There is no evidence-based universal winner for the best Satisfactory server hosting in 2026. The right choice depends on where your players live, how large your save is, how many people will connect, and whether the host supplies enough CPU and memory. GTX Gaming, Shockbyte and Nitrado all advertise Satisfactory-specific services, but the available information does not provide a consistent, current price-and-performance comparison.
Use this guide to match a paid, always-on server to your group. Check the provider’s live checkout for your country, billing term, allocated resources, data-center location, backup policy, save downloads and refund conditions before paying.

What Satisfactory dedicated-server hosting provides
Satisfactory supports dedicated servers in addition to a player-hosted session. A rented service keeps the game world available when the usual host is offline and avoids maintaining a home computer, operating system and internet connection around the clock. You can also administer a server yourself.
The official dedicated-server documentation lists three distribution routes: SteamCMD, the dedicated-server tool in the Steam client, and a free Epic Games Store add-on. The server software can run on Windows 10 or 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022, and Linux distributions such as Debian and Ubuntu.

- [Games need exclusions and runtimes, not malware]Some customers ask why our retro game drives can trigger Windows Security warnings. Many game files are older DLLs that Windows Defender sometimes flags as threats. They are not viruses or malware—just old or uncommon code causing false positives. We temporarily add them to the exclusion list so they aren't blocked, then re-enable Security to keep your PC protected. Many classic games also need legacy VC++ and DirectX runtimes, which modern Windows doesn't include by default. Installing them ensures compatibility and smooth play. Your safety matters to us—these are safe, standard steps for retro games.

Self-hosting requires broadband internet. A home server normally needs router port forwarding or a VPN, plus responsibility for updates, security, backups and hardware failures. A managed host handles much of that administration through a control panel, although you still remain responsible for your world saves, access permissions and configuration choices.
Hardware and software requirements
The requirements page recommends 8 GB of RAM for a dedicated server. It notes that 16 GB may be appropriate for larger saves or more than four players. These are recommendations, not guarantees for every map, mod set, save or concurrent player count.
CPU choice matters as much as memory. The documentation recommends a recent x86-64 processor with strong single-core performance. A plan advertising many player slots is not automatically faster: slot count does not reveal the processor generation, per-core speed, CPU limits or contention with other customers.
The requirements table lists approximately 12.4 GB of server files for Windows and 8 GB for Linux. Those figures describe the software in that reference and can change as the game is updated. Allow additional storage for saves, automatic backups, logs, temporary update files and any mods or configuration you install.
Practical sizing guide
| Situation | Starting point | Why you may need more |
|---|---|---|
| Small group, ordinary save | At least 8 GB RAM and a recent x86-64 CPU | Large factories, long-running worlds or heavy background activity can increase usage. |
| More than four players | Consider 16 GB RAM | The official guidance specifically identifies player counts above four as a reason to consider additional memory. |
| Large or mature save | Consider 16 GB RAM, fast storage and strong single-core CPU performance | World complexity and save size can create higher memory and simulation demand. |
| Self-hosted Linux or Windows machine | Reserve space beyond the listed 8 GB Linux or 12.4 GB Windows files | Backups, updates, logs and operating-system overhead need room. |
Treat these as planning guidance rather than a provider SLA. Ask the host whether the advertised memory is dedicated to your instance, whether CPU time is capped, and which processor family is used in the selected location.
How to choose a host for your group
1. Put the server near most players
Choose the data-center region that minimizes the distance to the majority of your players, not necessarily the location of the person who pays. A geographically central location can be a better compromise for a distributed group. Ask whether the displayed location is the physical server location or merely a regional label.
Location affects latency and the route between players and the simulation server. It cannot correct a weak CPU, overloaded node or unstable home connection, so evaluate it alongside resource allocation and support.

- Create, build and run the most realistic city you can imagine
- Connect your metropolis with other cities you've created to form a massive region of SimCities
- Sculpt mountains, gouge valleys, and seed forests
- Deploy police cruisers and fire trucks to the scene
- For 1 player
2. Verify memory and CPU allocation
Look for an explicit RAM amount, CPU model or at least a meaningful CPU policy, storage type and any throttling language. “Unlimited” or a high slot number is not a hardware specification. Compare the allocation with the 8 GB baseline and consider 16 GB for a large save or more than four players.
3. Inspect backups and save portability
Confirm how often backups run, how many versions are retained, where they are stored, and whether you can download them without opening a support ticket. Test the documented save-upload and save-download workflow before investing time in a world. A backup that cannot be restored or exported is not a complete migration plan.
4. Evaluate the control panel and support
You should be able to start and stop the server, view logs, change the game version, set passwords, upload a save, schedule restarts and invite administrators. Check support hours, response channels and whether staff will help with a save migration or only with infrastructure problems.
5. Calculate the real recurring price
Prices vary by country, currency, tax, billing interval, promotional period and selected resources. Compare the amount charged at renewal, not only an introductory figure. Record the plan’s memory, CPU policy, storage, location, backup options and any setup or cancellation fees beside the monthly total.
6. Read refund and cancellation terms
Find the deadline for requesting a refund, whether it starts at payment or server activation, and whether usage, setup fees or upgrades are excluded. Save a copy of the terms shown at checkout. A provider’s advertised refund window does not override the detailed conditions.
Providers with Satisfactory-specific offers
The following services have Satisfactory-specific pages or offers. The information shown is not a like-for-like performance ranking; several important commercial and technical details were not available on a consistent basis.
| Provider | What is publicly indicated | Verify before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| GTX Gaming | Satisfactory-specific hosting, a control panel, save-upload guidance, 19 worldwide locations, daily automatic backups and a 24-hour refund offer. These are claims on the provider page, updated 7 October 2026. | Current price and renewal price in your region; the exact location list; CPU and RAM allocation; backup retention and restore process; and the detailed conditions attached to the 24-hour refund. |
| Shockbyte | Satisfactory-specific hosting. A search result mentions 6 GB of RAM, but the available excerpt does not establish the plan, date or conditions behind that figure. | Do not treat 6 GB as a definitive current specification. Confirm the selected plan’s memory, CPU policy, price, region, backups, save access and refund terms on the live product page. |
| Nitrado | Satisfactory-specific hosting. Its page snippet says the active game can be switched and that a server can support up to five games. | Check current price, allocated resources, physical location, game-switching restrictions, backup and export features, and cancellation terms for your billing period. |
None of these excerpts establishes independent uptime, latency, simulation performance or customer-satisfaction measurements. No provider can be named the categorical best on this information alone.

GTX Gaming: what to check
GTX Gaming’s provider page reports 19 worldwide locations, daily automatic backups, a control panel and a 24-hour refund offer. Those are provider-reported terms, not independently measured results. Confirm that the location you need is available for the exact Satisfactory plan, then read the backup retention and refund conditions rather than relying on the headline claims.
The page also explains setup and save upload. Before starting a valuable world, make a local copy of the save, upload it through the documented panel, launch the server, and verify that the correct world, player permissions and settings are present. Download a copy afterward so you know the export path works.
Shockbyte: avoid assuming the RAM figure is comparable
Shockbyte has a Satisfactory-specific offer, and a result excerpt mentions 6 GB of RAM. The excerpt does not identify a complete plan configuration, billing term or whether the memory is dedicated. Because the official guidance recommends 8 GB, treat the 6 GB mention as a prompt to investigate, not as proof that the service is under-sized or suitable.
Ask support or check the current plan page for the exact memory allocation, CPU limits, storage, region and backup behavior. Confirm whether changing plans preserves the same server location and whether you can download the save at any time.
Nitrado: check game switching and limits
Nitrado advertises a Satisfactory-specific service. The available page snippet says the active game can be switched and that up to five games can be supported per server. Clarify whether “five games” means five selectable installations, simultaneous instances or a rotation over the life of the service; the snippet alone does not define that behavior.
Before subscribing, verify the Satisfactory instance’s RAM and CPU resources, save-export method, backup schedule, physical location, renewal price and cancellation rules. If you switch games, establish how saves are preserved and whether a game change causes downtime or resets configuration.

Setup workflow after you subscribe
- Select the region and resources. Choose the location nearest most players, then select memory and CPU capacity based on your save and group size rather than slot count alone.
- Record the service details. Save the server address, panel URL, account recovery method, billing date and the terms shown at checkout.
- Install or select Satisfactory. Use the host’s Satisfactory template or installer. Confirm the game version and wait for the first installation to complete before uploading a world.
- Configure access. Set a strong panel password, a separate in-game password if supported, and administrator permissions only for trusted players.
- Upload the save. Stop the server if required, upload the local save through the panel or file manager, place it in the documented save directory, and start the server.
- Validate the world. Join with one player first. Check the factory, player ownership, settings, mods if applicable, and map state before inviting everyone.
- Test recovery. Create or trigger a backup, download it, and confirm that the panel shows a usable restore option.
- Monitor during the first sessions. Watch CPU, memory, console logs and disconnects while the group builds. Upgrade resources only after identifying a sustained bottleneck.
Common problems and fixes
Players experience lag or rubber-banding
First compare player locations with the server region and test at different times. Then inspect CPU usage and the host’s performance policy. A high slot allowance does not prove adequate single-core speed. If memory is consistently exhausted, move from an 8 GB plan toward 16 GB, especially for a large save or more than four players.
The server starts with a new world
Stop the instance, check the save filename and directory required by the host, and confirm the upload completed rather than remaining in a temporary folder. Keep the original local save untouched. If the panel has a world-selection menu, select the uploaded save before restarting.
A save appears missing after an update
Do not overwrite the local copy. Check the provider’s backup list and restore the most recent known-good version to a separate location if the panel supports it. Confirm the game version and file permissions, then contact support with the server ID, timestamps and backup name.
Players cannot connect
Verify that the server is running, the address and port are correct, and the server is not still updating. Check passwords and allow-list settings. For self-hosting, inspect port forwarding or VPN rules; managed hosts generally expose the required endpoint in the control panel.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
The server runs out of disk space
Remove obsolete logs and backups only after downloading anything you may need. Check whether the host retains more backup versions than expected and ask about storage expansion. Leave room for updates rather than filling the disk to the current save size.
When self-hosting is the better option
Self-hosting can make sense if you already have a reliable always-on machine, a stable broadband connection, technical confidence and a plan for backups and security. The software itself is available through SteamCMD, the Steam client tool or the free Epic Games Store add-on, so there is no hosting subscription.
The trade-off is operational work: port forwarding or a VPN, firewall configuration, operating-system updates, power and network outages, save protection and troubleshooting. A rented server is usually preferable when the group values 24-hour availability and does not want one player’s computer or home connection to be the dependency.
How to make the final decision
- List the players’ countries or regions and choose the nearest available location.
- Classify the world as ordinary, large or mature, and note whether more than four players will connect.
- Reject any plan that does not clearly meet the memory recommendation or explain its CPU allocation.
- Compare backup retention, restore and save-export procedures before comparing headline prices.
- Calculate the renewal cost in your currency for the actual billing term.
- Read the refund and cancellation conditions and save a copy.
- Choose the provider whose verified resources, location and recovery controls fit your group; do not use slot count as the deciding metric.
Bottom line
GTX Gaming, Shockbyte and Nitrado are reasonable starting points because each has a Satisfactory-specific offer, but the available information does not support ranking one as the best host for every group. A sound 2026 purchase is the plan with a nearby location, at least the recommended memory, credible single-core CPU capacity, usable backups and save export, a manageable control panel, and a renewal price and refund policy you have verified for your region.
