Best fit by grip: choose the Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini for fingertip or aggressive claw, the Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Medium for a roomier claw/fingertip fit, the Pulsar Xlite V4 Medium for palm, the Pulsar X3 for relaxed claw or palm-claw, and the Endgame Gear OP1 8k when you want a wired claw specialist. The lightweight DeathAdder line is a mainstream right-handed palm/claw alternative.

Shape and hand size matter more than the lowest number on a scale. The weights and grip descriptions below are manufacturer listings, so confirm the exact regional model, dimensions, firmware and current price before ordering.

Quick comparison

Mouse Best use Listed weight Shape and connection Notable specifications Important qualification
Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini Fingertip or aggressive claw 36 g (Pulsar Gaming Gears, 2026 page accessed 2026) Low-profile, wide, symmetrical wireless shell Designed around finger-led control Pulsar targets claw and fingertip users; PC Gamer’s independent check found the Mini comfortable for relaxed claw but unsuitable for fingertip grip.
Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Medium Medium claw or fingertip 39 g with dot skates or 41 g with regular skates (Pulsar, 2026 page accessed 2026) Larger symmetrical wireless shell More hand contact than the Mini The skate option changes the listed weight, so compare like-for-like configurations.
Pulsar Xlite V4 Medium Palm 54 g (Pulsar, 2026 page accessed 2026) Right-handed ergonomic wireless shell 32,000 DPI sensor, 750 IPS, 50 g acceleration, up to 8K polling Pulsar positions the medium size for medium-to-large hands and says it also supports claw and fingertip styles.
Pulsar X3 Relaxed claw or palm-claw 55 g (Pulsar, 2026 page accessed 2026) Raised rear ergonomic PalmClaw (RelaxClaw) shell; wireless listing Rear hump supports a resting palm The raised support is less suitable for a pure fingertip grip.
Endgame Gear OP1 8k Wired claw 50.5 g (Endgame Gear product page, 2025/2026) Symmetrical wired shell Claw-focused design inspired by the XM shape The cable removes charging and battery concerns but is a deliberate wired trade-off.
Razer DeathAdder lightweight line Right-handed palm or claw 55 g ultra-lightweight wireless listing (Razer, 2026 page) Right-handed ergonomic wireless shell Mainstream DeathAdder control layout The cited page represents a product line; verify the exact DeathAdder model and regional specification.

Manufacturer descriptions are not a universal ranking. No authoritative market-share or universally accepted “best” list establishes one winner for every hand. Treat the table as a grip-based shortlist, then check fit and availability for your region.

Why grip and hand size come before weight

Your grip describes where your hand contacts the shell and which joints make most of the corrections. In a fingertip grip, only the fingertips touch the mouse and the palm floats; an aggressive claw bends the fingers sharply while the rear of the palm may barely touch. A relaxed claw lets more of the palm contact the rear hump. Palm grip keeps most of the hand on the shell, while a palm-claw hybrid combines that support with curled fingers.

Two mice with the same mass can feel entirely different because of hump position, width, flare and button length. A very low shell can give fingertip users room to steer with the fingers, but may leave a palm user without support. A tall rear hump can stabilize a relaxed claw while forcing a fingertip user to lift the palm. Right-handed ergonomic shells can reduce wrist rotation for some users but remove the option of switching hands or using a symmetric hold.

Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the wrist crease and across the widest part of your palm. Use those measurements with each manufacturer’s current dimensions; the pages summarized here do not establish a single universal hand-size cutoff. If your fingers overhang the front, the shell is too short or your grip is too far forward. If your palm is pushed upward and your fingers cannot bend naturally, the hump is too tall or too far back.

Best choices by grip

Fingertip or aggressive claw: Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini

The X2 CrazyLight Mini is the most direct match when minimum mass and finger-led steering are your priorities. Pulsar describes it as “optimized for Claw and fingertip grip players, offering precision and agility.” Its low-profile, wide symmetrical shell avoids a pronounced ergonomic bias, so either hand can make small lateral corrections without a fixed palm channel.

That profile favors users whose palm stays clear of the rear shell or touches only lightly. It can also suit an aggressive claw in which the fingers do most of the aiming and the wrist remains relatively still. The trade-off is support: a large hand or a relaxed palm may feel cramped on a Mini shell, and a user who wants a pronounced rear anchor should look at the X2 CrazyLight Medium or X3 instead.

There is conflicting evidence about the fingertip label. PC Gamer’s independent check reported that the Mini was comfortable for relaxed claw but unsuitable for fingertip grip. That does not invalidate Pulsar’s design intent; it shows why you should test the contact points with your own hand rather than assuming a manufacturer grip category guarantees a fit.

Medium claw or fingertip: Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Medium

The Medium keeps the same symmetrical, claw/fingertip-oriented concept while adding shell contact for users who find the Mini too small. It is a sensible middle choice for medium hands, or for claw users who want the rear of the palm to touch without moving all the way to a tall ergonomic hump.

Its listing gives two masses depending on the installed skates: dot skates are listed at 39 g and regular skates at 41 g. Consider the skate configuration part of the specification. Dot skates may alter how freely the mouse starts and stops, while the regular configuration may provide a different balance of contact; do not compare a dot-skate Medium directly with another mouse without noting the setup.

The Medium is less specialized than the Mini for extremely small hands and less supportive than the Xlite or X3 for a full-palm hold. It is the better X2 choice when your fingers need a little more length or your palm brushes the shell during longer sessions.

Palm: Pulsar Xlite V4 Medium

The Xlite V4 Medium is the palm-first recommendation for a medium-to-large right hand. Its right-handed ergonomic shape gives the palm a defined side and rear contour, allowing the hand to rest rather than hover. Pulsar says the form works best with palm grip while still supporting claw and fingertip styles.

The listing specifies a 32,000 DPI sensor, 750 IPS tracking speed, 50 g acceleration and polling up to 8K. Those figures describe sensor and firmware capability, not a promise that every game or computer will benefit from the maximum setting. Most players should choose sensitivity by control and comfort, then treat the high-DPI range as headroom rather than a target.

Choose the Xlite V4 Medium when a symmetric shell makes your wrist or ring finger work too hard, or when the rear of your hand needs a stable platform. Avoid it if you deliberately use a pure fingertip grip, need a left-handed shell, or frequently reposition with the palm completely off the mouse.

Relaxed claw or palm-claw: Pulsar X3

The X3 occupies the space between a traditional palm mouse and a claw shell. Pulsar calls the design a “hybrid ergonomic design that combines the best of palm grip and claw grip into a PalmClaw(RelaxClaw) shape.” The raised ergonomic support is intended for a palm that rests on the rear hump while the fingers remain arched.

This shape is useful when a flat symmetrical mouse causes fatigue but a full palm shell feels restrictive. It gives relaxed-claw users a rear anchor without requiring the entire hand to lie flat. It is not the right starting point for pure fingertip players because the same raised support that stabilizes the palm can interfere with a floating hand.

Wired claw: Endgame Gear OP1 8k

The OP1 8k is for claw users who prefer a cable and do not want to manage wireless charging. Endgame Gear describes it as drawing inspiration from the XM shape while emphasizing claw grips. Its symmetrical outline keeps the side-to-side feel predictable, while the wired connection is a deliberate choice for consistent power and low-latency operation.

A cable can be an advantage in tournaments, fixed desk setups or long sessions where charging interruptions are unacceptable. It can also add drag if it is routed poorly. Use a flexible bungee or keep the cable’s first section lifted so the wire does not pull against low-sensitivity movements. The OP1 8k is less appropriate if your desk layout makes a cable catch on the monitor stand or if you switch between devices from a couch.

Mainstream ergonomic alternative: the lightweight DeathAdder line

Razer describes a 55 g ultra-lightweight wireless mouse in its DeathAdder line for right-handed palm and claw use. The familiar ergonomic outline can be easier to adapt to than a very low symmetrical shell, especially for players who want a defined thumb side and broad palm support.

Because the cited page represents a product line rather than one unambiguously identified model, check the exact DeathAdder name, generation, dimensions, sensor, polling option, battery specification and regional contents before purchasing. Do not assume every lightweight DeathAdder carries the same electronics or shape.

How to compare the shortlisted mice

Start with shell geometry

Look at hump location before reading DPI. A rear hump supports relaxed claw and palm; a central or low hump leaves more room for fingertip articulation. Width at the rear matters for how far your thumb and ring finger spread. Front flare affects whether your fingertips can rest on the primary buttons without sliding outward. Symmetry allows a more neutral hold, while right-handed ergonomics can provide stronger support but limit hand-switching.

Match the shell to your hand

Short hands often benefit from a shorter shell and reachable side buttons; long hands may need the Medium version of a shape to prevent finger overhang. A wide palm can feel pinched by a narrow symmetrical body even when the length is correct. Conversely, a very wide shell can force the thumb outward and make micro-corrections tiring. Compare manufacturer dimensions for the exact SKU, not a family name.

Decide whether wireless is worth it

Wireless removes cable drag and makes low-sensitivity sweeps easier, but it introduces charging, battery aging and a receiver to place. Wired models avoid those tasks and can be ideal for a permanent desk. Neither connection type automatically determines aiming quality; a comfortable shell that stays under control matters more than the marketing label.

Interpret sensor and polling specifications

DPI is a sensitivity scale, not a measure of accuracy by itself. Pick a setting that lets you make controlled corrections at your game’s sensitivity. Higher polling rates send more frequent position reports, but the computer, game engine and display must process them. An 8K mode can increase system work and may offer little visible benefit on a lower-refresh display or an older CPU. Start with a stable polling setting, then raise it only if your system remains smooth and the game supports it well.

Check buttons and surface contact

Count the side buttons you actually use and verify their position relative to your thumb. A button that is easy to reach with a palm grip may be accidentally pressed in fingertip grip. Examine the primary-button length and the gap between the buttons; a long index finger may prefer a farther-forward contact point. Skates and the mousepad also change starting friction and stopping control, so compare mice on the surface you normally play on.

A purchase and setup checklist

  1. Identify your natural grip. Hold a neutral mouse without forcing your fingers flat or curled. Note whether your palm rests, floats, or touches only the rear hump.
  2. Measure your hand. Record length and width, then compare them with the current dimensions for the exact model and size. The available listings identify intended hand ranges for some shapes but do not provide a universal sizing chart.
  3. Choose geometry before mass. Eliminate shells that force finger overhang, pinch the thumb or leave the palm unsupported, even if their listed weight is lower.
  4. Choose connection type. Select wireless for an unobstructed desk and accept charging; select wired for uninterrupted power and no battery management.
  5. Verify the exact SKU. Check generation, skate package, sensor, polling capability, firmware support, included receiver and regional availability. This is especially important for the DeathAdder line and for the two X2 Medium skate configurations.
  6. Set a conservative starting configuration. Use a polling rate your system handles consistently and a sensitivity that permits a full target-tracking movement without gripping the shell tightly.
  7. Test in all three grips. GamesRadar describes its evaluation method as testing each mouse in-game across fingertip, claw and palm while assessing ergonomic shape, weight, click feel and button placement. Recreate that logic yourself: play short sessions in your intended grip, then deliberately try the other two to expose pressure points.
  8. Recheck after a longer session. Early excitement can hide thumb pressure or palm fatigue. Stop if you develop pain; a lighter mouse is not a substitute for a neutral posture or sensible breaks.

Common mismatches and fixes

The mouse feels fast but uncontrollable

Very low mass reduces the effort required to start movement, but it can also make overshooting easier if your sensitivity is high. Lower sensitivity slightly, use a larger pad, or choose a shell with more palm contact. Do not solve every control problem by adding grip force; that defeats the ergonomic benefit of a light mouse.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Your fingers hit the front edge

The shell may be too short for your hand or your grip may be too far forward. Move the mouse back into the palm, compare the X2 Medium with the Mini, or choose an ergonomic model with a longer contact area. Check that your ring finger is not being forced under the shell’s right edge.

Your palm feels unsupported

A low symmetrical shell is designed to leave room for finger-led control. If you naturally rest the rear of your hand, move toward the X3 or Xlite V4 Medium. A rear hump should support the hand without forcing the wrist upward; if it does, the shape is too tall or too far back.

The cable tugs during broad movements

Route the cable straight toward the monitor, lift its first section with a bungee, and leave enough slack for a full swipe. If the desk still catches the wire, a wireless model may be the more practical choice even if the wired mouse is lighter or simpler.

High polling causes stutter or extra load

Return to a lower stable polling setting, update the mouse firmware and check whether the game or operating system is handling the report rate correctly. Use the maximum mode only when the whole setup remains smooth; a nominal 8K capability is not a requirement for accurate play.

Stop and verify the regional SKU, revision and included accessories. Weight can change with skates, and product-family pages can combine several generations. Keep a record of the model number and firmware version before changing settings or making a return.

Which one should you buy?

Choose the X2 CrazyLight Mini when your hand stays mostly on the fingers and you want the smallest, lowest-profile option. Choose the X2 CrazyLight Medium when you want that symmetrical concept with more contact area. Choose the Xlite V4 Medium for a medium-to-large right hand that rests on the mouse in palm grip. Choose the X3 when you alternate between palm and relaxed claw and want a raised rear support. Choose the OP1 8k when a wired, claw-focused shell suits your desk and charging-free routine. Consider the lightweight DeathAdder line when you prefer a familiar right-handed ergonomic design, but identify the exact model before comparing specifications.

These choices are starting points, not guarantees. Shape, hand dimensions, grip pressure and your actual desk setup determine control more reliably than a headline weight, DPI number or polling-rate figure.
