The best all-round starting point for Loewe leo is a neutral or lightly customized EQ, ANC adjusted to the room, Spatial Audio compared directly with stereo, and Low Latency Audio enabled whenever picture and sound must stay synchronized. For sports, prioritize clear commentary and use more Transparency when you need to hear people around you. For gaming, use Low Latency Audio, keep the EQ restrained enough to separate effects from dialogue, and switch to the included USB-C/3.5 mm cable if Bluetooth delay or pairing problems remain.
Loewe publishes the controls but not genre-specific numeric EQ curves or an independently measured latency figure. The settings below therefore separate documented functions from practical listening starting points, so you can tune the leo without treating a personal preference as a universal calibration.
Recommended starting settings at a glance
| Use case | EQ starting point | Ambience Mode | Spatial presentation | Low Latency Audio | Connection advice |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Movies and television | Neutral or a movie-oriented preset; make small custom changes only when needed | ANC in a noisy room; a neutral ANC/Transparency balance in a quiet room | Compare Spatial Audio with stereo for each soundtrack | On when dialogue and picture do not align | Bluetooth for convenience; use the included cable if synchronization or pairing is unreliable |
| Live sports | Clear, speech-forward custom EQ | More ANC for household or travel noise; more Transparency when you need awareness | Use whichever mode keeps commentary easiest to follow | Usually optional unless the broadcast has a noticeable delay | Keep the television or streaming device as the active connection |
| Gaming | Custom EQ that separates effects and dialogue without excessive bass | ANC for isolation; Transparency when you must hear the room | Test Spatial Audio and stereo for positional cues | On before you start playing | Disable unnecessary device switching; use the supplied analog cable if Bluetooth remains delayed |
These are starting points, not official Loewe presets. The leo app supplies predefined and personal EQ options, but Loewe does not publish a numeric movie, sports or gaming curve.

What each Loewe leo control changes
Equalizer
The Equalizer section in the Loewe leo app provides predefined choices and personal settings. A preset is useful when you want a quick change, while a custom setting is better when a particular room, soundtrack or hearing preference makes the default sound too warm, thin or sharp.

Make one small change at a time and listen to the same passage again. For films, excessive bass can mask speech and make explosions tiring; excessive treble can make dialogue consonants and effects sound hard. For sport, speech intelligibility matters more than cinematic impact. For games, a large bass boost can blur quiet positional details beneath louder effects. Because no official frequency-response chart or numeric genre target is published, judge the result with familiar content rather than copying values from another headphone.
Ambience Mode: ANC and Transparency
Ambience Mode controls the balance between active noise cancellation and Transparency. ANC reduces outside sound; Transparency deliberately lets ambient sound through. Loewe’s current FAQ says this balance can be moved in 25% steps, with up to four steps in either direction from the neutral position.
Use ANC when a fan, engine, air conditioner or nearby conversation is masking the programme. Use Transparency when someone may speak to you, when you need to hear a doorbell or announcement, or when wearing the headphones in a situation where environmental awareness matters. A neutral balance is often the least processed choice in a quiet room.

Spatial Audio creates an immersive virtual three-dimensional presentation. Stereo is the conventional left-right reference. Neither is automatically better: a carefully mixed film may sound expansive in Spatial Audio, while a stereo mix, commentary track or game cue can remain clearer and more stable in classic stereo.
Switch modes while replaying the same scene or passage. Listen for three things: whether voices stay centred, whether front-to-back effects become easier to place, and whether music develops an artificial echo. Keep the mode that improves the information you need, not simply the one that sounds widest for the first few seconds.

Low Latency Audio
Loewe describes Low Latency Audio as “Perfectly synced sound in games and movies” in its September 2025 data sheet. Turn it on when a character’s lips move before the words arrive, when a game action sounds late, or when a rhythm-based title feels out of time. Loewe does not publish an independent latency measurement, so this feature should be treated as a synchronization aid rather than a guarantee of a particular millisecond result on every source device.
Multipoint
Multipoint allows the leo to remain connected to more than one device. That is useful when you want to move between a phone and a computer, but automatic switching can interrupt a film or game if another device starts playing audio. For a long viewing or gaming session, make the entertainment device the active source and pause notifications or media on the other connected device.

- Charge the headphones and switch them on. Pair Loewe leo with the playback device over Bluetooth using that device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Open the Loewe leo app and select the connected headphones. The available controls include Equalizer, Ambience Mode, Spatial Audio, Multipoint, Low Latency Audio and Personal Sound.
- Start with the Equalizer set to neutral, or choose a supplied preset that is close to the content you are about to hear. Do not change several tonal controls at once.
- Open Ambience Mode and move between ANC, Transparency and the neutral balance while the room is making its normal noise. This establishes whether a problem is caused by the mix or by outside sound masking it.
- Play a familiar clip, then compare Spatial Audio with stereo. Keep the comparison level matched; a louder mode can seem better even when it is only louder.
- Enable Low Latency Audio before testing a film or game in which timing matters. If the option is unavailable, confirm that the headphones are connected in the app and that the app and firmware are current.
- If you use Multipoint, connect the second device only after the main source is working. During testing, stop audio on the second device so an unexpected hand-off does not look like a latency or EQ fault.
Best settings for movies and television
Start with dialogue, not spectacle
Select a neutral or movie-oriented EQ preset if one suits the soundtrack. If voices are recessed, create a personal setting with a modest speech emphasis rather than a large bass cut or treble boost. The goal is to hear consonants at a comfortable volume while preserving the score and low-frequency effects.
Different programmes need different treatment. A dialogue-heavy drama may benefit from the neutral setting, while an action film can tolerate a little more low-end weight if explosions do not cover speech. Animated films and heavily scored productions are good tests of whether a custom setting adds detail or simply makes the presentation brighter.
Fix picture-to-sound mismatch
Enable Low Latency Audio when lip movements and dialogue are visibly out of step. After enabling it, stop and restart playback so the source and headphones renegotiate the connection. If the delay remains, disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth, close other audio apps, and test the same scene with the included cable. A delay that occurs only in one streaming app may be caused by that app or television rather than the headphones.

Choose Spatial Audio deliberately
Use Spatial Audio for a larger, more enveloping presentation when it keeps the centre dialogue anchored. Use stereo when a soundtrack becomes hollow, when voices wander from the centre, or when a conventional mix sounds more natural. Some programmes already contain strong surround processing; adding another virtual layer can reduce clarity, so make the decision per soundtrack rather than leaving one mode permanently enabled.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSet isolation for the room
In a noisy living room, train carriage or aircraft cabin, move Ambience Mode toward ANC until the noise no longer competes with quiet dialogue. In a silent room, reduce the amount of processing toward the neutral balance if ANC changes the perceived tone or creates pressure sensations. When another person may speak to you, move toward Transparency instead of raising the playback volume.
Best settings for live sports
Make commentary intelligible
Begin with a clear, speech-forward custom EQ. Keep bass controlled enough that crowd noise and music do not cover the commentator, and avoid so much treble that sibilants become distracting. This is a practical listening recommendation, not a Loewe-published sports preset.
Match ANC or Transparency to the viewing situation
For a television in a busy home, increase ANC in the app until commentary is distinct from room noise. For travel or a public viewing area, ANC can reduce engines and chatter, but switch toward Transparency when you need announcements or conversation. The app’s 25% adjustment increments make it easier to return to a repeatable position than a continuously drifting manual setting.
Compare spatial modes with the announcer’s voice
Spatial Audio can make the stadium atmosphere feel broader, but the useful test is whether the main voice remains easy to follow. Compare it with stereo during a commentary-heavy passage. If crowd ambience expands while the announcer becomes diffuse, use stereo; if the voice remains centred and the extra space helps you distinguish field sounds, keep Spatial Audio.

Handle broadcast delay separately
Low Latency Audio is intended for synchronized sound in games and movies, but a live broadcast can also have delay introduced by the television, streaming service or set-top box. Enable the feature if the leo itself is behind the picture, then compare another source. If every headset behaves the same way, adjust the television or broadcaster’s audio delay control rather than repeatedly changing the EQ.
Best settings for gaming
Prioritize timing first
Turn on Low Latency Audio before launching the game. Test a repeatable action such as a menu click, weapon sound or jump landing. Loewe documents the feature for synchronized game sound, but there is no published competitive-gaming latency test, so do not assume it meets a specific tournament or esports threshold.
Keep effects and dialogue separate
Use a restrained custom EQ. If explosions overpower voices, reduce the amount of low-end emphasis; if footsteps or quiet environmental cues disappear, return toward neutral before trying to add treble. Judge changes at the volume you normally play, because a setting that reveals detail at a loud test level may become fatiguing over a long session.
Test Spatial Audio against stereo
For a single-player adventure, Spatial Audio may provide a more enveloping scene. For competitive play, compare it directly with stereo using known cues from behind, beside and in front of the character. Choose the mode in which you can identify direction consistently, not the mode that merely sounds more dramatic. Game engines, mixes and console processing differ, so one universal winner is not supported.
Stabilize the connection
Multipoint is convenient when you must answer a call, but an active phone connection can cause unwanted source changes or interruptions. Before a match, pause media on other paired devices and leave the gaming source active. If Bluetooth delay persists, or if the gaming device cannot pair reliably, connect the supplied USB-C/3.5 mm cable to a compatible analog output. Wired operation removes the Bluetooth radio link from the signal path, although the game’s own audio processing can still add delay.

How to stop Bluetooth lip-sync delay
- Confirm that the delay is real by watching a familiar clip with a clear mouth movement and a sharp sound, such as a hand clap.
- In the Loewe leo app, enable Low Latency Audio. Stop playback and start it again after the setting changes.
- Disconnect the leo from Bluetooth, restart the headphones and playback device, then pair them again. Keep the headphones connected to the intended source while testing.
- Temporarily disable Multipoint and pause audio on nearby connected devices. Automatic source switching can be mistaken for unstable latency.
- Test a second app or video source. If only one app is delayed, use that app’s audio-delay control or contact its support rather than altering the EQ.
- For a television or console that still lags, try the included USB-C/3.5 mm cable if the device has a compatible analog output.
- If wired playback is also out of sync, the source device, television processing or game engine is the more likely cause. Adjust its audio-sync setting when available.
When to choose Spatial Audio, stereo, ANC or Transparency
| Priority | Preferred first test | Why | Switch away when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clear film dialogue | Stereo with neutral EQ | Provides a stable centre reference | The soundtrack sounds narrow and Spatial Audio keeps voices centred |
| Immersive film effects | Spatial Audio with neutral EQ | Adds a wider virtual presentation | Voices become hollow or effects lose precise placement |
| Sports commentary in a noisy room | Speech-forward EQ with more ANC | Reduces masking from household or travel noise | You need to hear a person, announcement or safety cue |
| Sports commentary in a quiet room | Speech-forward EQ near the neutral ambience balance | Avoids unnecessary processing | Ambient noise starts covering the announcer |
| Competitive game positioning | Low Latency Audio, then stereo versus Spatial Audio | Timing and repeatable directional cues matter most | The selected mode blurs front, rear or side cues |
| Gaming in a shared room | Low Latency Audio with Transparency as needed | Maintains timing while preserving awareness | Room noise masks quiet game details |
Bluetooth versus the included cable
Bluetooth is the convenient choice for phones, tablets and televisions that support the leo. The included USB-C/3.5 mm cable provides an analog option for compatible sources when pairing fails, a television adds delay, or a game device handles wired audio more reliably.
Use the same programme and volume when comparing connections. Bluetooth may apply source-side processing, while an analog connection may use the television, console or computer’s own digital-to-analog path. A change in tonal balance between the two does not prove that one EQ is objectively correct; it means the signal chain has changed.
Battery, charging and long sessions
Loewe’s current official FAQ states that leo offers up to 65 hours of battery life with ANC turned off. That is a maximum published figure, not a guaranteed runtime for every volume level, codec, ambience setting or connection pattern. ANC and other processing can reduce the time available in normal use.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
The same FAQ says charging with a USB-C cable typically takes two hours, with the exact time depending on the power adapter. Charge before a long flight, match or film marathon rather than waiting for the battery warning during playback.
Maintenance and replaceable parts
Loewe says the ear cushions and headband are fully replaceable. Replace them only with parts confirmed for the exact leo model, because the reviewed support information does not identify a universal part number, merchant or price. Keep the cushions dry, avoid blocking microphones, and store the headphones without sharply folding the cable or stressing the connectors.
A practical repeatable profile
Once you find settings that work, save a short personal routine rather than chasing a perfect profile for every title:
- Movies: neutral EQ, the ambience balance appropriate to the room, and Low Latency Audio whenever synchronization is questionable.
- Sports: speech-forward EQ, enough ANC to defeat masking noise, and Transparency when conversation or announcements matter.
- Gaming: restrained custom EQ, Low Latency Audio on, Multipoint minimized during play, and a wired fallback ready for troublesome Bluetooth sources.
- Spatial presentation: decide with a matched stereo comparison for the specific soundtrack or game.
Recheck the profile after an app or firmware update. Feature names, available presets and regional support can change, so the controls shown in the current Loewe leo app and support pages should take precedence over an older saved instruction.
