If you have finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the best next game depends on what you want to preserve: Cal Kestis’s story, real-time lightsaber combat, role-playing choices, cinematic shooting, starfighter flight or open-world exploration. Play Survivor first if you have completed only Fallen Order. If both Jedi games are complete, Knights of the Old Republic is the strongest choice-driven RPG, Battlefront II the clearest cinematic shooter campaign, Squadrons the dedicated starfighter story, and Outlaws the biggest open-world change of pace. The Old Republic is worth considering only if an online MMO fits your definition of single-player.
Quick recommendations
There is no single objective winner among the best single-player Star Wars games after Jedi. These games occupy different genres, eras and degrees of role-playing depth. Use the table to identify the closest match before reading the detailed breakdowns.
| Game | Best for | Combat and structure | Setting | Online context |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Star Wars Jedi: Survivor | Continuing Cal Kestis’s story | Third-person, real-time action adventure with exploration and lightsaber combat | Five years after Fallen Order | Single-player campaign |
| Knights of the Old Republic | Choice-driven role-playing | Party-based RPG with Force powers, equipment and dialogue decisions | Four thousand years before the Galactic Empire | Single-player |
| Star Wars Battlefront II | A compact cinematic shooter campaign | First- and third-person shooting with a story campaign inside a multiplayer-focused game | From the destruction of the second Death Star toward The Force Awakens | Campaign is single-player; the wider game emphasizes multiplayer |
| Star Wars: Squadrons | Starfighter combat and cockpit immersion | First-person flight campaign with New Republic and Imperial ships | Near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War | Story is single-player; 5v5 multiplayer is also included |
| Star Wars Outlaws | Open-world exploration without a Jedi protagonist | Stealth, blaster combat, speeder travel, syndicate missions and space dogfights | Between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi | Single-player adventure |
| The Old Republic | Long-form class stories for MMO players | Story-driven MMORPG with player-created characters and class arcs | More than three thousand years before the films | Online-only MMO structure; not an offline game |
How to choose your next Star Wars game
Do you still need the next chapter of Cal Kestis’s story?
Choose Star Wars Jedi: Survivor if you have completed Fallen Order but have not started its sequel. It is not merely another game with similar combat: the official description identifies it as the continuation of Cal’s story, set five years later. Starting elsewhere first is possible, but it delays the direct narrative payoff of the series you just finished.
Do you want decisions to shape a role-playing adventure?
Choose Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). Its light- and dark-side decisions, recruitable party, Force progression and lightsaber construction make it fundamentally different from Jedi’s authored action-adventure structure. The combat is less about split-second parries and more about building a party and selecting abilities.

Do you want a film-like military campaign?
Battlefront II follows Iden Versio, an elite special-forces soldier, through a campaign spanning more than 30 years. It is the most direct fit if you want blasters, set-piece battles and a story that connects the original trilogy’s aftermath to The Force Awakens.
Do you want to fly rather than fight on the ground?
Squadrons is the specialist answer. Its campaign alternates between New Republic and Imperial pilots in first-person cockpits. It supports optional VR and includes a separate 5v5 multiplayer component, but the story itself is designed for one player.
Do you want a large explorable world?
Outlaws changes almost every major Jedi-series assumption. You play Kay Vess, a non-Jedi outlaw accompanied by Nix, moving through an open world with syndicate missions, stealth, blasters, speeders and space combat.
Are you comfortable with an online MMO?
The Old Republic can provide dozens of hours of class-based Star Wars storytelling, but it is a free-to-play MMORPG. It requires an online service and does not meet a strict offline single-player requirement.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: the direct continuation
Why it is the first recommendation
The most useful answer to “what should I play after Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor?” depends on whether “and Survivor” means you have finished both games or are naming the series. If you have played only Fallen Order, play Survivor next. The official Electronic Arts description says Cal Kestis’s story continues five years after the first game, so it preserves the characters, combat language and narrative momentum you already know.
Survivor remains a narratively driven, single-player, third-person action adventure. Its appeal is the combination of lightsaber stances, Force abilities, platforming and exploration rather than a party system or branching RPG campaign. The perspective keeps every encounter close to Cal, making it the nearest available answer to searches for “Star Wars games like Jedi Survivor” when continuity matters more than novelty.

Who should choose something else
If you have already completed both Jedi games, another Cal adventure is not available in this list. Choose KOTOR for meaningful alignment decisions, Battlefront II for a shorter military campaign, Squadrons for flight, or Outlaws for an open world. Those games are alternatives by preference, not sequels to Cal’s story.
Knights of the Old Republic: the choice-driven RPG
What makes KOTOR different
KOTOR is the strongest answer to “I want a Star Wars RPG.” Its official description places the adventure four thousand years before the Galactic Empire, far enough from the films and Jedi games to give the setting its own conflicts and history. You make light- or dark-side decisions, assemble a party from nine customizable characters, develop Force powers and construct a lightsaber while visiting seven worlds.
Those systems change the role you play. In Jedi, Cal’s personality and major story beats are authored, while your skill comes from timing attacks, parries and traversal. In KOTOR, your interpretation of the protagonist, party composition and responses in conversations affect how the adventure feels. The older design uses a party-based role-playing model rather than a modern third-person action loop, so it is best approached as a character-and-choice game, not as a slower version of Jedi.
Lightsabers and progression
KOTOR still satisfies the search for “single-player Star Wars games with lightsabers,” but the emphasis is on building a character who uses them, selecting Force powers and managing companions. The lightsaber-construction feature and customizable party give the weapon and team a role in progression that Jedi’s fixed protagonist does not.

Who will enjoy it most
- Players who prefer dialogue, alignment decisions and party relationships to reflex-based combat.
- Readers asking “which Star Wars game has the best story?” when they mean the greatest control over the kind of hero they become.
- Fans who want a self-contained era far removed from the Skywalker timeline.
Star Wars Battlefront II: the cinematic campaign shooter
Campaign premise
Battlefront II places you in the role of Iden Versio, an elite special-forces soldier. The campaign begins around the destruction of the second Death Star and spans more than 30 years, bridging the aftermath of Return of the Jedi and the period leading toward The Force Awakens. That timeline makes it a useful choice when you want familiar film-era events viewed through a soldier’s perspective rather than a Jedi’s.
The campaign was intentionally created in response to demand for a single-player Star Wars experience. Lucasfilm Story Group executive Steve Blank described single-player storytelling as vital to the franchise’s game strategy. The result is a focused, cinematic shooter rather than a branching RPG: you follow Iden’s mission, move through set pieces and use blasters and battlefield abilities.
How it compares with Jedi
The camera and combat rhythm are the major change. Jedi asks you to read an opponent, close distance and manage Force powers; Battlefront II asks you to control space with ranged weapons, objectives and squad-scale firefights. It can include Star Wars heroes and spectacle, but its campaign is not a lightsaber-focused adventure.

The game as a whole places substantial emphasis on multiplayer battles. Its campaign is the relevant single-player component, so select it if you are comfortable buying a broader multiplayer title for its story. Do not treat the presence of a campaign as evidence that the entire product is an offline-only experience.

Star Wars: Squadrons: the dedicated starfighter story
A campaign built around pilots
Squadrons is the clearest recommendation for readers whose favorite Jedi moments involved movement and danger but who now want a completely different perspective. The story follows two customizable pilots—one serving the New Republic and one the Empire—after the Battle of Endor, near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. You fly iconic starfighters from a first-person cockpit and manage ship systems during missions.

StarWars.com describes a unique single-player story alongside 5v5 multiplayer modes. The campaign is therefore not a collection of disconnected training missions; it is a self-contained narrative that alternates viewpoints while teaching the flight model and ship roles.
VR and platforms
The official game description says the entire game can be played in VR. Lucasfilm’s announcement lists PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at launch, with VR support on PlayStation 4 and PC. Hardware, storefront and compatibility requirements can differ by edition, so verify your headset and platform before buying.
Who should skip it
Squadrons is not a substitute for a lightsaber adventure. If you dislike cockpit simulations, repeated flight maneuvers or mission objectives in open space, choose Battlefront II or Outlaws instead. If you want the most immersive starfighter experience in this set, however, no other listed game is as specialized.

Playing as Kay Vess
Outlaws answers the request for “Star Wars games like Jedi Survivor” only if “like” means a large third-person adventure rather than a Jedi combat system. Its protagonist is Kay Vess, a non-Jedi outlaw, accompanied by Nix. The story is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, a period shaped by Imperial control and criminal syndicates.
The official description emphasizes exploration, stealth, blaster combat, syndicate missions, speeder travel and space dogfights. You move between ground and space activities instead of following a mostly linear sequence of authored planets. Reputation with syndicates and the outlaw premise provide a different kind of tension from Cal’s fight against the Empire and the Inquisitors.

Why it belongs on a single-player list
Outlaws is presented as a solo action adventure, not an MMO or a competitive multiplayer product. Its value for a Jedi fan is the contrast: you rely on stealth, a blaster, Nix and a speeder rather than lightsaber stances and Force powers. Pick it when exploration and a non-Jedi protagonist are more important than direct continuity.
The Old Republic: an MMO bonus, not an offline substitute
What the game offers
The Old Republic is a free-to-play MMORPG set more than three thousand years before the films. Lucasfilm describes it as a player-created saga with story-driven class arcs. You create a character, choose a class and progress through a long-running online universe in which each class has its own narrative identity.
That structure can satisfy someone searching for “which Star Wars game has the best story?” if they enjoy committing to a class and living with an MMO’s pacing. It is less suitable for someone who wants a self-contained campaign that starts, ends and remains playable without a service connection.
The online limitation
The Old Republic is massively multiplayer and requires online play. It is not an offline single-player game, even when you spend most of a session following class missions alone. Include it only if shared servers, online progression and MMO systems are acceptable.
Which game has the best story?
The answer changes with the kind of story you mean. Survivor has the best continuity because it is the direct continuation of Cal Kestis’s arc. KOTOR has the strongest role-playing story because alignment decisions, companions and character development let you shape the journey. Battlefront II is the best fit for a compact cinematic military narrative that connects major film eras. Squadrons delivers a self-contained pilot story told from opposing factions. Outlaws focuses on an outlaw’s relationships, syndicates and survival in an open world. The Old Republic offers the greatest quantity of class-based storytelling, but only within an online MMO framework.
Decision guide by player type
For someone who finished only Fallen Order
- Play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
- Afterward, choose KOTOR if you want decisions and party progression.
- Choose Outlaws if you want a larger world and a non-Jedi hero.
For someone who finished both Jedi games
- Choose KOTOR for the deepest single-player RPG alternative.
- Choose Battlefront II for a cinematic blaster campaign.
- Choose Squadrons for first-person starfighter combat and optional VR.
- Choose Outlaws for open-world exploration.
- Choose The Old Republic only when online MMO play is acceptable.
For a strict offline requirement
Start with Survivor, KOTOR, Battlefront II’s campaign or Outlaws. Squadrons has a single-player story but also contains online multiplayer modes. Exclude The Old Republic because its core design is an online MMORPG.
For lightsaber-focused play
Survivor is the closest fit because its entire combat system is built around a third-person Jedi protagonist. KOTOR also includes lightsabers and Force powers, but its party-based RPG mechanics replace real-time parrying as the central skill. None of the shooter or flight recommendations is a lightsaber game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFinal recommendation
Use continuity as the first filter, then genre. Survivor is the automatic next step after Fallen Order. Once both Jedi games are complete, KOTOR is the most substantial single-player alternative for role-playing choices, Battlefront II is the most immediate cinematic shooter, Squadrons is the purpose-built flight campaign, and Outlaws is the broadest exploration-focused change. The Old Republic belongs on the list only with an explicit online-MMO qualification.
