No Man’s Sky was not yet available for iPhone or iPad on October 13, 2026: Hello Games and Apple announced its mobile launch for October 28, with a free trial at launch. Until then, Star Traders: Frontiers is the clearest pick for players who want to captain a ship and make their own way through a space RPG; Foundation: Galactic Frontier is a better fit for story-led exploration and strategy. Neither is established as a substitute for the original’s seamless travel between planets and space.

Foundation: Galactic Frontier combines a narrative space adventure with management. Its US App Store description covers ship construction and life-support systems, recruiting a crew, exploring planets and ruins, landing combat, trade networks, and fleet strategy. That range may appeal if you want space exploration with more structure and strategic decisions than a freeform survival sandbox.

What to expect from No Man’s Sky on iPhone and iPad
As of October 13, 2026, Apple and Hello Games announced an October 28 iOS launch. The US App Store listing says players can try the beginning free and unlock the full game with a one-time purchase. Its description promises exploration, trading, fighting, and survival in a procedurally generated universe, with travel between deep space and planetary surfaces without loading screens. Hello Games says the mobile version includes the full universe and major updates.

- Planetary settlements require iPhone 15 Pro or later.
- Hello Games says the app is under 4 GB.
Know the mobile version’s limits and controls
- Multiplayer is not supported in the announced iOS version, so do not assume the shared-play features of other versions carry over.
- Hello Games says touch controls have been rebuilt for mobile. Controller support is included, but a controller is optional.
- The announcement also lists TV casting and mouse and keyboard support on iPad.
