Build Flins as an on-field Electro polearm damage dealer focused on Lunar-Charged reactions. The practical baseline is four pieces of Night of the Sky’s Unveiling, ATK% Sands, an ATK% Goblet, a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet, and enough Energy Recharge to use his Burst every rotation. Bloodsoaked Ruins is the premium weapon; Prospector’s Shovel is the strongest craftable alternative identified by current build guides. Level his Elemental Burst first, then Elemental Skill, with Normal Attacks last.

Those recommendations come from published build guides rather than an official developer-prescribed formula. Exact damage depends on teammates, weapon refinements, artifact quality, constellations, enemy content and rotation. Treat stat numbers below as tuning ranges, not mandatory breakpoints.

What Flins does and why the build is different

Flins occupies an on-field DPS slot. He stays active while his team sets up the reactions, buffs and resistance reduction that let his Burst and Lunar-Charged damage carry the rotation. That makes him different from an off-field Electro applier: the team should create windows for Flins to use his abilities and remain on the field for his damage sequence.

Lunar-Charged is the organizing idea behind the build. Electro and Hydro support help maintain the reaction environment, while a second Nod-Krai character can matter when a weapon, artifact effect or team mechanic checks for Moonsign-related conditions. Your roster does not need to copy one guide exactly, but it should provide the reaction setup, buffs and survivability Flins needs.

Artifacts: set choice, main stats and substats

Use four pieces of Night of the Sky’s Unveiling

Night of the Sky’s Unveiling is the common first recommendation from Mobalytics and GameWith and is also listed by Icy Veins as the best set for Flins. Farm a four-piece set when possible. During early progression, use the best individual pieces available with ATK%, CRIT and Energy Recharge rather than delaying a usable build for perfect rolls.

The set recommendation is a guide judgment, not a guarantee that every account will gain the same damage. A lower-quality four-piece set can lose to a well-rolled temporary combination, especially if the latter fixes a severe CRIT or energy shortage. Once your rotation is stable, move toward four pieces with the main stats below.

Main-stat configuration

  • Sands: ATK% is the default recommendation.
  • Goblet: ATK% is the practical default. GameWith’s guide says an Electro DMG Bonus Goblet is not required for Flins’s Lunar-Charged damage, so do not replace a strong ATK% piece merely because it is not Electro DMG Bonus.
  • Circlet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. Pick CRIT Rate when your weapon and substats leave the ratio low; use CRIT DMG when Rate is already adequate.

Substat order

Prioritize enough Energy Recharge to complete the rotation, then build a balanced CRIT profile and ATK%. Elemental Mastery is a useful secondary stat for a reaction-oriented team, but the guides do not put it ahead of fixing energy or a severely lopsided CRIT ratio.

  1. Energy Recharge until Flins can reliably cast his Burst when the rotation returns to him.
  2. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG in a balanced proportion.
  3. ATK% for additional direct scaling.
  4. Elemental Mastery when the piece has it without sacrificing the more important stats above.

How to interpret the published stat targets

Icy Veins, in a guide updated January 30, 2026, lists 2,000 ATK, 45–55% CRIT Rate, 170–200% CRIT DMG and 120–140% Energy Recharge, assuming decent artifact rolls and Prospector’s Shovel. Mobalytics, updated July 18, 2026, gives a broader 110–135% Energy Recharge range because team batteries and Favonius weapons can change the requirement. GameWith, last updated October 10, 2026, suggests 2,500 ATK, 80% CRIT Rate, 200% CRIT DMG and 140% Energy Recharge as goals.

These targets are not contradictory requirements or independently measured game-wide standards. They represent different assumptions about investment and team support. The GameWith numbers are an ambitious end-state target, while the lower ranges can be more realistic for a newly built character or a team that supplies particles. Test whether the Burst is ready when the rotation loops; that result is more useful than forcing a universal ER number.

Weapons: premium, craftable and substitute choices

Choose a weapon by weighing three things: Lunar-Charged and general offensive value, energy comfort in the actual team, and how obtainable the weapon is on your account. Icy Veins notes that the best choice can vary with team and desired investment, so a lower-ranked weapon that fixes your rotation can outperform a nominally stronger option that leaves Burst unavailable.

Weapon Best use case What to evaluate
Bloodsoaked Ruins Premium or signature investment Identified by Icy Veins and Mobalytics as the best-in-slot option, with Lunar-Charged damage, CRIT and energy benefits.
Prospector’s Shovel Free-to-play and low-spend accounts Nod-Krai craftable recommended by Mobalytics as the best free option and described by GameWith as a strong F2P choice.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear Existing five-star weapon Useful when its CRIT and ATK profile improves your ratio without creating an ER problem.
Staff of the Scarlet Sands Accounts that can exploit its offensive stats Compare its CRIT and Elemental Mastery value with your artifact rolls and team buffs.
Deathmatch Battle-pass access and a need for CRIT Rate Its value is account-dependent; check whether the CRIT help is worth the acquisition route and whether ATK or energy is already covered.

When Prospector’s Shovel is the right answer

Prospector’s Shovel is not merely a placeholder. The published guides specifically support it as the craftable Flins option, and Icy Veins’s stat example assumes it. Use it when you need a dependable, obtainable weapon and would rather spend premium currency on characters or other account priorities. Refine and level it according to the materials available to you, then adjust artifacts around its stat profile.

How to choose among existing substitutes

  1. Equip each candidate and check whether Flins still reaches his Burst on the intended rotation.
  2. Compare the resulting CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG ratio after weapon stats are included, not just the weapon’s headline base attack.
  3. Account for team buffs and whether Elemental Mastery is already supplied by supports.
  4. Prefer the option that preserves Lunar-Charged uptime and comfortable field rotations, even if a spreadsheet ranking puts another weapon slightly higher under different assumptions.

Talent priority and leveling plan

Level Flins’s Elemental Burst first, then his Elemental Skill, and Normal Attack last. All three guides summarized for this build place Burst above Skill and treat Normal Attacks as the lowest priority. This order spends scarce materials where the recommended on-field Lunar-Charged rotation gets the most value.

  1. Raise the Burst to the highest practical level for your account.
  2. Invest in the Skill next, especially if it supplies a substantial part of the on-field sequence.
  3. Level Normal Attack after Burst and Skill unless your personal play pattern uses unusually large amounts of normal-attack time.

Do not read this order as a claim that Normal Attacks deal no damage. It is a resource-priority recommendation for the guide-supported build, not an instruction to ignore every other talent indefinitely.

How to build a Flins team

Start with the reaction and field-time requirements

A functional team gives Flins a stable Lunar-Charged environment, supports his Burst cycle and leaves him enough uninterrupted field time to perform his sequence. Hydro teammates help enable the reaction. Electro or other compatible supports can contribute application, buffs or energy. A second Nod-Krai character may be needed for Moonsign-dependent effects, so check the exact requirement of the weapon or team mechanic you are using rather than assuming every four-person roster qualifies.

Ineffa as a high-value partner

Current guides call Ineffa an especially valuable Flins partner. Her inclusion can support the Lunar-Charged focus and may alter how much Energy Recharge Flins needs. If you use her, measure the completed rotation rather than copying an ER target from a team that does not include her.

Hydro and support slots

Use a Hydro character to maintain the reaction setup, then fill remaining slots with buffs, resistance reduction, healing or shielding according to the content. Sucrose is cited as an example of a support who can provide buffs and resistance reduction. Other supports can replace her when your account needs healing, shielding, different application timing or a different elemental setup.

Example teams from published guides

Example Sequence or purpose How to adapt it
Ineffa, Columbina, Sucrose, Flins Mobalytics example built around Lunar-Charged setup before Flins takes the field. Replace a support only if the substitute preserves reaction uptime, buffs or survivability.
Flins, Ineffa, Aino, Sucrose HoYoLAB community guide example with Aino EQ, Ineffa EQ, Sucrose EE, then Flins’s sequence. Treat it as one tested community pattern, not a mandatory roster or universal rotation.

Team rankings are account-sensitive. Constellations, weapon refinements, available healing and the enemies in a chamber can all change which support is best. Build around the roles first, then choose the characters that satisfy those roles on your account.

Rotation: a repeatable starting sequence

The exact button order changes with cooldowns, particle generation and enemy behavior, but the principle is consistent: establish support effects first, trigger the reaction setup, then bring Flins in for his Burst and Skill while the buffs are active.

Mobalytics-style setup

  1. Use Ineffa’s relevant abilities to establish the team setup.
  2. Use Columbina’s abilities and buffs according to the cooldowns available in your version of the team.
  3. Cast Sucrose’s support abilities for buffs and resistance reduction.
  4. Switch to Flins, cast his Elemental Burst, then use his Elemental Skill and on-field sequence while the setup remains active.
  5. Swap out when support effects expire or the next rotation’s abilities are ready, collecting particles for Flins before his next Burst.

HoYoLAB community example

  1. Use Aino’s Elemental Skill and Burst.
  2. Use Ineffa’s Elemental Skill and Burst.
  3. Use Sucrose’s Elemental Skill and Skill again as the guide’s abbreviated EE sequence indicates.
  4. Switch to Flins and perform the recommended on-field sequence, beginning with the Burst priority described above.

These are starting templates, not frame-perfect prescriptions. If Flins’s Burst is unavailable on the next cycle, collect particles earlier, shorten the field sequence, add a Favonius weapon where appropriate or raise ER. If buffs expire before his Burst lands, move the support with the shortest duration later in the setup.

Energy Recharge: tune it instead of chasing one number

Published guidance spans 110–135% from Mobalytics, 120–130% as a general range from Icy Veins, and 120–140% as Icy Veins’s separate stat target. The spread exists because ER depends on teammates, Favonius weapons, enemy particle drops, elemental funnels, constellations, weapon choice and whether the rotation catches particles on Flins.

Use this practical tuning method:

  1. Start near the middle of the published range, around 120–130% if your team has ordinary particle support.
  2. Run several rotations against the content you actually play, not only a stationary test target.
  3. Increase ER if the Burst is late, if you must use an awkward extra Skill, or if the team loses particles while swapping.
  4. Lower ER only after repeated rotations show excess energy and your team can still maintain Burst availability.

A Favonius weapon on a support can let Flins use more offensive substats, while a team with weak particle generation may require the upper end of the range or beyond it. There is no responsible single ER threshold for every Flins team.

Build progression for a new Flins account

Early usable build

  • Equip the best available polearm with a useful CRIT, ATK or energy profile.
  • Use ATK% Sands and Goblet, plus whichever CRIT Circlet gives a workable ratio.
  • Mix artifact pieces temporarily if a four-piece Night of the Sky’s Unveiling set has poor main stats.
  • Level Burst before Skill and avoid spending scarce materials on Normal Attack first.

Stable end-game build

  • Complete four pieces of Night of the Sky’s Unveiling with correct main stats.
  • Replace temporary pieces until the CRIT ratio and ER support the actual rotation.
  • Move from Prospector’s Shovel to Bloodsoaked Ruins only if the premium investment fits your account priorities; otherwise keep the craftable option and improve artifacts.
  • Recheck ER after every major team, weapon or constellation change.

Common mistakes and fixes

Forcing an Electro DMG Goblet

Symptom: You replace a strong ATK% Goblet because Electro DMG Bonus looks like the obvious elemental choice.

Fix: Keep the ATK% default unless your own testing and complete build show a better result. GameWith’s guide specifically says Electro DMG Bonus is not needed for Flins’s Lunar-Charged damage.

Copying an ER target without copying the team

Symptom: Flins misses his Burst despite matching a guide’s percentage.

Fix: Check particles, Favonius support, funneling and rotation length. Use the 110–140% published envelope as a starting point, then tune it in your roster.

Overvaluing a weapon ranking

Symptom: A nominally stronger polearm produces a slower or incomplete rotation.

Fix: Compare Lunar-Charged damage, CRIT balance and energy comfort together. The best weapon for your account is the one that produces the strongest complete rotation under your available supports.

Building Flins as a quick-swap unit

Symptom: You bring Flins in briefly, then leave before his Burst and on-field sequence benefit from the team’s setup.

Fix: Let supports establish the reaction and buffs first, then reserve field time for Flins as the on-field DPS.

Assuming one team is mandatory

Symptom: You abandon the character because you lack one named teammate from a guide.

Fix: Recreate the roles—Lunar-Charged-enabling application, buffs or resistance reduction, energy help and survivability—with the characters you own. The examples from Mobalytics and HoYoLAB demonstrate workable patterns, not an exclusive roster.

Which Flins build should you choose?

For most accounts, use four-piece Night of the Sky’s Unveiling with ATK% Sands, ATK% Goblet and a CRIT Circlet. Equip Bloodsoaked Ruins when you want the signature premium option; use Prospector’s Shovel when you need the supported craftable choice. Level Burst before Skill, assemble a Lunar-Charged team with compatible Electro and Hydro support, and tune ER by testing the complete rotation. Published stat targets differ because their team and investment assumptions differ, so prioritize a reliable Burst cycle and balanced CRIT over copying any one guide’s numbers.
