Satisfactory is the best alternative if you want a 3D world, exploration, combat, co-op and a factory that grows into a visible transport network. Factorio is the better choice if “automation” means production ratios, logistics and increasingly complex supply chains. Neither reproduces every part of Arknights: Endfield: Endfield combines anime-styled, real-time party combat with an integrated automation layer, while the alternatives emphasize either an industrial simulation or a first-person construction sandbox.
Endfield officially released worldwide on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM UTC+8 for PlayStation 5, PC, Android, iOS and the Epic Games Store. Saves made with the same account synchronize across those platforms. That makes it a useful reference point for this comparison, but the right substitute depends on whether you care more about character-driven action, factory design, exploration or co-op building.
What makes Arknights: Endfield distinctive
Endfield sits between genres that are usually kept separate. PlayStation describes it as an anime-style action RPG built around strategic, real-time combat. Its store tags also identify automation, base building, exploration, combat and tower defense, while the game is labeled a 3D real-time strategy RPG. In practice, that means the factory is not a detached puzzle game: production and infrastructure are part of the broader progression loop surrounding an adventure on Talos-II.
The combat side is party-based and active rather than turn-based. You control a team during encounters, make tactical decisions in real time and move through an explorable science-fiction setting. The automation side asks you to turn resources and facilities into a functioning production system. That combination is the reason ordinary “games like” lists often miss the mark. A character-collection RPG may match the anime presentation but offer no meaningful manufacturing, while a factory simulator may match the logistics but have no party combat or narrative adventure.

Endfield is a free-to-play live-service game. Current store terms, banners, currencies and event schedules can change, so check the platform listing in your region before treating any monetisation detail as permanent. Multiplayer scope should likewise be checked against the current version; the documented cross-platform feature is save synchronization for the same account, not a blanket guarantee that every activity supports cross-play.
At a glance: Endfield, Factorio and Satisfactory

This table compares the documented feature emphasis, not identical mechanics. Endfield is the only one of the three built around anime characters and a party-action loop. Factorio is the most systems-first. Satisfactory is the closest spatial and visual match for someone who wants to walk through a factory in a 3D world.
Choose Satisfactory for a 3D factory adventure
Why it is the closest structural alternative
Satisfactory’s official description calls it “a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat.” You land on an alien planet, gather resources, construct machines and connect them with belts, pipes and other transport systems. The factory is physically present in the world: production lines cross the terrain, power networks spread between structures and later designs can rise through multiple floors.
That perspective makes Satisfactory the strongest recommendation for an Endfield player who wants to feel embedded in an industrial frontier. You walk, climb, drive and inspect machines at human scale instead of viewing the entire operation from an overhead 2D camera. Exploration is not just a menu between missions; locating resources and planning routes are part of the construction challenge.
What you can do in Satisfactory
- Build conveyor-belt production lines that move ore, components and finished goods.
- Use vehicles and trains to connect distant extraction sites and manufacturing areas.
- Move liquids through pipes and design power infrastructure for a growing network.
- Construct multi-story factories and reorganize layouts as production requirements increase.
- Explore an alien planet and fight hostile creatures in first person.
- Play alone or join an online co-op factory.
Where Satisfactory differs from Endfield
Satisfactory does not provide Endfield’s anime character roster, party composition or strategic real-time RPG encounters. You operate one first-person worker rather than swapping among a team with distinct combat roles. Progression is driven primarily by unlocking technologies and improving industrial throughput, not by collecting and developing playable characters.
The difference also affects pacing. Endfield can move from a story or combat objective into automation as part of one RPG progression loop. Satisfactory is a sandbox in which you set the next industrial goal, solve space and transport problems, and decide when to explore or fight. If you want authored character drama and tactical party battles, it will feel less like a direct replacement. If you want to physically design a sprawling facility and then walk through it with friends, it is the better fit.

Choose Factorio for the deepest automation and logistics
Why it is the automation-first choice
Factorio’s official store description defines it as a game about “building and creating automated factories to produce items of increasing complexity, within an infinite 2D world.” That sentence captures its priority: the factory is the main character. You mine resources, research technologies, move materials through belts and robots, process oil, generate power and defend the expanding perimeter.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The overhead 2D view is a deliberate advantage for planning. You can read routes, bottlenecks and production modules at a glance, then redesign the network without the spatial friction of a first-person building game. Recipes create interlocking chains, and each new technology introduces another question about input rates, storage, transport distance or power consumption.
Systems you will manage
- Mining outposts that feed raw materials into a central or distributed factory.
- Transport belts, splitters and inserters that control item flow.
- Research that unlocks more advanced recipes, machines and defensive options.
- Oil processing and chemical production with multiple fluid products.
- Electricity generation and distribution across a growing industrial base.
- Robots that automate construction and logistics after they become available.
- Defensive combat against threats that pressure the factory’s boundaries.
Where Factorio differs from Endfield
Factorio has no anime party, character-collection system or real-time action-RPG combat. Its combat exists to protect expansion and infrastructure rather than to deliver hero abilities or encounter-focused team tactics. The presentation is industrial and 2D, so it will not satisfy someone whose main reason for playing Endfield is its character art, story delivery or science-fiction action atmosphere.
It does, however, go further than Endfield’s documented feature set in making production math and logistics the central challenge. A mistake in a recipe chain can starve several downstream machines; a poorly placed rail line can limit an entire region’s output. For players who describe Endfield’s factory layer as the most compelling part, Factorio offers the most concentrated version of that appeal.
Current player reception snapshot
A Steam capture accessed October 18, 2026, recorded 98% positive English reviews from 118,447 reviews for Factorio. Those figures are a dated snapshot, not a permanent score; review totals and percentages change as new players submit ratings. Factorio’s listed release date is August 14, 2020.

- Builders who want a long-form sandbox with extensive mod support and escalating complexity.
How the three games differ in moment-to-moment play
Combat and decision-making
Endfield puts combat decisions at the center of the action. You bring a party, react in real time and use the strengths of different characters while navigating an adventure zone. The result is closer to a conventional action RPG, even though the game also carries strategy and tower-defense tags.
Satisfactory treats combat as an element of exploration. You encounter hostile creatures while gathering resources or traveling through the map, then return to construction and production. The first-person viewpoint makes aiming and movement immediate, but combat is not the reason to optimize a factory.
Factorio’s defensive combat is tied to industrial expansion. Threats can attack the perimeter, so wall placement, ammunition, power and supply lines become part of the logistics problem. You are protecting a production machine rather than assembling an action-RPG party for set-piece encounters.
Exploration and world structure
Endfield frames exploration as an adventure across Talos-II, with zones and objectives connected to its narrative world. Satisfactory offers an open alien planet in which geography, resource purity and distance influence factory design. Factorio generates an effectively endless 2D resource landscape, encouraging expansion toward new deposits and more efficient outposts.
Recommended Free Tools
Choose Endfield when exploration should serve a character-led campaign. Choose Satisfactory when the landscape itself is a construction constraint. Choose Factorio when exploration primarily exists to secure resources and extend the production network.

Building and automation
Endfield’s automation is integrated with progression, so the question is how infrastructure supports the wider RPG experience. Factorio makes automation the central subject and exposes the most detailed logistics decisions. Satisfactory sits between the two: its systems are substantial, but the challenge is expressed through 3D space, transport routes and factory architecture.
Which game fits your priorities?
| If you want… | Start with… | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Anime characters and active party combat | Endfield | It is the only option here built around an anime real-time action-RPG identity. |
| A walkable 3D factory with co-op | Satisfactory | Its first-person world, vehicles, trains, pipes and vertical construction make the factory tangible. |
| Production math and logistics depth | Factorio | Its entire progression is organized around increasingly complex automated supply chains. |
| Exploration and combat beside construction | Satisfactory | Resource discovery and first-person encounters happen in the same open-world environment as the factory. |
| Defending an industrial network | Factorio | Perimeter defense, expansion and supply logistics are interdependent systems. |
| Cross-platform saves | Endfield | The same-account save synchronization is explicitly documented across its listed platforms. |
| Paid games without live-service terms | Factorio or Satisfactory | Both are listed as paid PC games rather than free-to-play live-service products. |
Platform, co-op and ownership considerations
Endfield’s supported platforms
The January 20, 2026 release notice lists PlayStation 5, PC, Android, iOS and the Epic Games Store, with saves synchronized when you use the same account. Check the current store listing for hardware requirements, regional availability, controller support and any changes to account linking. The documented save feature should not be read as proof that every platform can join every multiplayer activity together.
Factorio’s play model
Factorio is a paid PC game with solo, online and LAN co-op options. Its design works well for a group that wants to share one industrial problem: players can divide mining, rail planning, science production and defense, although an uncoordinated layout can create conflicts over space and resources.
Satisfactory’s play model
Satisfactory is a paid PC game with solo and online co-op. Cooperative construction is its natural social feature: one player can scout or gather while others expand power, refine materials or rebuild a production floor. Online performance and save compatibility depend on the current game version and host setup, so verify the platform’s technical requirements before buying for a group.
Common mistakes when choosing an Endfield alternative
Expecting a factory game to reproduce the character loop
Neither Factorio nor Satisfactory offers Endfield’s anime roster and party-based action structure. If character development, real-time team tactics and narrative adventure are non-negotiable, keep Endfield as the primary game and treat the others as automation-focused companions rather than replacements.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Assuming 3D means deeper automation
Satisfactory’s 3D presentation makes factories easier to inhabit and admire, but visual scale is not the same as production depth. Factorio’s 2D interface can support more explicit logistics planning because the camera is optimized for reading the whole network. Decide whether you want spatial construction or analytical throughput before choosing.
Buying for co-op without checking the exact mode
Endfield’s documented cross-platform feature concerns saves. Factorio supports online and LAN co-op, and Satisfactory supports online co-op, but the practical experience depends on current platform versions, account systems and connection requirements. Confirm those details for your devices and region rather than inferring them from a store tag.

Steam ratings are live aggregates. The Factorio and Satisfactory percentages below are dated captures and should be read with their review counts and access date, not as fixed quality scores.
What the available reception snapshots show
| Game | Steam English review snapshot | Access date | Listed release date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Factorio | 98% positive from 118,447 reviews | October 18, 2026 | August 14, 2020 |
| Satisfactory | 97% positive from 138,338 reviews | 2026 capture | Not stated in the supplied store snapshot |
The snapshots indicate strong player approval for both factory alternatives, but they do not measure similarity to Endfield. A high review percentage cannot tell you whether you will prefer a 2D logistics simulation, a 3D construction sandbox or an anime action RPG.
