several minutes rather than judging the first loading screen or an empty room.
  5. Change one class of setting at a time. If motion is uneven, lower resolution scale or the most demanding option available, then retest. Changing everything simultaneously hides which adjustment helped.
  6. Protect texture quality when VRAM permits. Keep textures at the highest level that fits comfortably in available VRAM. If the overlay shows memory pressure or texture pop-in, lower textures one step before reducing every other quality option.
  7. Reduce expensive effects next. Shadows, effects, volumetric features, reflections, and post-processing are sensible candidates when those controls exist. Their exact names and costs are not published for this title, so use the in-game frame-time response rather than assuming a universal order.
  8. Set a stable cap. Once the game produces consistent frame times, cap FPS to a value your display and system can sustain. A lower, steady cap is generally preferable to a fluctuating peak that repeatedly falls below the display’s refresh target.
  9. Save and verify. Restart the game after major changes and revisit the same test area. Some engines apply display-mode or shader changes only after a restart; whether that applies here depends on the build.

How to tune each graphics option

Resolution and resolution scale

Resolution is usually the most direct GPU workload control. Moving from a higher native resolution to 1920×1080 reduces the number of pixels the GPU must shade. If the game offers a resolution-scale slider, lower it in small increments and check whether text and edges become unacceptably soft. The published requirements do not specify a preferred resolution, so 1080p is a practical starting inference from the recommended hardware, not an official performance guarantee.

Preset and overall quality

Use the preset to establish a coherent baseline, then customize it. A preset may change several settings at once, and the store listing does not identify its internal values. If a preset switch unexpectedly changes resolution, fullscreen mode, or a frame cap, recheck those controls manually.

Textures and VRAM

Textures primarily consume graphics memory and affect surface detail. An 8GB card matches every GPU named in the published minimum and recommended lists, but that does not prove that an 8GB card will never run out of memory at a particular resolution or texture level. Watch for hitching when turning the camera, delayed texture loading, or an abrupt drop in available VRAM. Lower texture quality one step and retest before reducing resolution if the symptoms point to memory pressure.

Shadows, effects, reflections, and post-processing

These categories can be heavy in many PC games, especially in scenes with numerous lights or particles. When the controls are present, reduce them incrementally after establishing that the GPU—not the CPU—is limiting performance. Lowering shadows can improve frame time while preserving texture detail; lowering effects or post-processing can help during visually busy moments. These are general PC-tuning principles, not measured Stupid Never Dies results, because no reproducible per-setting benchmark is published.

Anti-aliasing and upscaling

The available evidence does not establish whether the game supports DLSS, FSR, XeSS, or a particular anti-aliasing method. Use only options actually shown in your graphics menu. If an upscaler is available, begin with its quality-oriented mode and compare image clarity and frame-time consistency; do not claim a specific gain without measuring your own system.

V-Sync, refresh rate, and frame caps

Match the game’s selected display mode and refresh rate to the monitor you are using. If the frame rate repeatedly oscillates, a cap below the unstable peak can make input and camera movement feel more consistent. The correct cap depends on your display and the result your system can sustain; the requirements page supplies no universal FPS target.

Choosing hardware by bottleneck

When comparing two PCs, start with the GPU class and VRAM, then examine CPU thread count, RAM capacity, display resolution and refresh target, and storage headroom. A faster GPU paired with a weak CPU may still stutter in CPU-limited scenes, while a strong CPU cannot compensate for a GPU that lacks the required rendering capacity at a high resolution.

System position Published reference Practical expectation First tuning action
Below minimum Below Core i5-8500/Ryzen 5 3500, below listed GPUs, under 16GB RAM, or no DirectX 12 support Compatibility and stability are uncertain; no FPS claim is established. Meet the operating-system, API, memory, and GPU requirements before adjusting image quality.
Minimum-class One of the listed minimum CPUs and GPUs with 16GB RAM The game may launch, but the listing provides no measured FPS or quality target for this tier. Start at 1080p with conservative quality and reduce resolution or heavy effects if frame times spike.
Recommended-class Six-core/12-thread CPU and RTX 3060 8GB or RX 6600 8GB, with 16GB RAM This is the publisher’s recommended baseline; it is not a guarantee of a particular FPS. Start at 1080p on the default or high-quality preset, then tune one setting class at a time.
Higher-resolution target Hardware above the named recommended tier Exact 1440p or 4K performance is not established by the available requirements. Test native resolution first, then lower resolution or use an available in-game scaling option if frame pacing is inconsistent.

Fixing uneven frame pacing

If GPU usage is high

High, sustained GPU utilization with low or inconsistent frame rates points toward a graphics workload. Lower resolution or resolution scale first, then reduce shadows, effects, reflections, or post-processing if those controls are available. Keep textures higher when VRAM remains comfortable so the image does not lose detail unnecessarily.

If GPU usage is low but frames still hitch

Low GPU utilization during a hitch can indicate a CPU, background-process, asset-streaming, or shader-compilation limitation. Check CPU utilization by core rather than relying only on the overall percentage. Close unnecessary applications, stop avoidable downloads, and repeat the same route. Lowering resolution will not solve a CPU-bound pause.

If stutter appears after changing drivers or settings

Restart the game and retest the same area. Confirm that the game is using the discrete GPU rather than an integrated adapter, and make sure the selected display mode is still correct. Avoid changing several driver-level overrides at once; isolate one change so you can undo it.

If textures flicker or load late

Check VRAM use and lower texture quality one step. Verify that the game is installed on a drive with the required free space plus reasonable working room. Do not infer that a texture problem means the CPU is too slow; the symptom is more directly related to memory or asset streaming until testing shows otherwise.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If the game will not launch

Recheck Windows 11, DirectX 12 capability, the GPU driver, and available storage. Confirm the installation is complete and that security software has not blocked a game component. These checks address requirements and common setup failures; they do not establish that a particular unsupported configuration can be made compatible by lowering settings.

Display choices and sensible targets

A 60Hz display does not require the same frame-rate target as a 144Hz or 165Hz display. Choose a cap that your PC can hold in the heaviest repeatable scene rather than one it reaches only in an empty area. If your monitor supports variable refresh, enable it according to the display manufacturer’s instructions and keep the in-game cap within the range your system can sustain. Because no official FPS table exists, your own frame-time capture is the appropriate evidence for selecting a cap.

Steam Deck context

Steam-indexed compatibility metadata reports that the default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck. That is useful evidence that the game can be workable on the handheld’s hardware and software stack, but it is not a Windows-PC benchmark and does not establish a universal FPS number. Do not transfer a Deck result directly to an RTX 3060, RX 6600, or any other desktop configuration.

What the published information does not establish

  • There is no official FPS table for 1080p, 1440p, or 4K.
  • There is no reproducible per-option benchmark showing the cost of shadows, effects, textures, or post-processing.
  • The available listing does not confirm DLSS, FSR, XeSS, dynamic resolution, or exact in-game setting names.
  • The recommended RTX 3060 8GB and RX 6600 8GB are requirements guidance, not a promise of a particular frame rate, preset, or refresh target.

Those limits matter when reading online claims. A screenshot of someone else’s settings or an uncited FPS number may use a different game build, CPU, driver, resolution, background workload, or test scene. Use the published hardware tier to determine where to begin, then record your own resolution, preset, GPU usage, VRAM use, and frame-time behavior.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Final setup checklist

  • Windows 11 is installed and updated.
  • The GPU supports DirectX 12 and the game is using the intended adapter.
  • At least 16GB of RAM is available, with unnecessary background programs closed.
  • At least 22GB of storage is free on the game’s drive, with additional working headroom.
  • The starting GPU is at least in the listed minimum class; RTX 3060 8GB or RX 6600 8GB is the published recommended class.
  • The first test uses 1920×1080 and the default or high-quality preset when available.
  • Changes are made one setting class at a time, beginning with resolution or the heaviest visual options.
  • Textures are kept within available VRAM.
  • The final FPS cap is based on a stable result in a demanding, repeatable scene rather than a peak number.

The Bottom Line

Use the published recommended hardware—Windows 11, 16GB RAM, a six-core/12-thread CPU, and an RTX 3060 8GB or RX 6600 8GB—as your baseline. Start at 1080p, tune resolution and demanding effects gradually, and choose a frame cap from your own frame-time results; no official benchmark supports a universal FPS promise.
