Dialogue, experimentation, and role-play are the main tools. To uncover more of the game, treat conversations and ordinary actions as potential sources of information rather than interruptions between battles.

A clue can be useful even when you do not yet know what to do with it. In Outer Wilds, remembering an observation may be more valuable than immediately forcing a solution. Nintendo lists Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition for Nintendo Switch as a named physical edition. Its product description repeats the game’s emphasis on hidden locations that change over time and hazards that protect secrets.
