The best starting point for Disney•Pixar Toy Story 3 on PS5 is your television’s normal Game or low-latency picture mode, the PS5’s automatic video output, and only the system accessibility adjustments that solve a specific problem. The PlayStation Store lists the game for PS4 and PS5, released March 14, 2025, as a PSP conversion with up-rendering, rewind, quick save and custom video filters. It does not publish a complete in-game display, audio or accessibility menu, so Zoom, color correction, text size, mono audio, captions and similar controls should be treated as PS5-level aids rather than guaranteed Toy Story 3 features.
What the PS5 version actually provides
The PS5 listing describes Toy Story 3 as the PSP version enhanced for current consoles. The documented additions are up-rendering, rewind, quick save and custom video filters. Those features can improve presentation and convenience, but they do not amount to a modern, fully documented accessibility menu.
The same listing covers PS4 and PS5 and warns that the PS5 may require current system software. It also notes that some PS4 features may be absent. Therefore, configure the console and television first, then test the game rather than assuming that every PS5 accessibility control is implemented by the game itself.

Set up the display before starting the game
1. Put the television in Game mode
Select your television’s ordinary Game, Low Latency, or similarly named picture preset. This normally avoids processing intended for films, such as frame smoothing and heavy sharpening, while keeping controller response predictable. Picture-menu names differ by television manufacturer, so use the mode that your set identifies as its low-latency gaming preset.

Do not start by copying a particular brightness, HDR, contrast or sharpness number. The official listing confirms up-rendering and custom video filters, but it does not specify a universal HDR calibration or brightness value. Room lighting, panel type and viewing distance make a fixed number unreliable.
2. Leave PS5 video output on Automatic initially
Use the PS5’s automatic video-output choice for the first launch. Automatic negotiation allows the console and television to select a mutually supported signal instead of forcing a resolution or dynamic-range mode that the display cannot handle correctly. If the image is stable and readable, there is no need to override it merely because the console offers additional manual choices.
If you see a black screen, intermittent signal or a television warning after changing a manual option, return to automatic output. Change one setting at a time and verify the game after each change; this makes it clear which adjustment caused the problem.

Because this release is converted from PSP software, the PS5 presentation may look cleaner than the original handheld output without becoming a newly authored high-resolution game. The store listing specifically identifies up-rendering and custom video filters. Try the available filter choices with a paused menu or a scene containing small text, then keep the option that gives you the clearest edges without halos or excessive blur.
A filter that looks attractive in a bright scene can make dark outlines or text less distinct elsewhere. Evaluate it in at least one menu and one gameplay scene before settling on it. There is no documented “best” filter for every television.

Use PS5 display accessibility controls for readability
Open Settings > Accessibility > Display and Sound. The documented PS5 controls in this area include Zoom, Color Correction, Text Size, Bold Text, High Contrast and Reduce Motion. Apply the smallest change that fixes your difficulty; stacking every option can make menus look unnatural or can change colors more than you intended.
Zoom
Use Zoom when you need a temporary close view of a small area rather than a permanently altered picture. It is useful for inspecting menu labels or a small item of on-screen information. Because it enlarges a portion of the system image, you may need to move the zoomed view to reach controls at the edge of the screen. It is a console aid, not evidence that the game has scalable interface elements.
Text Size
Increase Text Size if menus or instructions are physically difficult to read from your normal seating position. Change it one step at a time and check both the PS5 interface and the game. System text can respond while game-rendered text may remain at its original size, so do not assume that a larger console label means Toy Story 3 subtitles or menus will also enlarge.
Bold Text and High Contrast
Bold Text can make thin lettering easier to distinguish. High Contrast can separate text and interface elements from their backgrounds when similar tones blend together. These options are most useful when the problem is lettering rather than the whole image. If a menu becomes visually harsh, keep the option that improves recognition and turn off the one that does not.
Color Correction
Enable Color Correction when color differences are the main obstacle, then adjust its intensity gradually. Check colored menu elements, environmental objects and any prompts you must identify during play. Color correction affects the PS5 output globally, so it can improve one distinction while changing another. If the game remains ambiguous after adjustment, rely on shape, position and text cues instead of color alone.

Reduce Motion
Try Reduce Motion if interface animation causes discomfort. It is documented as a PS5 accessibility control, but the available game information does not establish that it removes camera movement, animation or other gameplay motion inside Toy Story 3. Treat it as a supported system-level comfort setting and test the result during actual play.
Configure audio without assuming a game mixer
Select the output device and set a comfortable level
Choose the active television, soundbar or headset in the PS5 sound settings and set its volume to a level you can sustain comfortably. If you change devices, confirm that the console is sending sound to the newly selected output rather than continuing to use a previous headset or HDMI destination.
The official Toy Story 3 listing does not specify a dialogue slider, separate effects control, surround mode or other game-native mix options. Do not hunt for a documented voice-volume setting that may not exist. Make the practical adjustment at the television, receiver, headset or PS5 output instead.
Use Mono Audio for uneven hearing
Mono Audio is a documented PS5 accessibility control. Turn it on when combining left and right channels makes speech or effects easier to hear with one ear, one working headset side or an uneven hearing setup. Test a short gameplay segment with Mono Audio off and on; keep the mode that makes important sounds easiest to locate without forcing the volume higher.
Mono Audio changes channel presentation at the system level. It does not create captions and does not guarantee that every directional audio cue will remain perceptually distinct.

Know what the screen reader can and cannot do
The PS5 screen reader can speak supported on-screen console text and provide spoken guidance through the console interface. That capability is not evidence that Toy Story 3 dialogue, menus or gameplay prompts are screen-reader compatible. Turn it on when navigating PS5 settings is difficult, then test the game separately rather than expecting every game label to be read aloud.
Language availability depends on the console language and the languages supported by the system. If speech is unavailable in a selected language, choose a supported console language before concluding that the screen reader is malfunctioning.
Closed captions: enable them, then verify content support
Open Settings > Accessibility > Closed Captions to configure the PS5 caption feature. Sony describes closed captions as transcribing spoken words and providing text for audio cues when viewing supported content.
That wording matters for this game. The storefront page does not publish a Toy Story 3 accessibility-tag list or confirm game-specific caption support. Enabling the console option is reasonable, but captions will appear only if the content supplies them. If no captions appear in Toy Story 3, that is consistent with the available documentation and does not indicate that your PS5 setting failed.

A practical tuning procedure
- Update the PS5 system if the console requests it, since the store listing warns that current system software may be required.
- Connect the display or audio device you intend to use for the whole session and select it as the active output.
- Set the television to Game or its low-latency equivalent.
- Leave PS5 video output automatic and launch Toy Story 3.
- Compare the available custom video filters in a menu and a gameplay scene. Keep the clearest option, not necessarily the sharpest-looking one.
- Identify the actual problem: text size, color distinction, motion comfort, channel balance, console navigation or caption need.
- Open the relevant PS5 accessibility page and change only that control.
- Return to the same menu or scene and verify the result. If it is worse, undo the last change rather than changing several controls at once.
- Play long enough to confirm comfort. A setting that looks good for one minute may cause eye strain, fatigue or excessive volume over a full session.
Troubleshooting common results
The picture is black, unstable or unexpectedly low quality
- Return PS5 video output to Automatic.
- Confirm that the television is on the HDMI input used by the PS5.
- Disable any manual display override you added and test the game again.
- If the issue appears only after selecting a custom video filter, choose a different filter or the neutral option.
These steps restore a known baseline without claiming that a particular resolution, HDR mode or sharpness value is required by Toy Story 3.

Text remains small after changing Text Size
Check whether the text you are reading belongs to the PS5 interface or is rendered by the game. The documented Text Size control is a system setting; the available game listing does not promise scalable in-game text. Use Bold Text, High Contrast or Zoom for supported system elements, and move closer to the display or adjust the television’s physical viewing setup for fixed game text.
Color Correction makes the image look worse
Reduce its intensity or turn it off and use High Contrast only for interface readability. Color Correction is global, so an adjustment that helps one color pair can make another scene less natural. Verify the change with the same menu and scene each time.
Mono Audio did not make a sound easier to locate
Check that the intended headset, television or soundbar is the active output, then compare Mono Audio at a comfortable volume. Mono Audio is intended to combine channels for audibility; it cannot restore directional separation or compensate for a muted, disconnected or incorrectly selected device.

Confirm that the PS5 feature is enabled in its specified accessibility page and test it in the console interface. If it works there but not in Toy Story 3, the most defensible explanation is content support: the storefront listing does not document game-specific caption or screen-reader compatibility.
What not to assume about this release
- Do not assume that a PS5 listing means the game was rebuilt with a complete native-PS5 accessibility suite; the documented description identifies a PSP conversion with enhancements.
- Do not assume that PS5 Text Size, High Contrast or Color Correction will restyle every game menu.
- Do not assume that enabling Closed Captions will add captions to a title whose content does not provide caption data.
- Do not assume that the screen reader will announce Toy Story 3 prompts or dialogue simply because it reads supported PS5 interface text.
- Do not force a specific HDR, brightness, contrast or sharpness number when the game listing provides none.
- Do not rely on a single picture filter or audio mode without testing it in both menus and gameplay.
Best overall configuration
For most players, use the television’s Game or low-latency preset, keep PS5 video output automatic, and select the clearest custom video filter after comparing it in real gameplay. Add Text Size, Bold Text, High Contrast, Color Correction or Reduce Motion only when that particular issue affects you. For hearing needs, select the correct output device, use Mono Audio when channel combining helps, and enable Closed Captions with the understanding that their appearance depends on content support. Use the PS5 screen reader for console navigation, not as a guarantee of in-game speech.
