The best robot vacuum and mop is the one that matches your floor mix and the messes you actually have. Hard-floor debris results do not predict high-pile carpet performance, and a dock that washes pads can still require regular tank, tray, brush, and dust-bag care.
For a lower-cost, feature-rich starting point, Tom’s Guide’s 2026 testing supports the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2: it collected 80% of Cheerios and 95% of kitty litter on hard floors, with spinning pads, self-cleaning, hot-air drying, and listed 10,000 Pa suction. Its navigation occasionally struggled and it needed extra passes for pet hair on rugs. The Roborock QV 35S is a stronger evidence-based choice for hard floors and low-pile carpet, while the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete targets premium dock automation and the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai prioritizes mopping. Treat every price as a dated snapshot and match the machine to your surfaces before buying.

Mostly sealed hard floors
Prioritize debris pickup, stain handling, edge reach, and water control. The QV 35S has the clearest hard-floor numbers in the cited coverage: 92% of test hair, 94.5% of puffed rice cereal, and 98% of flax seeds on hardwood in Tom’s Guide’s review. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a sensible budget candidate when its 80% Cheerios and 95% kitty-litter results match the debris in your home. Those figures are publisher-specific hard-floor tests, not guarantees for every flooring finish or object.

Its dual rotating electric side brushes sweep and collect hidden pet hair more efficiently throughout the house, saving you the hassle.
Hard floors with low-pile rugs
Look for carpet sensing plus a way to keep wet pads off the rug. The QV 35S recognized carpet and lifted its mop pads during a combined run. That protects the surface better than running wet pads everywhere, but lifting is not a promise that every rug will stay perfectly dry or free of transferred soil. The same model’s low-pile results were mixed: 60% test-hair pickup, 93% puffed-rice pickup, and 99.5% flax-seed pickup.
High-pile carpet and substantial pet hair
Do not infer high-pile performance from hardwood suction figures. Tom’s Guide reports that the QV 35S had further difficulty with hair and smaller debris on high-pile carpet. Tom’s Guide also reports extra passes for pet hair on rugs with the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. If high-pile carpet is the dominant surface, schedule additional vacuum-only passes, keep the robot’s brush and bin clear, and consider a conventional upright or canister for periodic deep cleaning.
How the leading candidates performed
Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2: budget features with documented caveats
Tom’s Guide identifies the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 as a budget robot mop with spinning pads, self-cleaning, hot-air drying, and listed 10,000 Pa suction. In its hard-floor tests, the robot picked up 80% of Cheerios and 95% of kitty litter. Tom’s Guide describes the mop as capable with sticky messes, which makes this model attractive for kitchens and dining areas where dried food is common.

The trade-off is navigation and rug work. The guide says navigation sometimes struggled, and pet hair on rugs required extra passes. A home with tight chair legs, changing obstacles, or a complicated room layout therefore demands more supervision than an open-plan hard-floor apartment. Retail listings and prices change, so verify the exact generation and current local availability before ordering.
Roborock QV 35S: strongest detailed hard-floor comparison
The QV 35S offers the most granular debris comparison in the cited material. Tom’s Guide recorded 92% test-hair, 94.5% puffed-rice-cereal, and 98% flax-seed pickup on hardwood. On low-pile carpet, the same tests produced 60% hair, 93% cereal, and 99.5% flax. The spread shows why a single suction number cannot answer whether a combo is right for your house: hair embedded in carpet was much harder than loose seeds on either surface.
For mopping, Tom’s Guide says the robot recognized carpet and lifted its pads. It cleaned mud and dried soy sauce over repeated passes, but some oily mayonnaise residue remained. That is useful evidence for everyday dried splashes, not proof that one pass removes grease or that delicate flooring is safe with every cleaning solution.
The dock handles dust emptying, water management, and mop-pad cleaning. You still need to provide a suitable location, refill or empty tanks when prompted, inspect the wash area, and keep the robot’s brushes and sensors clear.

MOVA V70 Ultra Complete: premium dock and edge features
Vacuum Wars’ guide, updated October 7, 2026, places the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete in its $1,000–$1,300 premium tier and lists a $999 sale price at the time of access. The guide describes spinning pads, automatic mop removal, edge cleaning, detergent dispensing, and a bagless dock. Those features target owners who want fewer hands-on mop cycles and more coverage along walls.
The price is a time-sensitive snapshot, and the selection is Vacuum Wars’ price-tier pick rather than evidence of a universal best. Vacuum Wars says its broader evaluation measures 14 dried stains, water left behind, carpet handling, navigation, and mop and dock features. Use that methodology to understand what was considered, but do not assume its category ranking predicts your floor plan.
Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai: choose when mopping leads
Tom’s Guide calls the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai the best robot vacuum/mop combo it tested in its guide. The cited specifications include a roller mop, self-cleaning, self-drying, and listed 18,000 Pa suction. A roller system and the source’s mopping assessment make it the candidate to investigate when dried spills and frequent wet cleaning matter more than minimizing purchase cost.

- UP TO 75 DAYS HANDS-FREE CLEANING. Dirt and dust stay gone because it empties into the AutoEmpty dock with a bag that traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns. That means no mess or cloud of dust when you empty it. Just drop the used bag into the trash and put a new one in the base.
- DEVOURS DIRT WITH 70X MORE POWER-LIFTING SUCTION. Find, reach and eliminate messes with the combined power of 70X more suction*, multi-surface brush, 20% better edge and corner cleaning with an edge-sweeping brush, to devour dirt and dust bunnies, plus a microfiber mop pad to leave floors shiny.
- SUPER-SMART MAPPING AND NAVIGATION. ClearView LiDAR quickly maps your home to maximize coverage and provide a precise clean while steering smoothly around obstacles and specialized sensors prevent falling down stairs.
- RUGS STAY DRY WHILE MOPPING. Unlike other cleaning robots, the Roomba 105 Combo Robot automatically detects and avoids carpets while mopping so your rugs stay dry – no complex programming required.
- FULLY CUSTOM CLEANING. Choose from settings including vac only, mop only, or combo vac-mop. Schedule and target rooms based on your daily routine and adjust the number of cleaning passes, levels of suction power, and amount of mopping solution pumped onto the microfiber mopping pad.
Tom’s Guide also warns that the dock is large and the price is higher. Measure the intended parking space, including clearance for opening tanks or removing the robot, before choosing it. The high suction figure should not be read as a guarantee of superior carpet pickup because the cited material does not provide a comparable carpet percentage for this model.
Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro: a recent carpet-dry comparison lead
TechRadar’s September 2026 review describes the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro as launching in August 2026 with detachable mop plates intended to keep carpets dry. The review lists regional prices of $799.99, £649.99, and AU$1,199. It also notes that the robot is relatively tall and that intensive mopping can leave the floor wet.
Those details make it worth comparing if furniture clearance and rug protection are your priorities. The cited review does not provide the same debris and stain figures available for the QV 35S, so use it as a design and price comparison rather than a replacement for surface-specific test data.
What to compare beyond suction
Debris type and surface
Ask what you need collected: long hair, fine litter, cereal, seeds, crumbs, or embedded pet hair. A test result is meaningful only with its surface and debris attached. The QV 35S’s 98% flax-seed hardwood result and 60% test-hair low-pile result are not contradictory; they describe different physical problems.
Stain removal and water left behind
For mopping, check whether the source reports dried-stain passes, water left on the floor, and residue after cleaning. Vacuum Wars says its suite includes 14 dried stains and water-left-behind measurements. Tom’s Guide’s QV 35S review adds practical context: mud and dried soy sauce were handled over repeated passes, while oily mayonnaise left residue. A robot may need multiple cycles for a dried spill, and grease can still require manual cleaning.

There are three distinct approaches: sensing carpet and lifting pads, physically removing mop plates, or avoiding wet runs through room or no-mop settings. The QV 35S is documented as lifting its pads after recognizing carpet; the Qrevo 2 Pro is described as using detachable mop plates. Neither mechanism guarantees a dry rug in every transition, so create no-mop zones for especially absorbent or valuable rugs and inspect the first combined run.
Navigation in your actual layout
Navigation matters most in cluttered rooms, narrow gaps, dark furniture zones, and homes where chairs or toys move daily. Tom’s Guide reports occasional navigation trouble for the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. A machine that needs fewer rescues can be more useful than one with a higher headline suction rating, especially when you expect unattended runs.
Dock maintenance, consumables, and floor space
Self-emptying and pad washing reduce daily work but do not make ownership maintenance-free. Before buying, plan for:
- Dust handling: determine whether the dock is bagless or uses disposable dust bags and keep replacement capacity available.
- Water handling: leave enough clearance to remove clean- and dirty-water tanks, and refill or empty them on the schedule shown by the app.
- Pad care: inspect the wash tray and pads for hair, grit, and odor even when the dock washes and dries them.
- Robot care: clear the main brush, side brush, wheels, intake, and sensors; buildup can reduce pickup and navigation accuracy.
- Floor protection: wipe spills around the dock and check that the robot is not parking with a wet pad against a sensitive surface.
The MOVA V70 Ultra Complete is described with a bagless dock and detergent dispensing. The QV 35S dock is described as handling dust emptying, water management, and pad cleaning. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is described with self-cleaning and hot-air drying. These functions save specific tasks; they do not establish identical tank sizes, service intervals, or long-term reliability.

Price and availability decisions
Use price tiers rather than a permanent ranking. Vacuum Wars listed the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete at $999 on sale within a $1,000–$1,300 premium category on October 7, 2026. TechRadar listed the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro at $799.99 in the United States, £649.99 in the United Kingdom, and AU$1,199 in Australia, with an August 2026 launch. Those are dated or regional list-price snapshots; taxes, promotions, stock, and bundles can change.
The cited material does not establish long-term reliability, repairability, warranty quality, country-specific service, or compatible replacement-part SKUs. Confirm the seller, exact model generation, return policy, local support, dust-bag or pad availability, and current price before purchase.
A practical buying process
- Map the surfaces. List the percentage of sealed hard floor, low-pile rug, and high-pile carpet. Mark rugs that must never receive a wet pad.
- List the recurring messes. Separate fine litter, crumbs, long hair, pet hair, dried food, and oily spills. Match each to a reported test instead of relying on suction alone.
- Choose the cleaning priority. Select a debris-focused model for frequent dry pickup, a mopping-focused model for sticky stains, or a balanced option for mixed chores.
- Verify carpet behavior. Look for documented sensing, pad lifting, or mop-plate removal, then plan no-mop zones for rugs that need extra protection.
- Measure the dock location. Account for the dock’s footprint, robot height, tank removal, door clearance, and access to a power outlet.
- Budget for ownership. Include detergent, pads, filters, brushes, dust bags where applicable, and the time needed to clean trays and sensors.
- Run a supervised first cycle. Remove cables and small objects, map one floor, test a rug transition, and check for wet tracks before enabling unattended schedules.
Common failure modes and fixes
Hair remains on rugs
Confirm whether the rug is low- or high-pile, empty the bin, clear the brush, and schedule a second vacuum-only pass. The QV 35S’s 60% low-pile test-hair result and reported high-pile difficulty show why repeated passes may be necessary.
The robot leaves an oily film
Run the mop cycle again only if the floor finish permits it, clean or replace contaminated pads, and manually degrease the spot when needed. Tom’s Guide observed remaining mayonnaise residue on the QV 35S after its mopping test.

Check that carpet detection is enabled, verify the pad-lift or removal setting, add a no-mop zone, and inspect the transition threshold. A lifted pad or detachable plate reduces risk but is not a universal guarantee.
The robot misses rooms or gets stuck
Clear narrow routes, move temporary obstacles, clean navigation sensors, and remap if the layout changed. This is particularly important for the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2, for which Tom’s Guide reports occasional navigation trouble.
The dock smells or stops washing pads
Empty dirty water, rinse the wash tray, remove hair from drains and brushes, check the clean-water level, and allow the drying cycle to finish. If the model uses dust bags, check that the bag is seated and not full.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 when you want a lower-cost combo with strong documented hard-floor pickup, spinning-pad mopping, and automated pad care, and your home can tolerate occasional navigation corrections and extra rug passes.

Plan for weaker hair performance on carpet and manual help with greasy residue.
Choose the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete when premium dock automation, edge cleaning, detergent dispensing, and automatic mop removal justify a roughly $1,000-plus purchase. Choose the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai when mopping is the primary task and you can accommodate its large dock and higher price.
