For a television that is exactly 43 inches, Samsung’s 2025 QN90F Neo QLED 4K is the strongest supported choice in the U.S. lineup. The U.S. model is QN43QN90FAFXZA. It combines a 43-inch size with high-brightness Neo QLED picture technology, Glare Free anti-reflection treatment and gaming-focused refresh-rate support. It is the best fit when the set must measure 43 inches, the room receives substantial daylight, or you plan to connect a modern console or gaming PC.

There is one important qualification: Samsung’s S90F OLED is a compelling alternative for near-perfect contrast and vivid gaming, but the smallest version is 42 inches, not 43. An older QN90D can also be attractive when discounted, while Samsung’s March 24, 2026 U.S. announcement adds a 43-inch M70H Mini LED model without identifying a 43-inch QN90 successor. Your final choice should therefore match the exact physical size, room lighting, gaming requirements, regional model number, price and warranty.

The direct answer: choose the QN90F when 43 inches is non-negotiable

Samsung identifies the QN90F as a 2025, 43-inch Class Neo QLED 4K Vision AI Smart TV in the United States. Its full U.S. model code is QN43QN90FAFXZA. That exact-size listing is why it leads this guide: many small OLED alternatives are marketed near 43 inches but are actually 42 inches.

The QN90F is particularly well suited to a bright living room, desk setup or gaming space. An independent roundup found it brighter in HDR than the S90F and specifically suitable for small-screen gaming in a bright room. Samsung’s product information highlights Motion Xcelerator 165Hz, NQ4 AI Gen3 processing, 4K AI Upscaling Pro and Glare Free treatment.

Samsung’s U.S. page displayed $1,299.99 when crawled. That is a dated page price, not a guaranteed current street price. Before ordering, check the live price, inventory, return period, warranty terms and the complete model suffix for your country.

What the QN90F specification actually tells you

The following details combine Samsung’s U.S. product description with the more explicit specification list on Samsung’s U.K. page. The U.K. figures are useful for understanding the model’s capabilities, but they do not guarantee that every regional suffix has identical firmware, tuner, power or connectivity specifications.

Specification QN90F information Qualification
Screen size 43 inches Confirmed in Samsung’s U.S. listing; this is the exact-size recommendation.
Resolution 3,840 × 2,160 (4K) Listed on Samsung’s U.K. product page.
Display family Neo QLED 4K Samsung’s 2025 U.S. product naming.
Refresh rate 120Hz, up to 165Hz Samsung U.K. specification; verify the local model page.
HDMI inputs Four Samsung U.K. lists four HDMI ports.
HDMI bandwidth claim 4K/165Hz on HDMI 1–4 Samsung U.K. listing; regional implementations can differ.
Audio return eARC Listed by Samsung U.K.
Anti-reflection Glare Free Described by Samsung for the QN90F.
Processing NQ4 AI Gen3 Samsung product-page terminology.
Upscaling 4K AI Upscaling Pro Samsung product-page terminology.
U.S. model code QN43QN90FAFXZA Use the code when checking retailer listings and warranty coverage.
Page price observed $1,299.99 Displayed on Samsung’s U.S. page at crawl time; not a stable or guaranteed current price.

The 165Hz figure matters mainly to PC players with a compatible graphics card. A console may not output 165 frames per second, but the four HDMI inputs and eARC can simplify a setup with a console, PC, soundbar and streaming device. Confirm that your specific source, cable and game support the desired resolution and frame rate; a television cannot create a higher frame rate than the source supplies.

Why the QN90F is the best fit for a bright room

High-light output helps with daytime viewing

The independent comparison used for this recommendation reports that the QN90F is brighter in HDR than Samsung’s S90F. That difference is most useful when sunlight or strong lamps wash out darker displays. The QN90F’s Glare Free treatment is also intended to reduce reflections, although no screen coating eliminates every reflection or improves an unfavorable viewing angle.

Exact dimensions can matter more than panel type

A 43-inch television can fit a cabinet, media niche or monitor arm that will not accommodate a 42-inch or larger set in the same way. Measure the available width and height, including the stand if you will not wall-mount it. Treat “42-inch class” and “43-inch class” labels as different measurements until the manufacturer’s regional page confirms the actual diagonal.

Gaming features are unusually relevant at this size

Samsung’s U.K. listing gives the QN90F a 120Hz refresh rate with support up to 165Hz and 4K/165Hz capability on all four HDMI ports. This is useful for a high-refresh PC connection and leaves every HDMI input capable of the stated high-bandwidth mode. Actual performance still depends on the graphics card, game, cable, operating settings and regional firmware.

When the 42-inch S90F OLED is the better decision

The S90F deserves consideration if your priority is OLED contrast and colorful gaming rather than an exact 43-inch measurement. Tom’s Guide describes it as a strong gaming television with near-perfect contrast and vivid color, while explicitly noting that the small model is 42 inches.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That one-inch difference is not merely a wording detail. If a cabinet, mount or replacement policy requires 43 inches, the S90F does not meet the stated size requirement. If the set is going into a controlled-light room and you value OLED’s very dark blacks more than maximum daytime brightness, the S90F may be the more satisfying picture choice.

Tom’s Guide also lists no Dolby Vision and middling built-in audio among the S90F’s drawbacks. Those observations should be treated as that roundup’s evaluation, not as a universal measurement of every viewing environment. The S90F comparison is therefore a priority decision: OLED contrast and vivid color at 42 inches versus the QN90F’s exact 43-inch size and brighter-room orientation.

Priority More relevant model Reason
Exactly 43 inches QN90F Samsung’s U.S. listing confirms a 43-inch model.
Bright room and HDR impact QN90F An independent roundup reports higher HDR brightness than the S90F.
OLED contrast in a dim room S90F OLED Reported near-perfect contrast, but the small version is 42 inches.
High-refresh PC gaming QN90F Samsung U.K. lists up to 165Hz and 4K/165Hz on HDMI 1–4.
Built-in audio expectations Check both locally The S90F roundup calls its audio middling; no equivalent QN90F audio assessment is established here.

Should you buy the older QN90D instead?

Do not assume that the newer model automatically wins every comparison. RTINGS gives the QN90D a slight overall edge, principally because of better contrast and color vibrancy. That makes a discounted QN90D worth investigating if local stock, warranty and condition are satisfactory.

The gaming trade-off is nuanced. RTINGS reports that the QN90D loses much of its HDR brightness in Game Mode, while the QN90F has worse black levels caused by zone transitions in Game Mode. In other words, the older set may preserve some contrast and color advantages, while the newer set changes how dark-scene transitions look during gaming. Neither description supports a blanket “newer is better” or “older is better” conclusion.

Compare the exact diagonal, regional suffix, panel condition, return rights and warranty before accepting a clearance deal. A 50-inch QN90D, imported variant or open-box unit is not an equivalent substitute for a new U.S. 43-inch QN90F.

What the 2026 Samsung lineup changes—and what it does not

Samsung’s March 24, 2026 U.S. announcement names a 43-inch M70H Mini LED television and also announces refreshed Neo QLED ranges. The announcement does not identify a 43-inch QN90 successor.

This is useful buying context, not proof that no successor exists anywhere in the world. Product names, suffixes and release timing differ by market, and a U.S. announcement cannot establish global availability or current retailer inventory. The M70H should be treated as a newer, lower-tier option named in that announcement, not as a confirmed QN90F-class replacement.

Samsung’s 2025 lineup announcement included a promotional statement from Shane Higby, Head of Home Entertainment at Samsung Electronics America: “With our new Mini LED TVs and Neo QLED 4K series, we’re offering incredible value for shoppers at every price point.” That is Samsung’s marketing position, not an independent test result.

Choose by room, content and equipment

For a sunlit living room

Start with the QN90F. Its reported HDR-brightness advantage over the S90F and Glare Free treatment address the two problems that most often undermine daytime viewing: insufficient highlight impact and reflections. Position the screen so windows are not directly opposite it, because even an anti-reflection coating has limits.

For a dark movie room

The S90F’s OLED contrast may be more attractive if 42 inches fits your furniture. If 43 inches is mandatory, retain the QN90F shortlist and compare return policies rather than buying an incorrectly sized OLED simply because its panel technology sounds superior.

For console gaming

Check the console’s maximum output first. The QN90F’s 120Hz capability can support high-frame-rate console modes where the game and console offer them. Use one HDMI input for the console and reserve the remaining ports for a gaming PC, soundbar eARC connection or another source. Enable the console’s 4K, HDR and high-refresh options only after the television and cable are confirmed to support them.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

For a gaming PC

The QN90F’s listed 4K/165Hz support is most relevant here. A graphics card must render the game at the required frame rate, and the cable must carry the selected signal. If the desktop reports only 60Hz, check the operating-system display settings, GPU control panel, input label and cable before blaming the television.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For mixed family viewing

The QN90F offers a practical balance: exact 43-inch sizing, strong bright-room suitability and multiple high-bandwidth HDMI inputs. If family members watch mostly in a dark room and do not need 43 inches, the S90F’s contrast may justify the size compromise.

Buying checklist: verify the television before paying

  1. Confirm the diagonal. Read the manufacturer listing and verify that it says 43 inches, not 42 inches or a larger “43-inch class” description with different regional measurements.
  2. Match the model code. For the U.S. QN90F, look for QN43QN90FAFXZA. Other countries can use different suffixes; do not assume a gray-market code has the same tuner, warranty or HDMI behavior.
  3. Check the live price. The $1,299.99 U.S. page price was observed at crawl time and may have changed. Compare the current total, delivery charge and any mandatory installation fee.
  4. Read the return policy. Large-screen returns can involve pickup requirements, restocking conditions or short reporting windows for damage. Save the policy page and your order confirmation.
  5. Verify warranty geography. Confirm that the warranty applies to the country where you will use the TV and that the seller is authorized for that region.
  6. Count your connections. The U.K. specification lists four HDMI ports, 4K/165Hz on HDMI 1–4 and eARC. Confirm the same details on your local product page before planning a complex setup.
  7. Measure the installation area. Account for the stand footprint, wall clearance, cable bend radius and viewing distance. A diagonal measurement alone does not guarantee a cabinet will fit.
  8. Decide whether 165Hz matters. If you use only a console or streaming box, 120Hz may be the practical ceiling. If you use a capable PC, retain the 165Hz requirement and verify the GPU and cable.
  9. Inspect on delivery. Photograph the carton before opening, check the panel and bezel for damage, and test every HDMI input during the return window.

Setup steps for the QN90F

1. Install and update safely

Place the television on a stable surface or use a mount rated for its weight. Leave ventilation space and avoid pinching HDMI or power cables. Complete the on-screen setup, connect it to your network if desired, and install available firmware updates before evaluating picture or gaming behavior.

2. Label each HDMI source

Connect the console, PC, soundbar and other devices one at a time. Label each input with its source so you can identify a signal problem quickly. Connect a soundbar to the HDMI port identified for eARC on your regional documentation, then confirm that audio returns from every source.

3. Configure the source before changing picture settings

Set the console or PC to the desired resolution and refresh rate first. On a PC, verify 3,840 × 2,160 and the available refresh-rate options in the operating-system display panel. If 165Hz is unavailable, test another certified cable, another HDMI input and the GPU’s output settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. Test HDR and Game Mode separately

Use a known HDR game or video, then compare it with standard dynamic range. Game Mode can change brightness and black-level behavior; RTINGS’ QN90D/QN90F comparison specifically identifies different Game Mode trade-offs. Judge the setting with the content you actually play rather than with a menu screen.

5. Check reflections in the real room

View the screen at the times you normally watch. Glare Free treatment can reduce reflections, but repositioning a lamp or changing the screen angle may produce a larger improvement than any menu adjustment.

Common pitfalls and how to recover

The listing says 43 inches, but the box says 42

Stop installation and compare the full model code with the seller’s invoice. The S90F is the documented example of a nearby Samsung OLED that is actually 42 inches. If the size is a contractual requirement, use the retailer’s return process rather than relying on a verbal promise.

The television is advertised at a tempting discount

Check whether it is a QN90D, an open-box QN90F, an imported suffix or a different screen size. Compare warranty coverage and return shipping before treating the lower price as a like-for-like deal.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

HDR looks dim in games

Confirm that the source is outputting HDR, that the HDMI input is configured for the required signal and that the game is not applying an overly low calibration value. Remember that RTINGS reports substantial HDR-brightness loss for the QN90D in Game Mode; do not transfer that finding automatically to every QN90F unit or mode.

Dark scenes show distracting transitions

Zone-transition behavior can affect black levels in Game Mode. RTINGS specifically reports worse black levels from zone transitions for the QN90F, while describing a different HDR-brightness trade-off for the QN90D. Compare the two models with your own games during the return period instead of assuming a menu setting will eliminate the behavior.

The PC will not show 165Hz

Verify that the PC is connected directly to an HDMI input listed for 4K/165Hz, select the correct refresh rate in the operating system, update the graphics driver and test a cable capable of the signal. A source that cannot render or transmit 165Hz will remain at a lower rate even when the television supports it.

Final decision framework

Your situation Recommendation What to verify
Must be exactly 43 inches; bright room; gaming is important QN90F Local suffix, current price, four HDMI details and warranty.
Can accept 42 inches; wants OLED contrast and colorful gaming S90F OLED 42-inch size, no Dolby Vision and the roundup’s middling-audio caveat.
Finds a large discount on the previous generation QN90D, conditionally Game Mode HDR brightness, contrast/color trade-offs, condition and warranty.
Wants a 2026 model named by Samsung 43-inch M70H Whether its tier, specifications and availability meet your needs; it is not identified as a QN90 successor.

For the title’s strict requirement, the answer remains the Samsung QN90F: it is the supported 43-inch choice, with the strongest documented fit for bright-room viewing and high-refresh gaming. Choose the S90F only when accepting 42 inches is deliberate, and consider the QN90D or M70H only after checking the exact regional product, warranty and current deal.
