There is no single developer-certified PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS preset that is best on every PC. The reliable approach is to tune a small group of settings in a fixed order, then keep the combination that makes targets readable and frame delivery consistent on your hardware. Screen scale, view distance, anti-aliasing, upscaling, synchronization and motion blur affect visibility differently; sensitivity must be adjusted for your own hand and mouse.
This guide focuses on PC and identifies console-only options separately. It uses the current PC features documented through Update 43.1 on September 9, 2026, while noting where menus or availability can change with later patches.
What “best” means in PUBG
Set a priority before touching sliders. Visibility means being able to distinguish a player from terrain at the distance where you normally fight. Performance means stable frame delivery, not merely a high peak counter. Aim means controls you can repeat under pressure. A setting that improves one priority can hurt another, so change one variable, test it, and record the result.

| Target readability | Screen scale, anti-aliasing, resolution upscaling, view distance, motion blur | Blurred edges, shimmering, afterimages or distant objects becoming difficult to identify |
| Frame consistency | DirectX renderer, upscaling mode, synchronization and the heavier quality controls | Stutter, sudden drops during fights, or input feeling different when the scene becomes busy |
| Aim repeatability | Mouse sensitivity, scoped sensitivities and key bindings | Overshooting, undershooting, or losing a familiar movement when switching weapons |
Build a baseline before changing anything
- Confirm the platform. The PC graphics menu is not the same as the Xbox Series or PlayStation 5 menu. Do not copy console performance-mode advice into a PC profile.
- Update the game and note the patch. Update 43.1 added newer upscaling options, and later patches can rename, move or remove controls.
- Record your current values. Capture screenshots of Graphics, Controls and key bindings. This gives you a recovery point when a change feels worse.
- Choose a repeatable test. Use the same training-range drill or a short set of matches. Test looking across foliage, buildings and long sightlines, then test close-range tracking.
- Change only one small group at a time. For example, test screen scale and upscaling together, then return to the same drill before changing synchronization.
- Judge the worst moments. A smooth fight in an empty area is less useful than frame consistency while rotating, entering a crowded compound or fighting through effects.
- Keep a written profile. Note the value, the visual result and whether aiming felt more predictable. Keep the profile that performs well in your normal matches, not one that only looks good in a menu.
What settings make enemies easier to see in PUBG?
Screen scale: protect sharpness first
PUBG Support defines screen scale as a control that affects sharpness; setting it too low can make objects appear blurry. Start at the display resolution you actually use, then reduce screen scale only when you need additional rendering headroom. If distant player models lose crisp edges or names become hard to read, restore the previous value before changing unrelated controls.

Screen scale is separate from view distance. A sharp image cannot reveal geometry that the game is not drawing clearly at range, and a long view distance cannot repair a generally blurry image.
Anti-aliasing and resolution upscaling
Update 43.1 added NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1 on PC. PUBG states that “NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR are now supported to deliver better graphics performance and higher visual quality.” The resolution-upscaling controls appear at Settings > Graphics > Advanced only when Anti-Aliasing is set to Medium, High or Ultra. The choices shown depend on your graphics card and the rest of your system, so a missing option is not necessarily an installation error. See the official Update 43.1 notes.
When an upscaler is available, compare its quality choices at the same screen scale and in the same test route. PUBG allows manual quality selection or automatic selection for your screen resolution. Automatic mode is a sensible starting point; manual mode is useful when you prefer a particular balance of detail and frame consistency. Do not assume that the newest mode is best on every GPU or at every output resolution.
View distance: distant clarity versus workload
PUBG Support describes view distance as the setting related to how clearly distant objects appear. Raise it when your fights regularly begin across open terrain and you can afford the additional rendering work. If the change produces inconsistent frames, restore the previous value and spend the performance budget on a stable image instead. The support article is eight years old and serves as terminology guidance; the labels and menu placement in your installed build can differ. Check the current in-game description as well as the PUBG graphics-settings reference.

Motion blur: remove an afterimage you do not want
Motion blur creates an afterimage effect as objects move. That effect can make fast camera turns harder to read, especially when tracking a moving player. Turn it off if the afterimage distracts you, then verify that the change improves your own tracking rather than relying on a blanket rule.
Vertical synchronization: test latency and drops together
Vertical synchronization forces the rendered image to match the display refresh cycle. PUBG Support warns that it can cause frame drops on lower-performance machines. Test it while watching both frame consistency and control response: a synchronized image may look steadier in one setup, while the same option can make another setup feel less responsive or drop frames. Keep the choice that remains stable during a busy fight.
How to get more FPS in PUBG without ruining readability
Try DirectX 11 Enhanced
Update 25.2 introduced DirectX 11 Enhanced as an option “optimized for CPU performance, enhanced to support multi-threading during rendering.” The developer says it may increase FPS in some cases and offers stability similar to DX11, but it does not guarantee a gain on every PC. It was made the default for fresh installations; an older installation may require manual selection in the graphics settings. Change the renderer, restart if the game requests it, and run the same test route before deciding whether it helps. Read the Update 25.2 notes.
Use upscaling only when the result is readable
Upscaling can reduce the work required to produce each frame, but the useful result is the combination of frame consistency and target definition. With Anti-Aliasing at Medium, High or Ultra, compare the DLSS or FSR choices that your system exposes. Look at thin geometry, foliage and distant silhouettes, not just the frame counter. If a quality mode introduces distracting shimmer or softness, move to another quality choice or return to native rendering.

Reduce visual effects in a controlled order
After testing the renderer and upscaler, lower the remaining quality controls one at a time. Start with the options that have the largest visible effect on busy scenes on your PC, and stop when the image becomes harder to parse. Changing every slider at once prevents you from knowing which setting solved a stutter or caused blur. A consistent moderate image is usually more useful in a competitive fight than a high peak FPS number followed by severe drops.
Keep frame delivery consistent
Use the same route and combat drill after every change. Record the lowest-feeling moments, not only the average shown by an overlay. If aim feels different whenever the scene becomes busy, treat that as a performance problem even when the menu reports a high average. Synchronization, upscaling and the renderer should be evaluated together because their trade-offs can interact.
PC profiles to test
These are starting profiles, not tested universal presets. Your final values should come from the repeatable test above.
Recommended Free Tools
| Hardware situation | Starting approach | When to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Lower-performance or CPU-limited PC | Test DirectX 11 Enhanced; keep screen scale high enough to avoid blur; use an available upscaler; remove motion blur; test synchronization for drops; lower other quality controls gradually. | If frames still collapse in crowded scenes, reduce the next-heaviest quality control rather than sacrificing all image sharpness at once. |
| Balanced modern PC | Compare DirectX 11 Enhanced with the current renderer, then test native rendering against the upscaler quality choices available to your GPU. | Keep the combination that delivers readable distant targets and steady fights in your usual maps. |
| High-performance PC | Start with native screen scale and a clear anti-aliasing setting; compare available DLSS or FSR quality modes instead of assuming native is always superior. | Use upscaling if it provides additional consistency without making silhouettes, foliage or edges harder to read. |
How to tune aim and sensitivity
Official PUBG material does not publish a universal mouse-sensitivity or aim preset. Copying a famous player’s numbers can still feel wrong because mouse size, grip, desk space, resolution, field of view and personal control all differ. Treat any imported values as a starting point and make them repeatable for you.

- Set a comfortable general sensitivity. In the training area, make several controlled turns and track a moving target. If you regularly overshoot, reduce the value in a small step; if you cannot complete a turn without lifting the mouse repeatedly, increase it slightly.
- Test unscoped and scoped movement separately. Fire short bursts at a near target, then track a distant target through the sights you use most. Adjust the scoped value only after your general movement feels stable.
- Change one sensitivity at a time. Keep a note of the old and new values. Large simultaneous changes make it impossible to identify which control improved or harmed muscle memory.
- Repeat the drill on another day. A value that feels fast after a short session may become tiring in a long match. Keep the setting that remains controllable when you are under pressure.
- Lock the profile once it is repeatable. Continue practicing rather than changing sensitivity after every difficult fight. Revisit it only when your equipment or display setup changes.
Can you copy another player’s PUBG settings?
Update 42.3 added PC settings sharing for audio, controls, key bindings and gameplay. Imported values can provide a useful starting point, but the code is not a graphics preset: graphics settings are excluded because they depend on the receiving hardware. Unused sharing codes expire after 90 days. Read the Update 42.3 announcement.
After importing, verify every binding and sensitivity in the training area. Keep the controls that fit your hand and equipment, then tune graphics locally. Do not interpret a shared profile as proof that its values are objectively best.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Best PUBG settings for a low-end PC
On a lower-end system, prioritize a stable fight over maximum texture or effect quality. Use this order:
- Select DirectX 11 Enhanced and test it against the renderer you were using. Keep it only if the same route shows better consistency.
- Keep screen scale high enough that player silhouettes and text remain sharp. Lower it in small steps only when the GPU workload requires it.
- Set Anti-Aliasing to a level that exposes the upscaling controls, if your hardware supports them, then compare the available DLSS or FSR quality choices.
- Remove motion blur if the afterimage obscures movement.
- Test vertical synchronization for frame drops and responsiveness instead of assuming one universal answer.
- Lower other quality controls one at a time, checking the same crowded scene after each change.
If the game remains unstable, use the troubleshooting procedure below before buying hardware or blaming one graphics option.

Best PUBG settings for a high-end PC
A faster PC gives you more room to preserve clarity, but it still does not eliminate trade-offs. Begin at native screen scale, choose an anti-aliasing level that keeps edges readable, and compare native rendering with every compatible DLSS or FSR quality mode. Increase view distance only if distant fights are common for you and the frame-time result remains consistent. Motion blur remains a personal readability choice, and synchronization should be judged by the behavior of your display and frame delivery.
Do not use high-end hardware as a reason to skip testing. A driver update, patch change or different display resolution can alter which option is most useful.
A practical test loop for visibility, performance and aim
- Visibility pass: Stand at repeatable long, medium and close distances. Check player silhouettes, foliage edges, building interiors and thin objects while turning the camera.
- Performance pass: Recreate a busy rotation or fight. Watch for hitching, sudden drops and changes in input feel rather than only the maximum FPS.
- Aim pass: Use the same tracking and burst drill with your most-used sights. Keep sensitivity unchanged while evaluating graphics so you do not confuse visual clarity with control changes.
- Decision pass: Keep the setting only when it improves the target priority without introducing a worse problem. Record the final values and a date so you can restore them after a patch.
Fix instability before changing more settings
PUBG Support’s performance guide recommends a basic recovery sequence. Follow it before concluding that a particular graphics option or new component is responsible:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed

- Remove custom launch options.
- Verify the game files through your platform’s file-checking function.
- Update Windows and your graphics drivers.
- Restart the PC and the router.
- Remove overclocks, or return them to manufacturer-recommended settings. The support guide warns that overclocking outside those recommendations can cause problems.
After each recovery step, repeat the same in-game test. The full guidance is in PUBG’s general crashing and performance guide.
PC and console settings are different
Do not apply PC advice to console menus. Update 42.2 documents Resolution Priority and Framerate Priority modes for Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5/5 Pro. Framerate Priority supports up to 120 FPS only when the display supports at least 120 Hz, and availability can depend on the display environment. These are console-specific modes; PC does not automatically receive the same choices. See the Update 42.2 console notes.
On console, select the mode your display supports, then judge clarity and consistency in an actual match. On PC, use the graphics and renderer workflow described above instead of looking for a Resolution Priority or Framerate Priority toggle.
When to stop tuning
Stop when targets remain readable at your usual engagement distances, frame delivery stays predictable in busy fights, and your sensitivity feels repeatable across sessions. Further changes are justified only by a hardware, display or game-version change. A documented personal profile is more valuable than a borrowed list of numbers that was never tested on your system.
