For a reliable starting profile, update both the Switch and HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed, turn gamepad acceleration off, use Gamepad Sensitivity 1.2 and Aiming Sensitivity 0.8, begin with Auto Aim Damping 0.6 and Auto Aim Strength 0.5, and test First Person with Right Shoulder as the alternate camera pairing. If gyro aiming feels natural, keep the stick for broad turns and use gyro for small corrections.
Those numbers come from a third-party controller guide written for Xbox and PC, not a Switch-controlled test. Treat them as a baseline, change one control at a time, and keep expectations realistic: documented updates improve memory use, interface performance, gyro behavior and aiming fixes, but no authoritative source establishes a universal Switch frame-rate target, resolution or graphics preset.
What the recommended Switch profile actually changes
HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed is a first- and third-person shooter built around action figures. Digital Cybercherries’ official 2020 press-kit factsheet lists Nintendo Switch as a platform, gives 27 April 2020 as the release date and lists a Switch price of $24.99 at launch. The game’s feel depends less on a single “maximum performance” switch than on how the camera, thumbsticks, gyro and aim assistance work together.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

The baseline below separates two different jobs. Input settings determine how quickly and precisely your view moves. Software updates determine whether known memory, interface, camera and aim bugs have been corrected. Changing sensitivity cannot repair an outdated installation, and an update cannot decide which turning speed feels comfortable to you.

Start with an updated console and game
Update before judging aiming or smoothness. Nintendo’s support information lists Switch system version 23.0.1, released 1 October 2026, with a fix for software that could take a long time to start, pause or close. Install the current system update offered by the console, then install any available HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed update. Restart the game after both updates finish.
This matters because the developer has documented changes that affect how the game behaves rather than merely adding menu options. A major update corrected mesh and texture settings to reduce texture-memory use, improved interface performance and improved overall gyro usability. The developer’s announcement archive also records better level-of-detail performance on character meshes, more consistent gamepad icons in the interface and fixes affecting auto-aim or aim-magnetism for some enemies.
Those are documented software improvements, not a promise of a fixed frame rate. No authoritative source establishes a current Switch resolution, a universal frame-rate target or a user-selectable graphics-quality preset for every mode. If a menu or video claims a guaranteed number that is not in the game’s current official documentation, do not treat it as a Switch specification.
Recommended starting profile
Apply the following as a neutral starting point. The sensitivity and auto-aim numbers are published guidance for Xbox and PC, so they are reference values rather than Switch-tested results.

| Setting | Starting value | How to interpret it | Evidence and qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gamepad acceleration | Off, when the option is available | Removes acceleration from the initial test so stick movement is easier to judge consistently. | Recommended by a published HYPERCHARGE controller guide; the guide is not Switch-specific. |
| Gamepad Sensitivity | 1.2 | Controls broad view movement with the stick. Raise it only if turning feels too slow; lower it if you regularly swing past targets. | Published guide value for Xbox/PC, used here as a starting reference. |
| Aiming Sensitivity | 0.8 | Provides a slower, more deliberate value for lining up shots than the broad-turn setting. | Published guide value for Xbox/PC, not a measured Switch optimum. |
| Auto Aim Damping | 0.6 | Start here when you want assistance to settle your reticle without making it feel locked in place. | Published guide value for Xbox/PC. |
| Auto Aim Strength | 0.5 | Moderate assistance is a useful reference while you learn how much help the game gives against small targets. | Published guide value for Xbox/PC. |
| Camera pairing | First Person with Right Shoulder as the alternate camera pairing | Compare this arrangement with the perspective you naturally read most clearly; do not change sensitivity and camera at the same time. | Recommendation in the same third-party controller guide. |
| Gyro | Optional; use for fine corrections if comfortable | Keep the stick for large turns and let gyro make small alignment movements. Disable it if motion feels inconsistent. | Gyro usability was improved in a major update, but no authoritative source gives one best Switch gyro sensitivity. |
How to apply and test the settings
- Finish updates first. Confirm that the Switch reports the current system software available to you and that HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed has completed its own update. Restart the game rather than evaluating it immediately after installation.
- Open the game’s controller or aiming options. Locate the entries named Gamepad Acceleration, Gamepad Sensitivity, Aiming Sensitivity, Auto Aim Damping, Auto Aim Strength, camera pairing and gyro. Menu placement can change between versions, so use the labels rather than relying on a remembered menu position.
- Set the baseline. Turn acceleration off if the toggle exists. Enter 1.2 for Gamepad Sensitivity, 0.8 for Aiming Sensitivity, 0.6 for Auto Aim Damping and 0.5 for Auto Aim Strength. Select First Person with Right Shoulder as the alternate camera pairing if that combination is available.
- Choose one input method to evaluate. Begin with the sticks alone. If you want gyro, enable it after the stick baseline feels understandable; otherwise you will not know which input caused a change.
- Test in a low-pressure match or training context. Make broad turns, stop on a target, track a small moving enemy and reverse direction. Use the same short test each time so a change is comparable.
- Change one variable only. Adjust either broad-turn sensitivity, aiming sensitivity, damping, strength, camera or gyro. Play the same test again before touching another setting. Record the value that produced the change you wanted.
Find the right stick speed without losing precision
Two sensitivity controls serve different moments. Gamepad Sensitivity is the broad-turn reference: it determines how quickly your view moves when you need to face a new direction. Aiming Sensitivity is the fine-control reference: it affects the small movements used while placing the reticle on a target. Keeping the first value higher than the second, as in the 1.2 and 0.8 baseline, gives you a deliberate starting contrast rather than making every movement equally fast.
| What you notice | Change one setting | What success looks like |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot turn quickly enough to face a new threat. | Raise Gamepad Sensitivity slightly above 1.2. | You can complete a broad turn without lifting and re-centering the stick repeatedly. |
| You swing past targets during small corrections. | Lower Aiming Sensitivity below 0.8. | The reticle stops where you intend instead of crossing the target. |
| Broad turns are comfortable but final aiming is still jumpy. | Keep Gamepad Sensitivity and lower Aiming Sensitivity one step at a time. | Large rotations remain quick while the final reticle movement is controllable. |
| Both turning and fine aiming feel sluggish. | Raise the relevant control separately; do not raise both at once. | You can identify whether the problem was travel speed or fine placement. |
There is no authoritative Switch-specific numeric profile to copy. The useful value is the one that lets you repeat the same stop-on-target movement, not the one that matches another player’s number.
Balance auto-aim assistance
Auto Aim Damping and Auto Aim Strength should be tuned according to what the reticle does around a target. Start at 0.6 damping and 0.5 strength. If the reticle feels sticky, reduce assistance rather than immediately changing sensitivity. If tracking a small enemy is difficult, increase assistance gradually. Make only one change and repeat the same tracking test.
Damping and strength are not interchangeable. A reticle that drifts or clings as you pass a target points toward an assistance problem; a view that turns too slowly or too quickly during your own input points toward sensitivity. Separating those symptoms prevents you from compensating for aim assistance by making the entire camera faster.
Developer notes report fixes for auto-aim or aim-magnetism behavior on some enemies. If assistance feels different after updating, first confirm that the update is installed and then recheck your values. Do not assume a changed feel means the controls are broken; corrected target behavior can make the same numbers feel different.

Decide whether gyro aiming helps
The major update’s improved overall gyro usability makes gyro worth testing, but improvement does not establish a universal sensitivity or prove that gyro is better than sticks for every player. Start with the stick profile so you have a known reference. Then enable gyro and use it only for small corrections while the stick handles broad turns.
Keep gyro enabled when
- You can make short physical movements that place the reticle more accurately than a thumbstick alone.
- The gyro remains predictable when you stop moving the controller.
- You can track a target without accidentally introducing large camera swings.
Disable gyro when
- The reticle moves when the controller is supposed to be still.
- You find yourself fighting motion input during broad turns.
- You cannot reproduce the same correction in repeated tests.
If gyro is inconsistent, disable it and tune the stick profile instead. No source establishes a best Switch gyro number, so do not treat a value copied from another game or platform as authoritative for HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed.
Compare first-person and right-shoulder camera views
The published controller guide recommends First Person with Right Shoulder as the alternate camera pairing. Use that as your first comparison, not as a universal rule. Camera choice changes how much of the action-figure character and surrounding space you see, which in turn changes how quickly a target appears to move across your view.
- Keep your sensitivity and auto-aim values fixed.
- Play the same short test in the recommended pairing.
- Switch to the other available pairing without changing any other option.
- Compare target visibility, corner checks, broad turns and the final stop on a small target.
- Keep the view that makes target placement repeatable, then tune sensitivity for that view.
Changing camera and sensitivity together hides cause and effect. A view that seems too fast may simply present more apparent movement, while a view that seems slow may be revealing a need for a higher broad-turn value.

What the documented performance updates can and cannot fix
The developer has described several changes relevant to perceived smoothness:
- Corrected mesh and texture settings lower texture-memory use.
- Interface performance was improved.
- Character-mesh level-of-detail performance became better.
- Gamepad icons in the interface and HUD became more consistent.
- Some auto-aim and aim-magnetism issues were fixed.
- Overall gyro usability was improved.
- Thumbstick movement in the interface was improved.
These changes can remove specific software problems, reduce interface friction and make input behavior more consistent. They do not guarantee 60 frames per second, a particular resolution or a selectable performance mode. Those specifications are not established by the available authoritative information, so evaluate smoothness by observing your own current, updated installation rather than by expecting an undocumented target.

Use a short, repeatable protocol instead of changing settings whenever a match feels difficult. A low-pressure match or training context is preferable because it lets you repeat the same movement without the pressure of a live fight.
- Warm up without changing options. Make several broad turns and stop on a fixed target.
- Measure broad movement. Ask whether one comfortable stick motion produces the turn you need. If not, adjust Gamepad Sensitivity only.
- Measure fine movement. Track a small target and stop the reticle. If you overshoot, adjust Aiming Sensitivity only.
- Measure assistance. Pass across a target and observe whether the reticle sticks too strongly or fails to help. Adjust damping or strength, not both.
- Measure gyro separately. Repeat the fine-movement test with gyro enabled, then disabled. Keep it only if the correction is more repeatable.
- Write down the final values. A simple note prevents you from losing a profile after experimenting and gives you a known fallback.
Troubleshooting common symptoms
The game takes a long time to start, pause or close
Install the current Switch system update. Nintendo’s version 23.0.1 support note, dated 1 October 2026, specifically lists a fix for software that could take a long time to start, pause or close. Restart after updating and check the game for its own update.

The interface still feels slow or the stick is awkward in menus
Verify that the game update installed successfully. Documented changes include improved UI performance and improved thumbstick movement in the UI. These fixes address interface behavior; changing combat sensitivity will not repair a menu problem.
Aim assistance feels too sticky
Lower Auto Aim Damping or Auto Aim Strength one at a time from the 0.6 and 0.5 baseline. Keep sensitivity fixed while testing so you can tell whether the reticle behavior changed.

Small targets are hard to track
Increase assistance gradually from the baseline, or reduce Aiming Sensitivity if your own corrections are overshooting. The developer has also documented aim-magnetism fixes, so confirm the game is updated before deciding that the behavior is a settings limitation.
Gyro movement feels unpredictable
Disable gyro and repeat the same test with sticks. If the stick profile is consistent, keep gyro off; there is no authoritative Switch-specific gyro sensitivity that must be used.
Limits of current Switch-specific information
The available authoritative material does not provide a controlled comparison of gyro against stick aiming on Switch, a current Switch-only sensitivity profile, a fixed frame-rate specification, a current resolution for every mode or a universal graphics-quality preset. Numeric values in this guide are therefore starting points, and update notes describe implemented changes rather than a guaranteed performance number.
That distinction keeps the profile useful without promising a result the game’s documentation does not establish. Update first, separate broad turning from fine aiming, test auto-aim independently and use gyro only when your own repeated tests show a benefit.

Quick checklist
- Switch and game updated; restart completed.
- Gamepad acceleration off, if available.
- Gamepad Sensitivity 1.2 and Aiming Sensitivity 0.8 as the initial reference.
- Auto Aim Damping 0.6 and Auto Aim Strength 0.5 as the initial reference.
- First Person with Right Shoulder as the alternate camera pairing tested without changing other values.
- Gyro tested separately for fine corrections, then disabled if inconsistent.
- Only one setting changed between comparable tests.
- No undocumented frame-rate, resolution or graphics-mode promise assumed.
The Bottom Line
For Nintendo Switch, begin with the updated game, acceleration off, 1.2/0.8 stick sensitivities, 0.6/0.5 auto-aim values and a controlled camera comparison. Tune from there with one-variable tests; the documented updates improve underlying behavior, but they do not define a guaranteed frame rate or a universal Switch sensitivity.
