For a Steel Path Narin build centered on frequent use of her fourth ability, prioritize Ability Strength while keeping enough range, duration, and energy support to build and spend Ice reliably. The loadout below is one published build proposal, not a proven best-in-slot setup: no supplied source provides controlled Steel Path performance results. If you would rather spend most of a mission using weapons, a community-suggested hybrid is a reasonable alternative.
How Narin’s abilities shape a Steel Path build
Digital Extremes introduced Narin in Update 44 as its 66th Warframe. Her kit revolves around Cold effects and an Ice resource: her abilities help build Ice, while her fourth ability, Nurinarim, cannot be cast until the meter is full. Her passive, Sangodae, increases the chance of a pickup for each Cold status stack on enemies. That pickup grants Cold Damage to primary and secondary weapons for 10 seconds, and Narin’s abilities also gain Cold Damage. Digital Extremes’ Update 44 notes describe these mechanics.
What each ability contributes
- Neote: A forward lunge that deals Cold damage and applies Cold and Puncture statuses. Each enemy hit adds Ice.
- Naraemagi: Absorbs nearby Cold status effects to restore Shields. When Shields are full, it grants Overguard, giving the build a defensive tool tied to the same Cold effects used elsewhere in the kit.
- Hakchum: A leap and area landing attack that applies Cold damage vulnerability and Cold status. Each enemy hit adds Ice, so it can help prepare the fourth ability while controlling a group.
- Nurinarim: Requires full Ice. It deals ongoing nearby damage and lets you attack marked targets with slashes that deplete Armor and Shields. Hitting Frozen enemies causes radial Cold damage.
Strength-focused caster setup
Sid Natividad’s September 25, 2026 guide in The Nerd Stash proposes a Strength-oriented build intended to make Nurinarim the centerpiece, while retaining energy capacity and sustain, range, and duration. Its listed setup is:

The guide estimates around five Forma for its fully ranked version. That is the author’s build estimate, not a fixed requirement: lower-ranked mods or substitutions can reduce the investment. It also suggests pairing Archon Stretch with an Electricity damage source or Diriga to support energy regeneration. Treat these as build choices to try, not guarantees of energy uptime or Steel Path performance. Read the published loadout and its rationale.

Ability loop for the caster build
- Use Hakchum when enemies group up. It applies Cold effects and vulnerability while adding Ice for each enemy hit.
- After enemies are frozen or affected by Cold, use Naraemagi to restore Shields and, when Shields are full, gain Overguard.
- Check the Ice meter. If it is not full, use Neote to hit enemies and generate more Ice.
- At full Ice, activate Nurinarim and attack marked targets. Repeat the cycle as needed.
This is the sequence recommended in the guide, not a measured rotation that guarantees a particular clear speed. The guide identifies bosses and nullifiers as potential trouble spots; be ready to rely more on your weapons or adapt when the ability loop is disrupted. The guide’s ability-use advice also presents Hakchum as a control option and Naraemagi as a way to maintain Overguard.
When a weapon-forward hybrid makes more sense
A community post dated October 6, 2026, describes a “simple comfort all-rounder” approach: use guns and melee as the main damage source, keep Hakchum’s control and debuff utility, use Overguard for defense, and treat Nurinarim as a short burst before turning it off to preserve the meter. The player describes replacing Neote with Nourish and using Diriga with Arc Coil to support Archon Stretch; Tazicor with Cold support is also mentioned. These are that player’s preferences, not official recommendations or independently verified upgrades. See the community build discussion.

| Decision | Strength-focused caster | Weapon-forward hybrid |
|---|---|---|
| Main damage emphasis | Frequent ability use, especially Nurinarim | Weapons and melee, with Nurinarim as an occasional burst |
| Fourth-ability use | Cast when Ice is full and use its marked-target attacks | Use briefly, then deactivate early to preserve meter, as suggested by the community poster |
| Build priorities | Strength alongside energy support, range, and duration | Comfortable weapon use, utility, and the player’s chosen energy-support setup |
| Evidence | One third-party editorial loadout; no controlled results supplied | One player’s community advice; no comparative testing supplied |
Choose the caster if your goal is to make the fourth ability a frequent part of your damage loop and you are willing to invest in its mod setup. Choose the hybrid if you prefer to fight mainly with weapons and use Narin’s abilities for control, defense, and occasional bursts. Neither source establishes which approach performs better across Steel Path mission types.
Steel Path context, acquisition, and limits
Warframe Studio’s general progression guide describes Steel Path as level 100–300 content and advises using a few fully leveled, synergistic mods rather than filling every slot with unfocused stats. That is general progression guidance, not testing of either Narin setup. Read the progression guide.

Digital Extremes lists Narin’s main and component blueprints in Zariman drop tables. Cephalon Melica also offers blueprints in exchange for Entropic Kuva earned from Entropic Eximus in Zariman missions; direct Market purchase is another listed route. The update names Nunchasa and Aksondol as her signature weapons. Check the official Update 44 notes for the frame’s mechanics and acquisition details.
Update 44 establishes how Narin’s kit works, but it does not endorse a build. The caster setup is a single guide author’s recommendation, and the hybrid is an individual player’s advice; neither comes with quantified Steel Path outcomes. As a frame introduced in September 2026, Narin’s recommended builds may also change with future balance updates and further play.
