As of October 17, 2026, the DualSense is the only PS5 controller with GTA 6 features explicitly confirmed by Sony. The US PlayStation Store listing names vibration and trigger-effect support, while Sony’s announcement describes haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and the controller speaker. GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19, 2026, so every third-party recommendation remains provisional until the game is tested after launch.
The Nacon Revolution 5 Pro and Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded are Sony-listed, officially licensed PS5 partner controllers. Nacon also documents configurable controls and a trigger blocker. Those facts make both legitimate alternatives to investigate, but neither Sony nor the manufacturers have confirmed GTA 6-specific effects or DualSense feature parity.
What is actually confirmed before GTA 6 launches?
The most reliable buying decision starts with separating platform compatibility from game-feature support. A controller can work with PS5 games in general without reproducing every effect a particular game was designed to deliver.

Sony’s US PlayStation Store listing for GTA 6 states: Vibration function and trigger effect supported (DualSense wireless controller). That is the clearest title-specific compatibility statement currently available. It identifies the DualSense as the controller for which vibration and trigger effects are supported; it does not certify every other PS5 controller.

In its June 24 PlayStation Blog announcement, Sony describes GTA 6’s PS5 presentation with haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and the controller speaker. Mary Yee, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sony Interactive Entertainment, wrote that the DualSense would react to the player’s actions and bring the sights, sounds and sensations of Jason and Lucia’s story into the player’s hands. This is Sony’s description of the intended first-party experience, not an independent comparison of competing controllers.
The game has not launched yet. Consequently, there is no official post-launch test showing whether a partner controller receives the same effect signals, whether some effects are reduced, or whether a particular model behaves like an ordinary gamepad. Treat the alternatives below as hardware options with documented PS5 credentials, not as proven GTA 6 upgrades.

Why the DualSense remains the safest GTA 6 choice
It is the only controller tied directly to the game’s listed effects
The DualSense is not merely a compatible input device in the available documentation. It is the model named alongside GTA 6’s vibration and trigger-effect support. Sony’s broader announcement adds haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and the speaker to the intended PS5 experience. If those effects are important to you, the DualSense is the only option with a direct, pre-release confirmation.
What those features mean for a buyer
Haptic feedback and vibration can communicate impacts, road texture or environmental events through the controller. Adaptive triggers can change resistance during an action. The speaker can provide localized audio without requiring a separate explanation on the television. Sony has not published a scene-by-scene feature map for GTA 6, so these descriptions establish the categories of effects, not their strength, frequency or exact gameplay uses.

Nacon’s own product page documents PS5 compatibility, configurable controls and a trigger blocker that adjusts trigger travel. Those are concrete reasons to consider it when your priority is changing the way the controls feel or are mapped.
What the trigger blocker does and does not tell you
A trigger blocker is a physical adjustment for trigger travel. Shorter travel can be useful to someone who prefers a quicker-feeling press, while longer travel can suit someone who wants more movement. The published specification does not establish that either setting is faster, more accurate, more comfortable or superior for driving, shooting or any other GTA 6 activity. It also does not say that the blocker reproduces the DualSense’s adaptive resistance.
Its GTA 6 limitation before release
Neither Sony’s listing nor Nacon’s documentation confirms how GTA 6 will address this controller. There is no published statement that the Revolution 5 Pro receives the game’s haptic signals, adaptive-trigger effects or speaker output. It may still be a valid PS5 controller, but general PS5 compatibility should not be presented as GTA 6 feature parity.
When it makes sense
- Consider it if configurable controls and adjustable trigger travel matter more to you than guaranteed DualSense effects.
- Buy only after confirming that the exact regional package is the PS5 version and that the return policy covers a post-launch compatibility disappointment.
- Plan to test it alongside a DualSense rather than assuming the physical trigger adjustment is an electronic substitute for adaptive triggers.

Sony’s current accessories catalog includes the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded as an officially licensed PS5 partner controller. That listing establishes its relevance as a PS5 accessory and is stronger evidence than a generic claim that a controller works with a console.
What is not confirmed
The available material does not provide a GTA 6 compatibility statement for the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded. It does not confirm vibration behavior, trigger effects, haptic feedback, speaker output or any other title-specific feature. It also does not provide a comparative result against the DualSense. Avoid selecting it on the assumption that an official license automatically grants every effect used by a first-party controller.

How to evaluate it responsibly
Use the model name exactly as printed on the box or retailer listing. Partner families can contain multiple revisions, and a similar name is not proof that two packages have identical console support. Check the current manufacturer documentation and Sony’s accessory listing at the time of purchase, then look for post-launch GTA 6 information before treating the controller as a feature-equivalent replacement.

Sony announced black and white GTA 6-themed limited-edition DualSense controllers on September 3, 2026. The announcement says launch begins on November 19 and that availability and pricing vary by region. These are first-party style options, not a separate technology platform: they are DualSense controllers with game branding.
That distinction matters when comparing them with the Nacon and Victrix models. A limited-edition DualSense changes the exterior design while preserving the reason the standard DualSense is the safest feature choice. A partner controller changes the hardware relationship and may offer different physical or configuration choices, but its GTA 6 effects are not confirmed in the pre-release material.
Before paying a collector premium, confirm the edition, local release timing, retailer allocation and final regional price. Sony’s announcement does not establish worldwide stock or a single global price.
Choose by priority, not by the word licensed
If GTA 6 immersion is the priority
Select a DualSense. It is the only controller directly associated with the Store listing’s vibration and trigger-effect support and Sony’s announcement of haptics, adaptive triggers and speaker features.

If adjustable controls are the priority
Put the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro on the shortlist because Nacon documents configurable controls and a trigger blocker. Keep the decision conditional: those controls are documented hardware features, not evidence of better GTA 6 performance.
If you want a partner controller but have no specific feature requirement
Both the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro and Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded are Sony-listed licensed PS5 options. Compare the exact model documentation, included accessories, configuration approach and local support. The available evidence does not justify ranking one above the other for GTA 6 effects.
If appearance and collecting are the priority
Look at the limited-edition black and white DualSense models. They preserve the first-party controller category while adding GTA 6 styling. Regional availability and price must be checked locally.
PS5 compatibility is not the same as PS5-game compatibility
Sony’s 2020 controller FAQ distinguishes older PS4 gamepads from controllers that can be used with PS5 games. That distinction is important because a controller may connect to a PS5 yet still be intended only for supported PS4 software. Pre-purchase checklist
- Confirm the platform label. Look for explicit PS5 support and PS5-game compatibility for the exact model, not merely a statement that it works with PlayStation hardware.
- Separate confirmed effects from assumptions. The DualSense has the published GTA 6 vibration and trigger-effect statement. The partner models do not have equivalent title-specific confirmation in the available material.
