For smoother No Man’s Sky sessions on iPhone, turn off Low Power Mode, leave Game Mode on if iOS recognizes the game, and keep the phone cool. These are system-level steps, not a guaranteed frame-rate fix: Hello Games has not published iPhone-specific graphics settings or model-by-model performance figures. Its iOS release is announced for October 28, 2026, so check current availability before downloading.

Turn off Low Power Mode for a performance-focused session
Apple says Low Power Mode can make some tasks slower. On iPhones with ProMotion, it also limits the display refresh rate to 60 frames per second. That is general iPhone guidance, not a measured result for No Man’s Sky; use Low Power Mode when battery life matters more than responsiveness.
On iPhone 14 and earlier, go to Settings → Battery. On iPhone 15 and later, go to Settings → Battery → Power Mode. Turn Low Power Mode off. Menu wording can vary by iOS version. Apple’s Low Power Mode guide has the setting details.

Leave Game Mode enabled if iOS offers it for the game
Game Mode requires iOS 18 or later and a supported game. When a supported game enters full screen, Game Mode turns on automatically. To manage it, open Control Centre and use Game Overlay. Apple says Game Mode prioritises CPU and GPU access for the game, reduces background task use, and doubles the Bluetooth sampling rate for wireless accessories. Those are Apple’s general claims; they do not establish a measured improvement for this title or support on every eligible iPhone. See Apple’s Game Mode guidance.

Keep the phone out of excessive heat
Play out of direct sunlight and avoid extended sessions in a hot environment. Apple says an iPhone may run more slowly when it gets too hot or too cold; in excessive heat, some apps may have lower frame rates or longer processing times. If performance declines as the phone warms, pause and let it cool. Apple’s stated ambient operating range is 0°C to 35°C; this is general device guidance, not a game-specific optimum. Check whether your iPhone is supported
Hello Games’ October 12, 2026 announcement says the iOS version supports iPhone 11 and later. Planetary Settlements require iPhone 15 Pro or later. The minimum supported model is not a promise of equal performance across devices, and the announcement does not provide model-by-model frame rates. The same announcement lists an October 28, 2026 release date and a free trial at launch. It describes the iOS version as including more than 40 major updates and says the download is under 4 GB. Those are the developer’s published details, not independent measurements; availability and requirements may change.

- Check free storage. Apple’s general slow-device guidance recommends keeping at least 1 GB free to avoid slowdowns. This does not prove that storage causes a particular game hitch. See Apple’s troubleshooting guidance.
- Check battery health if performance problems persist. Apple includes battery health among general checks for a slow iPhone. It does not establish that battery condition is the cause of a specific game’s performance.
- Notice whether the slowdown follows heat. If it appears after a warm, extended session and improves after cooling, heat may be a factor; avoid treating that pattern as a title-specific diagnosis.
- Do not hunt for undocumented graphics settings. Hello Games’ iOS announcement does not document a performance mode, resolution slider, frame-rate cap, or graphics preset. It says the developer worked on battery life and thermodynamics, but gives no device-by-device measurements.
Controllers are for input, not frame rate
Hello Games says the iOS version supports controllers and has rebuilt touch controls. A controller may suit your preferred way to play, but it is not a documented graphics tweak. The announcement does not name compatible controller models or provide controller benchmarks, so verify compatibility for your device and controller before buying.
