Sun Haven is the closest single match for a player who wants Stardew Valley-style farming, substantial crafting, and regular monster fights in one game. Its official descriptions combine seasonal crops, livestock, more than 40 crafting stations, mines, bosses, four cities, relationships, and online co-op for up to eight players on Steam.
If you want farming inside a more traditional fantasy role-playing game, choose Rune Factory 4 Special. It adds dungeon expeditions, weapons, magic, monster taming, romance, and a story-led structure. Moonstone Island shifts the emphasis toward collectible spirits and turn-based battles, while My Time at Portia is the best adjacent choice when workshop production and town rebuilding matter more than monster combat.

Sun Haven: the closest match for all three features

Farming and crafting loop
Seasonal planting and livestock provide the familiar daily rhythm: prepare land, grow crops, care for animals, gather resources, and decide which materials to turn into equipment or other crafted items. The advertised total of more than 40 crafting stations indicates a broad production system rather than a single upgrade bench. Steam also lists more than 130 fish, making fishing another progression and collection activity instead of a one-off minigame.

Multiplayer rules are edition-specific. The eight-player statement applies to the Steam description; do not assume the Nintendo Switch edition offers identical online features.

Nintendo’s Switch listing states that the game has 23 marriage candidates. The listing identifies that version as digital and gives a November 29, 2024 release date. Story, dungeons, and relationships
Dungeons and a fantasy storyline drive the action side of the game. Townspeople, friendships, and romance create a social progression layer, while crops and fishing supply resources and routine. The spirit system is the defining distinction in the cited description. You collect spirits and use their cards in turn-based encounters against hostile spirits. If your idea of a Stardew-like successor includes building a collection and planning battles one turn at a time, Moonstone Island may fit better than a game focused on direct action combat.

These are different kinds of “monsters.” Fighting hostile creatures, raising companions, and collecting battle cards create different decisions, so decide which verb matters most before choosing a title.
