For many households, Internet Advantage at 100 Mbps or Internet Premier at 500 Mbps is the sensible starting point; choose Internet Gig when several people regularly stream, game, or work online at once. Spectrum’s comparison currently advertises these tiers at $30, $40, and $60 per month, respectively, for the first year. A 2 Gig plan is also listed at $80 per month for the first year in select areas. Those are address-dependent offers, not guaranteed prices or performance. Check your address and the full checkout terms before choosing.
Compare Spectrum’s advertised Internet plans
Spectrum’s plan comparison captured on October 7, 2026 lists the following residential tiers and first-year prices. The offers may vary by location, so use the provider’s address check to see which plans and terms apply to you.
| Plan | Advertised download speed | Advertised price for first year | WiFi | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Internet Advantage | 100 Mbps | $30/month for one year | Advanced WiFi available for an additional $10/month | Check by address |
| Internet Premier | 500 Mbps | $40/month for one year | Advanced WiFi available for an additional $10/month | Check by address |
| Internet Gig | 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) | $60/month for one year | Advanced WiFi included | Check by address |
| Internet 2 Gig | 2,000 Mbps (2 Gbps) | $80/month for one year | Invincible WiFi included | Select areas only |
These are Spectrum’s advertised offer and speed figures, not independently measured results. Spectrum says speeds are based on wired connections; WiFi results can differ. The comparison says listed plans have no contracts and no data caps. A modem is included, while Advanced WiFi is an extra charge on the two lower tiers and included with Gig. Confirm the equipment, fees, recurring price after the first year, and other checkout terms for your specific address. Spectrum’s plan comparison and service page provide the current address-check route.
Which Spectrum plan should you choose?
Start with how many people use the connection at the same time and what they do online. Device count and household size are useful clues, not firm speed requirements: video calls, large downloads, cloud backups, and multiple high-resolution streams can raise demand, while connected devices that are idle use less bandwidth than active ones.
#1 Best Overall
- MAXIMIZE YOUR CABLE INTERNET AND WHOLE-HOME WIFI: A cable modem and WiFi router in one device unlocks the full potential of your home internet with faster downloads, smoother WiFi for gaming and video calls, and reliable coverage in every room.
- APPROVED FOR YOUR PROVIDER AND PLAN: Works with Xfinity internet plans up to 800Mbps, Spectrum up to 1Gbps, and Cox up to 1Gbps. Not compatible with Verizon, AT&T, CenturyLink, DirecTV, DISH, or bundled voice plans. ISP activation required after setup.
- MULTI-GIG DOCSIS 3.1 SPEEDS: Get Gigabit+ cable download speeds on today's fastest plans, with headroom for the upgrades ahead. Real-world speeds depend on your plan and ISP network.
- WIFI 6 COVERAGE FOR THE WHOLE HOME: Stay connected in every room with dual-band AX2700 WiFi 6 covering up to 2,000 sq ft and capacity for 25+ connected devices. Real-world coverage depends on home size, layout, and building materials.
- WIRED CONNECTIONS FOR YOUR FASTEST DEVICES: Four Gigabit Ethernet ports keep gaming consoles, desktops, and streaming devices hardwired for the lowest latency and the most stable connection in your home.
Internet Advantage: 100 Mbps
Consider this entry tier if your household has modest simultaneous use, such as browsing, email, video calls, and a few streams. Spectrum’s guidance places 100–300 Mbps in the range for a single or small household with 1–7 devices. If several people frequently stream or download at once, compare the higher tiers rather than treating the device range as a guarantee that 100 Mbps will suit every household.
Internet Premier: 500 Mbps
This is a middle option for households with more simultaneous activity or heavier use. Spectrum’s guidance gives 300–500 Mbps for a small-to-medium household with 8–14 devices. It may offer more headroom than Advantage without moving to Gig, but the right choice depends on active use, not simply the number of devices connected.
Rank #2
- Compatible with major cable internet providers including Xfinity and Cox. NOT compatible with Verizon, Spectrum, AT&T, CenturyLink, DSL providers, DirecTV, DISH and any bundled voice service. Best for cable provider plans up to 800Mbps.
Internet Gig: 1,000 Mbps
Gig is the higher-speed option for a busy household with multiple concurrent users, frequent large transfers, or a preference for more capacity. Spectrum’s guidance puts 500 Mbps to 1 Gig in the range for large households with 14 or more devices. Advanced WiFi is included with this tier, which may matter if you want that service rather than adding it separately to Advantage or Premier.

Internet 2 Gig: 2,000 Mbps
Consider 2 Gig only if it is offered at your address and your household can use the extra capacity. The comparison lists it for select areas, with Invincible WiFi included. A higher advertised tier does not ensure that every device or WiFi connection will reach that speed; Spectrum notes that actual experience can fluctuate with Internet traffic, connected-device count, and bandwidth-heavy activity.
Rank #3
- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Check the total cost, not just the advertised price
The listed $30, $40, $60, and $80 monthly prices apply to the first year of the captured offers. They do not establish what your bill will be after that period. Before ordering, review the address-specific checkout details, including the ongoing monthly price, any applicable fees, equipment or WiFi charges, and whether the advertised offer is available to you. On Advantage and Premier, adding Advanced WiFi at the listed $10 per month changes the monthly cost; Spectrum lists it as included with Gig and lists Invincible WiFi as included with 2 Gig.

Plan availability differs by address, and 2 Gig is explicitly limited to select areas. Spectrum also distinguishes its Fiber-Powered Internet from 100% Fiber Internet. Fiber-Powered service uses a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network, with coaxial cable connecting the premises; 100% Fiber carries fiber to the home where available. Spectrum describes 100% Fiber availability as limited to select areas, so do not assume that a Spectrum plan—or a fiber connection—is available at every address. Check the service and connection type for your location using Spectrum’s fiber information.
