Installing a pack through a launcher

Safe rollout procedure
- Install the exact same release on a test server and one client.
- Join with a new test world and confirm that blocks, entities, recipes, and quests load normally.
- Stop the server and copy the world and configuration directories before inviting the full group.
- Freeze the mod list for the session. Record any change and back up again before updating.
Building your own medieval pack from individual mods
A custom collection can be the right answer when neither verified pack matches your version or preferred balance. The trade-off is that you become responsible for compatibility, configuration, and updates.

Rules for a stable custom pack
- Start with one Minecraft version and one loader; do not mix Forge and Fabric mods.
- Add a small group of mods at a time and launch after each group.
- Keep a written list of file names and versions so you can remove the last change after a crash.
- Generate a test world before opening an established save with newly added world-generation mods.
- Export or back up the profile after every stable milestone.

The launcher says the pack is incompatible
Reopen the file entry and compare all three identifiers: Minecraft version, loader, and file release. A world will not open after an update
