There is no verified “best Klinger mods” list for ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE). Klinger’s catalog is primarily for ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA). The apparent ASE greenhouse port is marked incompatible with ASE and shown as removed from Steam, while Klinger Additional Optimized Structures is old enough that its current compatibility is unverified. Treat Klinger packs as ASA-only unless you have personally confirmed an ASE build on your exact server branch.
What the evidence supports
Klinger mods are split across two ARK ecosystems that do not share mod compatibility. CurseForge listings carrying Klinger’s name appear under the Ark Survival Ascended path, and Beacon’s spawn-code listing for Klinger Additional Rustic Building is also under ArkSA. Those listings should not be interpreted as ASE support.
For an ASE server, only two Klinger-named Workshop entries surfaced in the available records. One is explicitly unusable; the other requires a live compatibility test before it can be recommended.

Klinger Additional Rustic Greenhouse Evolved: why it is not a safe ASE choice
This entry was described as an ASE port of Klinger’s Ascended work. Its intended content includes rustic wooden foundations, a soil-topped foundation variant, walls, roofs and greenhouse doors, with dimensions reworked for Evolved structures. The description also indicated that the creator was still evaluating whether more Ascended content could be brought to Evolved.

That description is superseded for practical server selection by the listing status. The Workshop page carries an incompatibility notice for ARK: Survival Evolved, and the item is displayed as removed for a Steam Community and Content Guidelines violation. The removal notice is visible only to the uploader. A removed, explicitly incompatible item cannot be treated as a functioning server mod, even if an old description or cached search result still appears.
What this means for an existing server
- Do not add Workshop ID
3498900842toActiveMods=. - Do not distribute old copies to players as if they were supported.
- If the ID is already in a server configuration, remove it, restart, and check that the server reaches the normal listening state.
- Before removing any structure mod, make a world backup. Structures placed by a removed mod can become unavailable or behave unpredictably after a restart.
Klinger Additional Optimized Structures: the only ASE candidate that merits testing
Klinger Additional Optimized Structures is described as a performance-oriented stone-structure pack for large PvE cities and PvP bases. That focus makes it conceptually relevant to administrators who need a broad building set without selecting a decorative greenhouse port that is already marked incompatible.

The available record identifies it as posted long ago but does not establish that it loads on the current ASE branch, that its structures still replicate correctly, or that it is maintained. “Optimized” is part of the mod’s positioning; it is not evidence of a current benchmark or a guarantee that a large build will perform well on your hardware.

Use a compatibility gate before production
- Create a separate test server running the same ASE branch, map and server-side configuration as production.
- Install only Workshop ID
2793077888first. Do not combine it with several structure packs during the initial test. - Start the server and inspect the startup output for a successful mod load, missing files, version errors or a crash during world initialization.
- Join with a test character and place every major class of asset you intend to use: foundations, walls, ceilings or roofs, doors and any variant that matters to your build plan.
- Leave and rejoin, then restart the server. Confirm that placed pieces remain, inventories are intact and the character can interact with doors and storage.
- Test a large representative footprint rather than a single foundation. The mod is aimed at cities and large bases, so replication and save behavior must be checked under the use case you actually expect.
- Only after a clean restart cycle and a verified backup should you schedule a production deployment.
Stop conditions
- The server crashes while loading the mod or hangs during world initialization.
- Clients are prompted for a mod they cannot download, or they receive a version-mismatch error.
- Structures disappear after a restart, render incorrectly, cannot be demolished, or prevent the character from loading into the world.
- Logs show repeated asset, blueprint or serialization errors.
If any stop condition occurs, remove the mod from the test configuration, restore the pre-test save and do not migrate the build to production. The available evidence does not establish a maintained fix for these failures.
ASA Klinger packs: useful only on Ascended servers
Klinger Additional Rustic Building and Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse are listed under Ark Survival Ascended. Search summaries describe the Ascended Klinger packs as incompatible with Evolved. They may be appropriate subjects for an ASA administrator, but they do not solve an ASE server’s building or cosmetic requirements.
How to avoid mixing game editions
- Check the game path on the mod page before copying an ID. “Ark Survival Ascended” and “Ark Survival Evolved” are separate targets.
- Use ASA installation and configuration documentation for ASA servers; do not assume an ASE Workshop ID, file layout or dependency model applies to ASA.
- Keep separate mod manifests for ASE and ASA. A shared spreadsheet or script that blindly copies IDs between editions is an easy way to create a failed startup.
- Ask players to install the same edition-specific mod set. An ASA client cannot join an ASE server with an ASA asset pack, and the reverse is also true.
Installing an ASE Workshop mod safely
For an ASE server, the required configuration pattern is straightforward, but the mod must first be known to work on your branch. The following procedure applies to a legitimate, available ASE Workshop item such as a candidate you have validated in testing; it does not make the removed greenhouse port usable.

- Obtain the server-side mod file. Place the file named
<workshop_id>.modin the server’sModsfolder. For Klinger Additional Optimized Structures, the filename uses its Workshop ID:2793077888.mod. - Open the server settings. Edit
GameUserSettings.inifor the server instance you intend to start. Make a dated copy before changing it. - Set the active list. Add the validated Workshop ID to the
ActiveMods=setting. If other mods are already present, preserve their IDs and use the server’s normal comma-separated list format, for exampleActiveMods=2793077888for a single-mod test. - Save and restart. A running process will not reliably load a newly added structure mod. Stop the server cleanly, apply the file and configuration change, then start it again.
- Check the result. Review startup logs, connect with a test account and place a structure. Restart once more before approving the change for players.
Order and change control
Keep a written mod manifest containing each ID, the date it was tested, the server branch, map and outcome. Add one mod at a time when diagnosing a failure. When updating or removing a structure mod, announce a maintenance window and retain a world backup from immediately before the change.
Diagnosing common failures
The server will not start after adding the ID
Remove the new ID and its .mod file from the test instance, restore the previous configuration and confirm that the server starts. Then verify that the file name exactly matches the Workshop ID, that it is in the intended server’s Mods folder and that the configuration file being edited belongs to that instance. If the failure returns only when the mod is present, treat the mod as incompatible until a current, authoritative build is available.
Players cannot join
Check that clients are downloading the same mod and that the server has completed its mod load before players connect. A stale client download, a mismatched build or an edition mix-up can all present as a connection or version error. Test with a fresh client profile before changing unrelated server settings.

Placed structures vanish after restart
Stop making new placements, preserve the affected save and remove the mod only in a copy. If the structures return when the mod is restored, the save depends on that asset set. Do not experiment on the only production world; use the copy to determine whether the mod can be retained or whether a controlled rebuild is required.
The mod loads but performance is poor
Do not infer performance from the word “optimized” in the title. Measure the actual city or base scenario you plan to run, compare restart and save behavior with the mod disabled in a copy, and record the result for your player count and map. No published benchmark was established for this Klinger pack.

If your requirement is a currently supported ASE building, administration or quality-of-life feature rather than the Klinger name, established alternatives may be easier to validate. A 2026 dedicated-server guide identifies the following ASE Workshop IDs, but you should still confirm current maintenance and compatibility before installation.

These are context options, not replacements that reproduce Klinger’s rustic aesthetic. Pick them only when their documented function matches your server’s need, and apply the same backup, one-at-a-time installation and restart testing described above.

You run ARK: Survival Evolved
- Exclude the Rustic Greenhouse Evolved port because its listing says it is incompatible and removed.
- Consider Optimized Structures only as an unverified test candidate, using Workshop ID
2793077888. - If the test fails or the project is unavailable, choose a maintained ASE mod that satisfies the functional requirement rather than forcing an Ascended Klinger pack onto Evolved.
You run ARK: Survival Ascended
- Use the ASA listings for Klinger Additional Rustic Building and Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse.
- Keep ASA IDs and installation procedures separate from ASE documentation.
- Confirm current dependencies, client requirements and server support on the live listing before deploying.
You operate both editions
Maintain two independent manifests, two test worlds and two backup policies. Never assume that a successful ASA installation validates an ASE installation, or that a name containing “Evolved” means the item is currently usable on Evolved.
What is still unknown
The available records do not verify a current ASE release for Klinger Additional Optimized Structures, identify additional Klinger items on the author’s Workshop page, or establish whether an old community suggestion to use the PreAquatica beta still works. That suggestion came from a discussion roughly a year ago and should not be treated as a current workaround without live confirmation.
There are also no published performance statistics or named-person quotations that establish a “best” Klinger mod by player count, memory use or frame rate. Any server owner claiming a winner should provide the edition, branch, map, build size and measurement conditions; otherwise the claim is not comparable.
Verdict
For ASE, there is no verified best Klinger mod today. Klinger Additional Rustic Greenhouse Evolved should be ruled out because it is marked incompatible and removed. Klinger Additional Optimized Structures is the only identified ASE candidate, but its old status means it belongs in a controlled compatibility test, not a blanket recommendation. The clearly listed Rustic Building and Rustic GreenHouse packs are ASA mods and should remain on Ascended servers.
