Start with Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy. It is the closest broad match for Uncharted 2 because it combines third-person shooting, climbing, stealth, environmental puzzles, hidden tombs, historical artifacts and globe-spanning adventure. The three-game collection contains Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Lara also gets more freedom to explore than Nathan Drake usually has in Uncharted’s carefully staged levels.
Your ideal alternative depends on which part of Uncharted 2 you want to preserve. Choose The Last of Us Part I for Naughty Dog’s cinematic storytelling, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for exploration with blockbuster combat, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology and puzzles, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for travel and open-world treasure hunting, God of War (2018) for mythic character drama, or Ghost of Tsushima for historical open-world combat.
What makes a game feel like Uncharted 2?
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is not defined by one mechanic. Its appeal comes from the way several systems are staged together: a cinematic journey moves through memorable locations, climbing and traversal lead into firefights, puzzles break up combat, and a treasure-hunt plot gives every set piece a sense of discovery. The pacing is mostly linear, so the game can control reveals, escapes and spectacular action scenes with unusual precision.

That combination creates a useful test for alternatives. A game can have climbing but feel nothing like Uncharted if it is primarily a survival game. It can have a huge map but lose the tightly choreographed rhythm. It can offer excellent combat while replacing third-person shooting with melee, stealth or role-playing systems. The recommendations below separate those differences instead of treating every action-adventure game as interchangeable.

1. Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy — the closest overall match
Why it is the first recommendation
The modern Tomb Raider trilogy reproduces the most important mechanical overlap with Uncharted 2. Lara travels through dangerous environments, climbs across ruined structures, searches for historical artifacts, solves environmental puzzles and fights through set pieces built around exploration. Combat can be handled quietly or loudly, so you can approach an encounter with stealth or use direct gunplay when the situation turns chaotic.
GameSpot describes the trilogy as the closest game family to Uncharted, while GamesRadar highlights its action-packed treasure hunting, climbing, puzzle-solving and ancient legends. That is a stronger match than simply choosing another popular third-person action game: the loop itself repeatedly alternates between movement, combat, discovery and puzzle spaces.

- Tomb Raider (2013): The most direct starting point for Lara’s rebooted origin. It establishes the climbing, survival, shooting and tomb-raiding formula in a campaign that remains relatively directed.
- Rise of the Tomb Raider: Builds on the same foundation with larger areas and more room to explore between story missions. It is a good choice if you want the basic Uncharted rhythm but more optional content.
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Places greater emphasis on tombs, puzzles and traversal, making it especially attractive if the archaeological side matters more to you than constant firefights.
Where it differs from Uncharted 2
Lara’s adventures generally give you more agency. Optional paths, hidden tombs and exploration spaces can pull you away from the critical route, whereas Uncharted 2 is famous for a tightly controlled sequence of scenes. The trilogy also gives more attention to stealth approaches and character progression. That freedom is an advantage for players who want to investigate a location, but it can reduce the feeling that every moment has been arranged as a cinematic reveal.
The tone is also more survival-oriented. Lara is often isolated, resources can matter, and the environment itself is a threat. If your favorite Uncharted moments are the banter and brisk globe-trotting pace, the quieter stretches may feel more serious. If your priority is climbing, shooting, puzzles and hidden tombs, this is the safest purchase.
2. The Last of Us Part I — Naughty Dog’s darker story-driven alternative
Choose it for narrative craft
The Last of Us Part I shares Naughty Dog authorship with Uncharted and carries over the studio’s strengths in cinematic presentation, character animation, environmental storytelling and carefully staged combat encounters. Its world-building is built around the relationship between Joel and Ellie, so conversations, discoveries and moments of danger are all tied to the emotional progression of the journey.
This is the best alternative when what you miss is not treasure hunting but the feeling that every chapter is advancing a prestige action-drama. The game uses third-person combat and stealth, and its environments invite you to look for routes, supplies and tactical advantages before committing to a fight.

The trade-off: survival and emotional severity
It is substantially darker than Uncharted 2. The story is survival-focused rather than a playful race for an artifact, and violence is presented with greater emotional weight. Stealth is more central, ammunition and resources can be more consequential, and the campaign spends more time on tension than on flamboyant adventure.
There are no globe-spanning treasure hunts or repeated tomb puzzles here. Pick it if you want Naughty Dog’s cinematic pacing, strong world-building and character drama. Do not pick it expecting the lighter tone, historical mysteries or climbing-heavy level design that define an Uncharted-style expedition.
3. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — cinematic exploration with lightsabers
Why it works for adventure-action fans
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor preserves the sense of moving through spectacular locations while pursuing a large cinematic story. You travel between planets, explore open zones, unlock movement abilities and fight with multiple lightsaber styles. The result feels like a blockbuster adventure, but its science-fiction setting and melee systems give it a different physical language from Nathan Drake’s shooting.
The exploration structure is more open than Uncharted. Areas contain optional routes and return paths that become accessible as Cal gains new abilities. That makes discovery more deliberate: instead of being carried from one scene to the next, you may notice a blocked passage, remember it and come back later with the required movement power.

Combat and pacing differences
Lightsaber combat is the center of the action. Different styles encourage different ranges and defensive approaches, and force powers add another layer to encounters. Firearms are not the main tool, so this is not a substitute for Uncharted’s cover shooting. It is better understood as an alternative for players who value traversal, cinematic set pieces and a strong sense of place more than weapon similarity.
The open zones can also interrupt the tightly edited momentum that makes Uncharted 2 distinctive. You may spend time navigating, revisiting locations or completing optional objectives before the next story sequence. Choose Jedi: Survivor when you want a more exploratory action adventure in another universe, and accept that the pacing is less linear and the combat is primarily melee.
4. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle — the strongest archaeology-and-puzzle substitute
A treasure-hunt premise that matches the fantasy
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle follows an original Indiana Jones story through locations including Italy, Egypt, the Himalayas and Shanghai. That itinerary directly serves the fantasy many players seek after Uncharted 2: travel to famous or mysterious places, investigate ancient history, uncover a conspiracy and solve problems that are inseparable from the setting.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

The whip is both a traversal tool and a weapon, giving movement and combat a distinctive identity. Puzzles are a major part of the experience, so the game is a particularly good fit if you remember Uncharted’s chambers, mechanisms and historical clues more vividly than its gunfights.
Why the perspective and structure matter
Its design emphasizes investigation and puzzle solving rather than copying Uncharted’s exact third-person formula. You should expect to inspect environments, interpret clues and decide how to approach situations instead of simply following a chain of cover battles and climbing prompts. The story remains cinematic, but the adventure is more focused on being an archaeologist and problem-solver.
Choose it over Tomb Raider when historical atmosphere and puzzle density are your top priorities. Choose Tomb Raider instead if you specifically want a third-person shooter with a comparable climbing-and-combat loop.
5. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag — the biggest world for travel and treasure
What it adds to the Uncharted formula
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag turns the travel fantasy into the structure of the entire game. Its Caribbean setting includes sailing, ship combat, buried treasure and puzzles, with a world considerably larger than Uncharted’s staged levels. The sea is not just a backdrop between missions; it is the means of moving between islands, finding objectives and choosing what to investigate next.
This makes Black Flag a strong recommendation for players who want the feeling of a treasure map opening into a whole region. You can leave the critical path to search for buried caches, explore islands or engage in naval encounters. The freedom creates stories that come from your route rather than from a fixed sequence of set pieces.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat you give up
The campaign is less tightly choreographed than Uncharted 2. Sailing and ship combat occupy a large share of the experience, while climbing is integrated into an open-world stealth-action system rather than a linear cinematic obstacle course. The historical pirate setting also shifts the tone from artifact-focused adventure to a broader life-at-sea story.
Select Black Flag if open-world freedom, travel and treasure matter more than constant cinematic pacing. It is the best alternative for players who want to decide where the adventure goes next.

6. God of War (2018) — mythic exploration and a powerful relationship
The appeal for story-first players
God of War (2018) combines exploration, climbing, environmental puzzles and mythological lore with a strong parent-child relationship. Kratos and Atreus give the journey a clear emotional center, and the world gradually reveals its history through locations, conversations and discoveries. If what you want from an Uncharted-like game is a memorable pair moving through a dangerous world, this is a compelling fit.
Its semi-open structure gives you a central route plus optional areas and detours. That allows discovery without becoming as geographically sprawling as a full open-world game. Puzzles are integrated into the environment, and traversal often involves finding the correct sequence of tools, paths or abilities rather than simply climbing from one marked ledge to the next.

Combat is built around melee weapons and abilities, not third-person firearms. The mythology is central, so the tone is more solemn and fantastical than Uncharted’s historical treasure hunting. Its semi-open pacing also leaves more room for optional exploration than the tightly edited chapters of Uncharted 2.
Choose it for character drama, lore and exploratory puzzles. Choose Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones if the specific fantasy is archaeology, guns and ancient artifacts rather than gods and monsters.

Why its world appeals to adventure fans
Ghost of Tsushima offers beautiful historical locations, responsive movement and engaging combat in a fully open world. The setting gives exploration a strong sense of place, while the journey through Tsushima supplies the kind of scenic variety and historical atmosphere that can appeal to players who enjoy Uncharted’s location changes.
Its combat is centered on swordplay, with stealth as another way to approach encounters. Movement across the landscape is fluid, and the open structure lets you pursue activities and discoveries in an order that suits you. The world itself becomes the invitation: you can follow a story lead, investigate a landmark or simply travel toward something visible on the horizon.
The pacing difference
That freedom is also the main distance from Uncharted 2. There is less of the constant, authored escalation from one set piece to the next because the game must support wandering and optional objectives. Sword combat replaces shooting, and historical samurai drama replaces a globe-trotting artifact chase.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Pick Ghost of Tsushima if you want historical atmosphere, polished movement and open-world combat. It is a weaker match for players whose priority is linear cinematic pacing, frequent climbing puzzles and a conventional third-person shooter.
How to choose based on your favorite Uncharted 2 moments
If you loved the climbing and gunfights
Begin with Tomb Raider (2013), then continue through Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The trilogy keeps the most recognizable combination of traversal, shooting, stealth and environmental discovery.
If you loved ancient mysteries and puzzle rooms
Choose Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology, historical locations and whip-based traversal. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the alternative when you want those puzzles inside a third-person combat campaign.

Choose The Last of Us Part I for Naughty Dog’s presentation and emotionally focused storytelling. Be prepared for a darker survival experience rather than a light treasure hunt.
If you loved the feeling of traveling through spectacular places
Choose Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for planet-to-planet science-fiction exploration, or Black Flag for Caribbean sailing and a larger historical world.
If you want a different combat system but equally strong world-building
God of War offers mythological exploration and a parent-child story, while Ghost of Tsushima offers historical open-world swordplay. Both preserve the sense of a character moving through a richly authored world, but neither reproduces Uncharted’s shooter structure.
Platform, edition and purchase checks
Platform support, available editions, prices, stock and storefront terms can change by region and over time. The collection name is important: Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is the package that contains all three modern Tomb Raider games, while individual editions may be listed separately. The same caution applies to remastered or current-generation versions of the other recommendations.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Confirm the exact game or collection name in your regional storefront.
- Check that the listed edition includes the campaign and any expansions you expect; bundles can differ.
- Verify the supported platform and required account or subscription before purchase.
- Compare the edition’s release date and description with the current listing, since re-releases can use a different date from the original game.
- Choose based on your preferred axis—mechanics, story, puzzles, exploration or combat—rather than assuming every game labeled action-adventure plays like Uncharted.
Final verdict
Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is the best overall answer for someone searching for games like Uncharted 2. It retains climbing, shooting, stealth, puzzles, hidden tombs and historical adventure while offering more freedom to explore. Move to The Last of Us Part I for Naughty Dog’s darker storytelling, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology, Jedi: Survivor for science-fiction exploration, or Black Flag for open-world travel. God of War and Ghost of Tsushima are excellent broader alternatives when character drama, mythology or historical combat matter more than a direct mechanical match.
