The best Infinix GT gaming setup is the fastest combination your particular phone and game can sustain without uneven frame pacing. Start with the highest stable in-game frame-rate option, enable X-Boost or Esports Mode, and then lower visual effects before lowering responsiveness. Use the highest refresh rate when you need quick touch feedback; switch to 90Hz or 60Hz when heat and battery drain matter more. The GT 30, GT 20 Pro and GT 10 Pro have different displays, cooling systems and gaming features, so one preset cannot fit every model or every title.

This guide gives a reliable baseline for PUBG, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire and Genshin Impact, then shows how to tune it safely. Frame-rate caps, supported resolutions, XOS menu labels and available gaming options can differ by model, region, software version and game publisher.

Use this 10-minute baseline first

  1. Install the latest XOS and game updates. On the GT 20 Pro, open Settings > System > System update; other XOS releases may place the updater under a slightly different label.
  2. Open the phone’s gaming hub or X-Boost panel, add the game, and select its performance, gaming or esports profile.
  3. Set the display to its highest available refresh rate when responsiveness is the priority: up to 144Hz on supported GT 20 Pro and GT 30 configurations, or 120Hz on the GT 10 Pro.
  4. Inside the game, choose the highest frame-rate target that remains steady. Select that target before increasing resolution, shadows or effects.
  5. Raise one visual option at a time. Play for several minutes after each change; if motion becomes uneven, undo the last change rather than stacking more tweaks.
  6. For long sessions, lower brightness, close unused apps, keep the phone out of direct sunlight and avoid charging while a demanding game is making the phone excessively hot.

A stable 90 frames per second usually feels better than a nominal 120fps that repeatedly falls to 70 or 80. The objective is consistent frame delivery, not the largest number shown in a menu.

What each Infinix GT model can support

Model Relevant hardware and features Practical starting point
GT 30 Dimensity 7400; 1.5K AMOLED display at 1224×2720; 60, 90, 120 and 144Hz choices; up to 240Hz touch sampling; GT Trigger controls; 5500mAh battery; 45W charging. Use 144Hz for competitive play when the game can keep its target frame rate. Use 120Hz or 90Hz for longer sessions if temperature or drain rises.
GT 20 Pro Dimensity 8200 Ultimate; dedicated gaming display chip; 144Hz AMOLED display; up to 120FPS gaming; Esports Mode; 5000mAh battery; 45W charging. Infinix advertises up to 120 FPS for 60 minutes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, with results varying by game and circumstances. Try the game’s 120fps option first, then use 90fps or 60fps if the rate fluctuates. Esports Mode is the preferred profile for competitive matches.
GT 10 Pro 120Hz display; 360Hz touch sampling; 4319mm² vapor-chamber cooling area; 5000mAh battery; 45W charging; bypass charging. Use 120Hz for action games. Select 60fps or 90fps and reduce effects when a long Genshin session or a warm room causes throttling.

Refresh rate and touch-sampling rate are different. A 144Hz panel can redraw the image up to 144 times per second, while touch sampling describes how frequently the phone checks for finger input. A higher touch figure does not make a game render more frames, and a game capped at 60fps cannot become a 120fps game simply because the display is set to 120Hz.

Configure XOS and X-Boost correctly

Update before changing performance settings

Software updates can alter frame-rate support, thermal behavior and the location of gaming controls. Open Settings > System > System update on the GT 20 Pro, install any available update, restart the phone and then update the game from its app store. Because XOS labels differ by release and region, use the Settings search field for “system update,” “X-Boost” or “refresh rate” if a menu is not where this guide describes it.

Enable the gaming profile

Launch the gaming hub, select the title and turn on X-Boost, Performance Mode or Esports Mode, depending on the wording shown on your phone. The GT 20 Pro manual describes X-Boost as a resource-prioritization layer that exposes gaming-specific optimizations. Keep notifications, calls and floating windows restricted if interruptions affect play, but allow any voice-chat or accessibility service you genuinely need.

Do not assume that every toggle improves frame rate. Features such as screen recording, animated overlays, high-brightness boosts and floating widgets consume resources. Turn them on only when they solve a real problem, and test one change at a time.

Choose a refresh rate deliberately

  • 144Hz: Use on a GT 30 or GT 20 Pro when the game offers a high frame-rate mode and the phone remains cool enough to sustain it. It gives the shortest display interval available on those models, but increases power use.
  • 120Hz: The appropriate maximum for the GT 10 Pro and a sensible endurance choice on the newer models. It is often the best compromise when a game is capped at 120fps.
  • 90Hz: Useful when a game cannot hold 120fps, or when you want less heat and drain without falling all the way to 60Hz.
  • 60Hz: Select for turn-based games, battery-first travel or a phone that is already hot. It can also prevent the system from spending energy driving a refresh rate the game cannot use.

Open the display settings, find refresh rate or screen refresh rate, and select the desired value. Some XOS versions provide an Auto or Smart option; that can save power, but a fixed rate is easier to diagnose when you are measuring frame consistency.

Set touch and trigger controls

Use the highest touch-sampling option offered by the model when precise aiming or rapid taps matter. On the GT 30, map GT Trigger buttons only to actions that improve control, such as aim, fire, jump or skill activation. Keep the mapping simple enough to remember and verify that trigger zones do not obstruct an important on-screen control. The GT 10 Pro’s 360Hz touch-sampling specification and the GT 30’s up-to-240Hz figure describe input scanning, not guaranteed game performance.

Game-by-game starting settings

These are starting profiles rather than universal official presets. After applying one, check the game’s own frame-rate counter or the behavior of camera pans and fights. Increase image quality only after the selected frame-rate target remains steady.

PUBG Mobile and similar competitive shooters

  1. Choose the game’s highest frame-rate option that your model exposes. On a GT 20 Pro, test the 90fps or 120fps choice if the title offers it; on other configurations, choose the highest available stable option.
  2. Start with Smooth or the game’s lowest competitive graphics preset. This reduces shadows and post-processing that can obscure opponents or create frame-time spikes.
  3. Raise texture quality one step if the image is too soft. Leave shadows, anti-aliasing and heavy effects reduced until you have confirmed stable frame delivery.
  4. Use the highest supported refresh rate and touch setting, then adjust sensitivity separately. Display refresh and sensitivity solve different problems.
  5. Disable automatic graphics adjustment if it repeatedly changes the preset during a match. Re-enable it if the phone is overheating and you prefer automatic protection.

For a tournament-style profile, readable targets and consistent aim are more valuable than ultra textures. If the frame rate drops during smoke, vehicle scenes or large firefights, reduce effects before reducing the refresh rate.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

  1. Enable the game’s highest FPS mode, then use a High or Medium graphics preset that keeps team fights smooth.
  2. Reduce shadows, reflections and other cosmetic effects first. These changes preserve character readability while lowering render load.
  3. Keep the phone at 120Hz or 144Hz when the match can sustain the corresponding frame target. A GT 20 Pro page claims “up to 120 FPS 60 min” for MLBB; treat that as a model-specific published result, not a promise for every patch, region or temperature.
  4. Use X-Boost or Esports Mode and block nonessential pop-ups. Leave voice chat enabled if your team depends on it.

If the rate falls only in crowded fights, keep the frame cap but lower effects and shadows. If it falls throughout the match, select a lower cap such as 90fps or 60fps and avoid running the phone while it is charging in excessive heat.

Free Fire

  1. Set the game’s high-FPS option if available and select the highest graphics level that does not introduce stutter when turning quickly.
  2. Use standard or medium effects before experimenting with ultra textures. Free Fire’s lighter workload often leaves room for a higher visual preset, but a particular update or map can change that balance.
  3. Keep 120Hz or 144Hz enabled for competitive play, and use 90Hz when you want a cooler phone during repeated matches.
  4. Map GT Triggers to a small number of high-value actions on the GT 30. Avoid assigning every possible command, which can make accidental presses more likely.

Genshin Impact

  1. Choose a 60fps target only if the phone can sustain it in cities, combat and exploration. If the frame rate repeatedly falls, select 30fps or a lower stable cap rather than leaving the game uncapped.
  2. Begin at Medium overall quality. Lower shadows, visual effects, volumetric effects and render resolution before reducing texture quality, because those options usually have a larger effect on frame time.
  3. Use 120Hz or 144Hz only when the selected game cap and sustained temperature justify it. A high display rate cannot make a 30fps game look like a 120fps game, but it can increase idle and gaming power consumption.
  4. Turn off motion blur if it makes camera movement look smeared, and close background apps before a long session.

Genshin is a useful stress test: a setup that looks smooth in a menu may still throttle after extended traversal or combat. Judge it after a sustained play period, not the first minute.

Profiles for competition, long sessions and battery life

Goal Display Game settings Power and thermal choices
Competitive FPS or MOBA Highest supported refresh rate and touch setting. Highest stable FPS; lower shadows and effects when necessary. X-Boost or Esports Mode; use bypass charging only on a supported model and only while temperature is controlled.
Long RPG session 90Hz or 60Hz if heat or drain is high. Medium preset with a stable frame-rate cap. Moderate brightness, good airflow and no charging when the phone is already excessively hot.
Battery-first travel 60Hz. Lowest readable preset and a conservative FPS cap. Close background apps and enable power saving when necessary.

Save separate in-game profiles when the title supports them. A competitive preset can prioritize response, while an endurance preset avoids changing multiple settings before every match.

Bypass charging and heat management

Bypass charging is a model-specific power path, not a universal feature of every Infinix GT phone. Infinix describes the GT 10 Pro implementation as sending power directly to the motherboard while gaming, reducing the need to charge the battery during play. Its published laboratory test at 25°C reports a 2°C average temperature reduction and a 7°C maximum reduction compared with the relevant charging setup. Those figures apply to that test, the GT 10 Pro and its stated conditions; they should not be generalized to the GT 20 Pro, GT 30, every XOS version or every room temperature.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When the bypass option is present, enable it from the gaming hub or battery section before connecting the charger, then watch the phone’s temperature during play. It can reduce battery-related heat, but the processor, display, modem and charger can still warm the device. Stop the session or lower the game settings if the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold, shows a thermal warning or begins dropping frames.

  • Keep the phone uncovered and away from direct sun, blankets and car dashboards.
  • Use the supplied or a properly rated 45W charger and cable; avoid damaged accessories.
  • Remove a thick case temporarily if it traps heat.
  • Lower brightness and refresh rate before resorting to aggressive power-saving modes that may interfere with responsiveness.
  • Do not treat bypass charging as permission to run maximum graphics indefinitely.

How to diagnose stutter, heat and battery drain

The game shows a high FPS number but feels uneven

Uneven frame pacing usually means the phone is missing individual frame deadlines, even if an overlay reports a high average. Lock the game to the next lower FPS option, keep the display refresh rate at or above that cap, and reduce shadows or effects. If the problem disappears, the previous target was too demanding for the current scene or temperature.

Performance starts well and falls after several minutes

This pattern points to heat accumulation or a background process. End screen recording and floating overlays, close unused apps, reduce brightness, improve airflow and test again without charging. If the drop remains, move from 144Hz to 120Hz or 90Hz and lower the game preset. A cooler, stable 90fps profile is preferable to a brief burst of 120fps followed by repeated throttling.

Touch feels delayed even though FPS is stable

Confirm that the game is using the intended control layout, that a power-saving mode has not reduced performance, and that the phone’s touch-sampling or gaming-touch option is enabled. Remove accidental palm contact from the screen edge and test without a poorly fitted screen protector. Touch sampling, display refresh and network latency are separate; changing one cannot correct all three.

The phone drains quickly

High refresh rate, maximum brightness, mobile data, background synchronization and a demanding game can all draw power at once. Move to 90Hz or 60Hz, reduce brightness, close unused apps and use Wi-Fi when it is reliable. Keep a stable FPS cap rather than leaving the game uncapped. Charging can replenish the battery, but it may add heat, so do not charge through a high-temperature session simply to preserve the highest preset.

Menus or options are missing

Game publishers decide which frame-rate and resolution choices appear, while XOS and regional firmware decide where X-Boost and refresh controls are located. Search Settings for the feature name, install pending updates and restart the phone. If an option still does not appear, the model, region or current game version may not support it; do not use an unofficial tool to force a mode that the game does not expose.

A repeatable tuning test

  1. Restart the phone and allow system updates and game resources to finish.
  2. Set the chosen refresh rate, X-Boost profile and game FPS cap.
  3. Play the same demanding activity for 10 to 15 minutes, including combat or a busy multiplayer scene.
  4. Note sustained smoothness, visible stutter, temperature, battery loss and touch consistency rather than the peak FPS number.
  5. Change one setting only, repeat the same activity and keep the change only if it improves the result without unacceptable heat or drain.
  6. Save the final settings as a named profile in the game or write them down so an update can be compared against a known baseline.

Repeat the test after a major XOS or game update. A new renderer, map or frame-rate cap can change which combination is sustainable, even when the phone hardware has not changed.

Recommended defaults by model

GT 30

Use 144Hz and the highest stable FPS for competitive games, with X-Boost enabled and GT Triggers assigned to essential actions. Start heavier titles at a medium preset, then raise textures before shadows or effects. The 5500mAh battery provides more capacity than the GT 20 Pro and GT 10 Pro specifications listed here, but that does not eliminate heat from a 1.5K display running at high brightness and refresh rate. Shift to 120Hz or 90Hz for long sessions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

GT 20 Pro

Use Esports Mode or X-Boost, test the game’s 120fps option where it is offered, and keep the 144Hz display setting when responsiveness matters. The dedicated gaming display chip and Infinix’s up-to-120FPS positioning are useful starting points, not guarantees for every title. If a game cannot hold 120fps, choose 90fps or 60fps and reduce effects rather than leaving an unstable cap in place.

GT 10 Pro

Use 120Hz, enable the game’s highest stable frame-rate option and take advantage of bypass charging when the feature is available and the phone is temperature-controlled. Its 4319mm² vapor-chamber cooling area and published bypass-charging laboratory figures describe the hardware and test conditions, not an assurance that every game will remain cool at maximum settings. For extended Genshin play, begin at a medium preset and cap the frame rate conservatively.

Bottom line

For competitive play, choose the highest refresh rate and FPS combination that remains steady, enable X-Boost or Esports Mode, and cut shadows and effects before sacrificing responsiveness. For long sessions, 90Hz or 60Hz, moderate brightness, a stable frame cap and good airflow usually deliver a better experience than maximum settings. Bypass charging can help on supported models, especially the GT 10 Pro under its published laboratory conditions, but it does not replace sensible thermal limits. Tune each game on the exact GT phone, XOS release and game version you use.
