For a foldable with no visible selfie-camera hole on the large unfolded screen, choose the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. Samsung explicitly documents the Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6 as using an under-display camera on the main screen. The Fold6 is the newest model in that documented group, while the Fold5, Fold4 and Fold3 can make sense when discounted or bought refurbished.
This qualification applies only to the inner display. Each of these book-style foldables still has a visible camera above its outer cover screen. If you want better inner-screen selfies and can tolerate a hole, the newer Galaxy Z Fold7 is the counterexample: its 10 MP inner camera uses a visible punch-hole instead of the Fold6’s under-display 4 MP camera.
Quick answer: which foldables hide the inner-screen camera?
The following table separates confirmed no-cutout models from phones whose cited specifications do not establish the camera placement.

| Model | Unfolded inner-screen camera | What the evidence supports | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 | Under-display | Samsung lists it in the group whose camera sits under the main screen. | Best documented current choice |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 | Under-display | Samsung’s product information identifies the under-display-camera specification, and its support documentation includes Fold5. | Value option when discounted or refurbished |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 | Under-display | Samsung support includes Fold4 in the no-cutout group. | Older used-market option |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 | Under-display | Samsung support includes Fold3, the earliest model in this documented series. | Lowest-cost route if condition and support are acceptable |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 | Visible 10 MP punch-hole | Tom’s Guide reports a switch from the Fold6’s 4 MP under-display camera. | Choose for selfie quality, not an uninterrupted inner panel |
| HONOR Magic V5 | Not established by the cited specifications | Official hardware figures and reports of twin 10 MP selfie cameras do not say whether the inner cameras are hidden. | General foldable comparison, pending camera-placement verification |
| Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Not established by the cited specifications | Google’s published specifications cover the phone and displays but do not answer the cutout question. | General comparison, not a confirmed no-cutout pick |
“Under-display” means the camera is physically behind the inner panel. It does not mean the lens disappears from every viewing angle or that the phone has no front camera anywhere.

What “no visible front-camera cutout” actually means
The unfolded inner display
On the Fold3 through Fold6, the selfie camera used while the phone is open sits beneath the main flexible display. Samsung’s support wording says: “The Z Fold3, Z Fold4, Z Fold5, and Z Fold6 include an under-display camera on the main screen when the phone is unfolded.” The same explanation says the arrangement provides more screen space and avoids the black bar or cutout where a conventional camera opening would be.
That is the relevant criterion for watching widescreen video, reading, drawing or running apps across the tablet-sized panel. There is no circular punch-hole interrupting the active inner display area.
The outer cover display still has a camera
When the phone is closed, you use a conventional cover-screen selfie camera. It remains visibly mounted above the outer display, so none of the models in this shortlist is an all-camera-invisible phone. Product listings that simply say “no notch” can be misleading unless they specify which screen they mean.
Why a case or protector cannot solve the problem
A case, skin or screen protector can frame the display or hide scratches, but it cannot relocate a camera. A visible punch-hole is part of the display assembly; only a different camera-and-panel design changes it.
Best documented choice: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is the clearest match for this requirement because it is the newest Samsung model explicitly included in the manufacturer’s under-display inner-camera documentation. Open the phone and the large screen has no conventional selfie-camera hole.
Why it leads the shortlist
- It is the latest member of the confirmed Fold3–Fold6 under-display group.
- The camera arrangement is documented by Samsung rather than inferred from photographs or a retailer listing.
- The uninterrupted inner panel is useful when a black circle would sit over video controls, game interfaces or text.
The limitation to accept
The hidden inner camera is not the same as a high-resolution selfie camera. Samsung’s design prioritizes a clean panel, while the newer Fold7’s visible camera produces better-looking selfies in Tom’s Guide’s review. If you regularly take self-portraits on the open screen, decide whether an unobstructed panel or image quality matters more before buying.
Who should buy it
Choose the Fold6 when you want the most current model with a manufacturer-confirmed inner-screen camera location and do not want to rely on used-device condition. Check the cover-screen camera separately if you take most selfies with the phone closed.

Best value alternative: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
The Galaxy Z Fold5 keeps the same under-display inner-camera approach and is included in Samsung’s support statement. It is therefore a genuine no-cutout alternative, not merely a phone with a small bezel.
Why it can be the smarter purchase
As a previous generation, Fold5 stock may be discounted or available refurbished. The saving can be meaningful for readers who care about the clean inner panel more than owning the newest hinge, processor or software bundle. Because prices, stock and warranty terms change, compare the actual condition and support coverage of each listing rather than assuming every “renewed” unit is equivalent.
Checks before buying
- Confirm the listing is a Fold5, not a similarly named cover-screen accessory or replacement display.
- Ask for the battery condition and charging behavior, especially on a used unit.
- Inspect the hinge for stiffness, grinding, gaps or debris that prevents the phone from opening flat.
- Verify the seller’s return period and the remaining software-support window for your region.
Older confirmed options: Galaxy Z Fold4 and Fold3
Galaxy Z Fold4
Samsung includes Fold4 in the same under-display-camera group. It delivers the requested inner-screen appearance, but its age makes the purchase decision more about condition and support than about the camera design. A clean, warrantied Fold4 can be preferable to a cheaper unit with hinge wear or a tired battery.
Galaxy Z Fold3
Fold3 is the earliest model in Samsung’s cited group. It is the model to consider only when the price and condition justify taking on the greatest age-related risk. Examine the inner panel for dead pixels, bright spots, touch inconsistencies and lifting screen-protector edges. Confirm that the hinge opens evenly and that the seller will accept a return if the flexible display develops a fault.
How age changes the value calculation
The no-cutout characteristic is shared across Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6, so it should not be the only reason to pay more for a newer device. Newer models generally reduce the time you have owned a used battery and may leave more software-support life, but those benefits depend on the unit’s purchase date, region and warranty. Treat those as inspection questions, not guaranteed advantages.
Why the Galaxy Z Fold7 does not meet the strict criterion
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is important because it shows the design trade-off clearly. Tom’s Guide reports that Samsung replaced the Fold6’s 4 MP under-display inner camera with a 10 MP camera in a visible punch-hole. The review describes the hole as visually unattractive but says the newer camera takes better-looking photos.
Choose Fold7 when selfie output comes first
A 10 MP camera can provide more image detail than the Fold6’s 4 MP unit, which matters for video calls and selfies taken with the phone open. You must accept a circular interruption in the inner display whenever the front camera is active or simply visible.

Choose Fold6 or older when visual continuity comes first
If your priority is an uninterrupted reading or video surface, Fold7 is the wrong pick despite being newer. The difference is not a hidden setting: it is a change in hardware location, so software updates cannot turn its punch-hole into an under-display camera.
Current alternatives that are not proven no-cutout choices
HONOR Magic V5
The HONOR Magic V5 is a relevant comparison because it is a current thin foldable with substantial battery capacity. HONOR’s 2025 figures list an 8.8 mm thickness, 217 g weight and 5,820 mAh battery. TechRadar lists twin 10 MP selfie cameras. Those facts describe the hardware but do not establish whether the camera behind the inner display is under the panel or placed in a visible opening.
Availability also varies by country. TechRadar reported the Magic V5 unavailable in the United States at review time and available in the United Kingdom and Europe. Check your local model and official specifications before treating it as a no-cutout purchase.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Google’s official page confirms the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s display and hardware specifications, but the cited material does not answer the inner-camera cutout question. It may be an excellent general foldable for other reasons, yet it cannot be placed in the confirmed no-cutout category without a source that explicitly identifies the camera as under-display.
Why “not established” matters
Camera placement is easy to misread in product photos: a render can hide a small hole, crop it out or show only the cover screen. A phone belongs on this list only when the manufacturer or a reliable hands-on source clearly identifies the unfolded inner camera’s location.

| Your priority | Most logical choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Newest confirmed no-cutout design | Galaxy Z Fold6 | Latest model directly documented by Samsung as under-display on the inner screen. |
| Lower purchase cost with the same display concept | Galaxy Z Fold5 | Confirmed design with a better chance of discount or refurbished availability. |
| Used-market bargain | Galaxy Z Fold4 or Fold3 | Both retain the documented inner-screen camera arrangement; condition becomes the deciding factor. |
| Best-looking open-screen selfies | Galaxy Z Fold7 | Tom’s Guide reports better-looking selfies, but the 10 MP camera is in a visible punch-hole. |
| Thin, light hardware to investigate locally | HONOR Magic V5 | 8.8 mm, 217 g and 5,820 mAh are documented, but inner-camera placement is unresolved and regional availability varies. |
| Pixel software and hardware comparison | Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Official specifications are available, but they do not prove a no-cutout inner camera. |
Used and refurbished buying checklist
A lower price is useful only if the display and hinge remain healthy. Complete these checks during the return window, not after it expires.
- Confirm the exact model. Open Settings and the device information page, or compare the model number with the seller’s invoice. Do not rely solely on the box.
- Test both screens. Display a white, gray and black image at full brightness. Look for dead pixels, tinted areas, bright spots and uneven touch response, especially around the under-display camera zone.
- Open and close the hinge repeatedly. It should move smoothly, hold common angles and open without a visible twist. Listen for grinding or cracking sounds.
- Check the inner screen protector. Bubbling or lifting at the fold can worsen. Find out whether the seller or manufacturer will replace it without voiding coverage.
- Test cameras in both configurations. Take a selfie on the cover display and another with the phone unfolded. Confirm that the expected camera activates and that the preview is clear.
- Measure practical battery behavior. Check charging, standby drain and heat during a short video call. A battery-health percentage alone does not reveal every fault.
- Verify software support for your country. Update availability and service policies can differ by region and carrier.
- Document condition before the return deadline. Photograph the hinge, displays and frame so a dispute is easier if a defect appears.
How to verify a “no cutout” listing before purchase
Read the display-specific wording
Look for “under-display camera on the main screen when unfolded” or equivalent language. “Full-screen display,” “minimal bezels” and “no notch” are not sufficient because they may describe only the outer screen or omit a small punch-hole.

Identify which camera the specification describes
Foldables have at least two front-facing use cases: the cover-screen camera and the inner-screen camera. A specification that gives one selfie-camera resolution may refer to only one of them. Ask the seller to identify the camera used while the phone is open.
Check the region and generation
Availability and specifications can vary by country, carrier and storage configuration. Confirm the model generation, because the Fold7 changed camera placement even though it follows the same broad product family as Fold6.
What the under-display design means for everyday use
Video and reading
The benefit is visual continuity: there is no black circular opening competing with subtitles, document text or a game’s heads-up display on the large panel. You still may notice the camera area under certain backgrounds or angles, but there is no conventional cutout shape occupying the surface.
Video calls and selfies
Under-display cameras trade some imaging performance for a cleaner panel. Use the cover-screen camera when you want a more conventional front-camera result, or choose Fold7 if open-screen selfie quality outweighs the visible hole.
Screen repairs
The camera is integrated into the inner display assembly. A replacement panel must preserve that alignment and transparency; a generic protector or third-party repair cannot be assumed to maintain the original camera performance. Use an authorized service route where warranty and parts availability matter.
Common mistakes when shopping for this feature
- Confusing the cover display with the inner display: a product photo may show the outside screen, where a camera hole is expected.
- Assuming newer means hidden: Fold7 is newer than Fold6 but deliberately returns to a visible inner punch-hole.
- Equating more megapixels with a better overall phone: Fold7’s 10 MP inner camera improves selfie output in the cited review, but it changes the screen experience.
- Ignoring used-device risk: Fold3 and Fold4 can satisfy the visual requirement while still having worn batteries, hinges or flexible panels.
- Treating an unverified alternative as confirmed: the cited Magic V5 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold specifications do not settle inner-camera placement.
- Forgetting regional support: a model sold in one market may be unavailable or serviced differently in another.
Final recommendation
Buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 if you want the newest foldable whose manufacturer explicitly confirms an under-display camera on the unfolded inner screen. Select the Fold5 for a likely lower-cost version of the same visual design, or consider Fold4 and Fold3 only after a careful used-device inspection. Skip Fold7 when a visible punch-hole is unacceptable; choose it only if its reported selfie improvement is worth the interruption. Treat the HONOR Magic V5 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold as unconfirmed for this specific requirement until their inner-camera placement is stated for your market.
