Why the term “best mods” is easy to misunderstand
Searches for the best Jurassic Awakening mods often mix two different categories. Jurassic Awakening is one large overhaul. Ark Additions represents the other category: individual creature additions. Some former add-on creatures are now base-game content
Studio Wildcard has moved some popular Ark Additions creatures into ARK: Survival Ascended’s base game. PCGamesN reported that Deinosuchus was the most downloaded creature across Survival Ascended, with more than 3.5 million claims since its introduction in September 2023. Ceratosaurus was also added to the base game from Ark Additions.
This creates an overlap problem for mod lists: a guide that presents those creatures as required add-ons may be describing an earlier state of the game. Check your installed game content before adding a creature pack, and verify that a chosen add-on still supplies something your edition does not already include.
