Best for carpet and pet hair: the Yeedi C14 Pro Plus, but only when its live price is below $300. Vacuum Wars listed it at $329.99 in its October 2026 guide, while reporting 94% flattened-pet-hair pickup and 0% hair wrap in a controlled test. Best for hard-floor upkeep with a self-empty dock: the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2, listed at $299 by Tom’s Guide, although its test collected only 40% of a 5 g hair sample and it struggled on high-pile carpet.

Neither is a universal deep-cleaning replacement for a full-size vacuum. Choose by carpet depth, shedding level, dock preference and the current street price—not by advertised suction alone.

How to choose for pets and mixed floors

Start with carpet depth and coverage

Mixed flooring is not one use case. A home with mostly sealed hard floors and a few low-pile rugs asks for different behavior than a home with wall-to-wall medium or plush carpet. High-pile carpet increases the chance of brush resistance, incomplete hair pickup and navigation problems. The cited evidence favors the Yeedi for carpet work, while Tom’s Guide specifically reports that the Dreame struggles on high-pile carpet.

Map where the robot will actually clean. If pets shed in carpeted bedrooms but spend most of the day on hard floors, give carpet performance more weight than a headline suction figure. If the robot will mainly collect crumbs, litter and dust from hard flooring, the Dreame’s debris results are more relevant.

Separate measured pickup from advertised suction

The Dreame advertises 6,000 Pa suction. That is a specification describing pressure under the manufacturer’s stated measurement method, not a standardized household hair score. Vacuum Wars’ 94% flattened-hair result for the Yeedi and Tom’s Guide’s 40% result for the Dreame are controlled pickup outcomes. They are more useful for a pet-hair decision, but each belongs to its publisher’s test setup and does not guarantee the same result in every home.

Decide whether self-emptying is essential

A self-empty dock reduces how often you handle the robot’s small onboard bin. It does not make the robot clean more effectively. The Yeedi uses a bagless auto-empty dock, so there is no disposable dust-bag format to replace. The Dreame uses a dust bag; budget for compatible replacements and verify that the bag fits the exact D10 Plus Gen 2 variant.

Treat budget mopping as maintenance, not scrubbing

Both candidates have basic mopping rather than a demonstrated floor-scrubbing system. Vacuum Wars rated the Yeedi’s flat mop well below average. Tom’s Guide describes the Dreame mop as suitable for light refreshes, not dried or sticky residue. Plan to remove spills manually and use the mop only after loose debris has been vacuumed.

Yeedi C14 Pro Plus: the carpet-and-hair choice when discounted

What the testing supports

Vacuum Wars’ October 2026 guide reports that the C14 Pro Plus picked up 94% of flattened pet hair in its studio evaluation. In the same publisher’s 7-inch tangle test, 0% of hair wrapped around the main and side brushes, compared with a reported 26% average for the test group. Those are controlled results, not a promise that a household brush will never need cleaning.

The guide also describes above-average carpet deep-cleaning performance, navigation and battery efficiency. That combination makes the Yeedi the stronger evidence-backed candidate for homes where pet hair in carpet is the primary problem.

Navigation, dock and floor-care trade-offs

The robot uses LiDAR navigation and a bagless auto-empty dock. LiDAR can help it build a room map and follow repeatable routes, but the Yeedi does not have dedicated obstacle avoidance. Cables, toys, socks and pet bowls therefore remain the owner’s responsibility before a run. The dock’s bagless design avoids disposable bags, while the dustbin and filters still require routine emptying and cleaning.

The mop is the clear compromise. Vacuum Wars reports a well-below-average score for the basic flat mop and no automated mop care. Select a vacuum-only routine for carpet, keep the mopping pad off carpeted areas, and do not expect the robot to remove dried food, muddy paw prints or sticky residue.

Who should buy it

  • Choose it when carpet and pet-hair pickup matter more than mopping.
  • Choose it when a bagless self-empty dock is useful.
  • Choose it only after confirming a live price below $300; the cited $329.99 price does not meet the title’s ceiling.
  • Skip it if unattended obstacle avoidance or meaningful automated mop maintenance is a requirement.

Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2: hard-floor convenience at the ceiling

What the testing supports

Tom’s Guide lists the D10 Plus Gen 2 at $299 and reports strong routine hard-floor results: 97% pickup of rice cereal and 100% pickup of flax seeds in its cited floor test. It includes mapping, a self-empty dock and an app the review describes as easy to use.

The pet-hair result is much less convincing. In the same standardized test, it collected 40% of a 5 g hair sample. Tom’s Guide also says the robot struggles on high-pile carpet. A hard-floor-heavy home with occasional shedding is a more defensible match than a plush-carpet home with heavy daily shedding.

Dock, consumables and mop limits

The dock automatically empties the robot into a dust bag. That is convenient, but it creates an ongoing consumable: verify the exact replacement-bag compatibility and current availability before buying spares. The dock does not eliminate filter, brush or sensor maintenance.

The included mop is intended for light refreshes. It is not supported by the cited review as a tool for dried spills or sticky patches. Vacuum first, damp-mop only on appropriate sealed flooring, and remove the pad before sending the robot across carpet.

Who should buy it

  • Choose it when most cleaning happens on hard floors and you want mapping plus automatic bin emptying.
  • Choose it when the $299 listed price is still available and the dock is included in the selected package.
  • Do not make it your first choice for heavy shedding, thick rugs or high-pile carpet.

What “under $300” usually means

A manufacturer-authored budget guide from eufy says sub-$300 robots commonly suit smaller homes, hard floors and shallower rugs. It also cautions that proper room maps and self-emptying docks are not standard at this price, and that mopping may be limited to light maintenance. Because that guidance comes from a manufacturer rather than an independent comparison, use it as market context, not as a performance ranking.

At this budget, features can vary by model and package:

  • Mapping: confirm whether the robot creates persistent room maps or merely navigates around obstacles during a run.
  • Obstacle handling: LiDAR mapping is not the same as camera- or sensor-based object avoidance.
  • Self-emptying: check whether the dock is bagless or requires proprietary bags.
  • Mopping: look for model-specific cleaning evidence instead of assuming a water tank means scrubbing ability.
  • Included hardware: retailer bundles can omit the dock or substitute a different regional variant.

Use the test numbers correctly

Hair percentage is test-specific

Vacuum Wars’ 94% figure concerns flattened pet hair in its studio setup. Tom’s Guide’s 40% figure concerns a 5 g hair sample in its standardized test. The different materials, surfaces, run times and collection methods mean the percentages should not be treated as a laboratory head-to-head score. They do show a meaningful direction in the published evidence: the Yeedi has stronger cited hair pickup, while the Dreame has a weaker hair result.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Tangle tests measure maintenance risk, not immunity

The Yeedi’s 0% wrap result against a 26% test average indicates low tangling under that 7-inch setup. Long hair, string, thread and fur can still lodge around brush bearings or side-brush hubs. Inspect the brush assembly regularly, especially if a pet has long fur or the robot’s cleaning time starts increasing.

Debris tests favor specific materials

The Dreame’s 97% rice-cereal and 100% flax-seed results show useful hard-floor debris pickup for those test materials. They do not establish equivalent performance for wet food, litter dust, heavy grit, embedded carpet hair or every particle size.

Match the robot to your household

Mostly carpet, one or more shedding pets

Wait for the Yeedi C14 Pro Plus to fall below $300. Its cited carpet and hair results are the best fit among the two candidates, and its bagless dock reduces disposable-bag handling. Keep expectations realistic about the weak mop and the lack of dedicated obstacle avoidance.

Mostly sealed hard floors, light-to-moderate shedding

The Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 is the more straightforward match if the $299 price and dust-bag dock are acceptable. Its cited cereal and flax-seed pickup supports routine dry debris cleaning. Add manual vacuuming where hair accumulates and do not rely on it for high-pile rugs.

Mixed floors with thick rugs and frequent messes

Neither cited option has evidence that covers every need. Use the robot for scheduled maintenance, but keep a full-size vacuum for carpet edges, stairs, upholstery, deeply embedded hair and large or wet pet messes. A robot’s small bin, brush width and battery cycle make it a maintenance tool rather than a complete cleaning system.

Homes with toys, cables or pet bowls left on the floor

Prioritize a clear-floor routine regardless of model. The Yeedi’s lack of dedicated obstacle avoidance means unattended runs can be interrupted by ordinary household objects. The Dreame’s mapping does not remove the need to check the floor; mapping and object avoidance are separate capabilities.

Setup and maintenance checklist

  1. Confirm the package: check the model name, regional variant, dock, power adapter and mop hardware before opening the box.
  2. Prepare the floor: remove cables, socks, toys, loose pet dishes and strings that can wind around a brush.
  3. Create the map: run the initial mapping cycle with doors open to the rooms you want included. After the map is saved, label rooms and set no-go or no-mop zones where the app supports them.
  4. Separate floor routines: schedule vacuum-only cleaning for carpet and use the mop only on compatible sealed hard flooring.
  5. Inspect after early runs: check the main brush, side brush, wheels, intake and sensors for fur or debris. Early inspection reveals whether your pet’s hair is unlike the published test material.
  6. Maintain the dock: empty the Yeedi’s bagless container before airflow drops; replace the Dreame dust bag when the dock indicates it is full or emptying weakens.
  7. Clean filters and sensors: follow the model’s care instructions, keep charging contacts dry and wipe navigation sensors when maps become inaccurate.
  8. Keep a manual vacuum available: use it for stairs, upholstery, corners, deep carpet cleaning and any pet mess the robot is not designed to collect.

Common buying mistakes and fixes

Mistake: treating 6,000 Pa as proof of pet performance

Fix: use measured hair and tangle results first. The Dreame’s advertised 6,000 Pa does not override its 40% hair-sample result.

Mistake: assuming every $299 listing includes the same dock

Fix: verify the package contents and model suffix. A robot-only listing is not equivalent to a bundle with a self-empty dock.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Mistake: buying for mopping when the evidence supports only wiping

Fix: reserve these basic mops for light maintenance after vacuuming. Remove dried or sticky residue manually.

Mistake: ignoring recurring consumables

Fix: account for filters, brushes and, for the Dreame, compatible dust bags. Confirm availability for the exact D10 Plus Gen 2 version before committing.

Mistake: assuming a no-tangle score means zero maintenance

Fix: inspect brushes and bearings on a schedule. The Yeedi’s 0% result came from a defined 7-inch test and does not cover every fiber or household condition.

Price and availability check before purchase

  • Record the current total price, including required shipping or taxes where shown.
  • Confirm that the Yeedi price is actually below $300; the cited October 2026 listing was $329.99.
  • Confirm that the Dreame listing is the D10 Plus Gen 2, not a similarly named generation or regional variant.
  • Verify that the self-empty dock is included.
  • Check return terms and replacement-part availability.
  • Recheck price close to purchase because both figures are snapshots: $329.99 for the Yeedi in Vacuum Wars’ October 2026 guide and $299 for the Dreame in Tom’s Guide’s 2026 review.

Bottom line for pet homes with mixed flooring

Choose the Yeedi C14 Pro Plus if it is discounted below $300 and your priority is pet hair on carpet plus a bagless self-empty dock. Its published 94% flattened-hair pickup, 0% tangle result and above-average carpet performance provide the strongest fit for that job, while its weak mop and limited obstacle avoidance are meaningful compromises.

Choose the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 at its listed $299 price when hard floors dominate and dock convenience matters more than heavy hair or plush-carpet performance. Its hard-floor debris results are encouraging, but the 40% hair pickup and reported high-pile limitations make it the weaker choice for shedding-heavy carpeted homes.
