This is a deliberately short list because the available evidence confirms only one game in both categories. Download it before you travel or enter an area without service. How to prepare Vampire Survivors for a flight or dead zone
- Install while connected. Use a reliable Wi-Fi or cellular connection to download the current App Store build. Do not wait until you are at the airport gate, underground or already in airplane mode.
- Open the game once online. Complete any first-run setup, permissions, sign-in prompt or additional download that appears. The available evidence does not guarantee that first-time setup is connection-free.
- Let the installation finish. Keep the game open long enough for any visible update or content download to complete. If the App Store shows an update, apply it before departure rather than assuming you can update later.

Run-based survival games generally support stopping between attempts, which suits commutes and flights where your available time is uncertain. You should still use the airplane-mode test to confirm that pausing, resuming and restarting behave as expected on your device; those behaviors are not specified by Apple’s editorial label.

Apple’s indie collection contains many titles, and its offline collection contains many games. However, the current evidence identifies only Vampire Survivors in both collections. A game being called indie does not prove that it works without a connection, and an offline label does not prove that it is an indie game.
That is why this guide does not turn nearby candidates into unsupported recommendations. A longer list would require evidence for both criteria for every title, plus a check of device compatibility and the behavior of the installed build. Listing games on the basis of genre, reputation or a single collection would give you a less reliable answer to the actual question.

Vampire Crawlers: related, but not a confirmed offline choice
Apple’s October 12, 2026 Indie Games Week announcement describes Vampire Crawlers as a Vampire Survivors spin-off and a tactical gothic card battler. The announcement establishes its relationship and genre description, but it does not establish that Vampire Crawlers works offline.
That makes it an interesting title to investigate separately, not a confirmed recommendation for this list. Do not infer offline play from the spin-off relationship, and do not treat an appearance in an indie-focused announcement as proof that the core game works without a network connection.
